“By the way, isn’t it time for you to work out?”
“Uhh… Alex, I just remembered that my friend isn’t feeling well and she asked me to follow her to the hospital. I’ll work out next time. Gotta go, bye!”
Yvonne disappeared from Alexandra’s sight like the wind.
“Alex, I…”
Jazmine was going to make up an excuse to flee but Alexandra grabbed onto her clothes and dragged her to the gym by force.
Kaiden changed into loose clothes in his room as he prepared to work out.
He calculated for a while and realized that he rarely exercised ever since he started working. He wondered whether his previous stamina remained.
‘I should do a few push-ups!’
Kaiden did a few push-ups on the carpet and realized that his stamina remained despite a long time of not exercising because he only felt a little soreness in his elbows after a dozen push-ups.
Jazmine was sweating profusely at the gym in the basement after just a few push-ups. She stared at the oddly energized Alexandra on the treadmill exasperatedly.
“Alex, you shouldn’t only force me to work out!”
There was a hidden meaning behind her words.
‘Someone’s lying comfortably in his room upstairs. Why isn’t she dragging him here, too?’
She was certain that he would be done after using any equipment there based on his scrawny physique.
Alexandra picked up her meaning immediately. She did not agree with Yvonne’s thought but she figured that Kaiden should take care of his figure as a man.
She rushed upstairs and dragged Kaiden down relentlessly.
“You should exercise with us from now on so that everyone’s happy!”
Alexandra pointed at the gym equipment around them forthrightly.
Kaiden, who was dragged out of his room, only wore a sleeveless undershirt, the large holes almost showing his abs.
Jazmine’s sharp eyes caught his prominent pecs and bulged with disbelief.
“Oh, my God, you have muscles!”
That was unarguably a big plus point for a man!
She remembered him eating huge portions every meal. How could he maintain his good figure when he always ate so much? Did he not gain any weight from eating?
Jazmine lamented how unfair God was when she remembered how her body gained weight whenever she ate a piece of vegetable.
“Indeed, having extreme good looks does have a price!”
She shrunk to a corner alone with sadness.
Alexandra smiled lightly and only noticed his figure. “I knew it. Kaiden, how long did you take to get this figure?”
“Not that long, I’ve always enjoyed sports, I work out whenever I have time and this just happened.” He made it like an understatement but he was actually very satisfied with his result.
“Hmph, what’s to take pride in? You’re blessed with a body with high metabolism!”
Jazmine pouted unhappily but she could not stop her eyes from stealing glances.
There were various types of flashy equipment in the gym other than the treadmill. Dumbbells of different models were arranged neatly on the floor, there were also exercise bands and yoga equipment.
However, none of these attracted Kaiden’s attention. He had his eyes on an old punching bag in a corner covered with a thin layer of dust.
‘It’s been a while since I used a punching bag!’
“What’s the matter? You want a match?”
Noticing the desire in his eyes, Alexandra approached him with boxing gloves.
“How about a match?”
He would look like a coward if he rejected her but he could not make himself hit such a beautiful lady!
Would it be a sin if he damaged the gorgeous face?
“Let’s just hit the punching bag,” replied Kaiden without even thinking.
“What’s wrong? Are you looking down on a woman?”
Alexandra rubbed her fists together as she gave Kaiden a threatening stare.
“That’s not it, you’re too pretty. I lost all my defenses when I see beautiful girls, I’ll only lose and that’d be humiliating.”
Kaiden stared at Alexandra and praised himself for his sudden wits.
Even if Alexandra insisted, it would be an unfair match regardless of who won.
“How lame. Fine, I’ll train by myself.”
Exasperated, Alexandra took her boxing gloves and walked to the other punching bag to practice.
Finally at peace, Kaiden approached the old punching bag by himself.
Looking at the punching bag, he estimated it to be around ten kilograms, the perfect weight to train arm muscles.
He hurled his fists to the punching bag with his best speed, the huge impact causing the punching bag to swing high instantly before he gave his second punch as fast as he could.
He could feel his arms become more agile after a few punches and he became more alert to his surroundings.
*Thump! Thump! Thump!*
The low thumps of his fists coming into contact with the punching bag were exceptionally loud in the gym. Even Jazmine who was using a treadmill at the side could not help but look over to the source of the noise.
She stared at the punching bag swinging along Kaiden’s arms. ‘It’s ten kilograms and he’s been at it for a while now. Is he not exhausted?
Jazmine got distracted and stopped the treadmill and stood there as she watched Kaiden’s actions dumbfounded.
Kaiden was like an agile professional boxer at that moment. The noises of him punching the bag had a certain rhythm to it as if he was creating electrifying beats.
Kaiden only stopped when his arms became sore, his drop of sweat fell to the floor.
“Did you practice before this?”
Jazmine stared at him with disbelief as if he was a ghost!
Kaiden already exceeded what she perceived of him. ‘Is there anything that he’s not good at?’
Even Alexandra approached him silently. She had been observing his activity from time to time although she was on the other side, not to mention she could not ignore him as he was being very loud.
She was also curious as to whether Kaiden trained before. After all, she remembered him getting blocked by a certain annoying lady in the company’s walkway and he did not seem like a man who knew boxing at all.
“I trained before for self-protection.”
He replied as he stared at the boxing gloves without looking up as he wiped the sweat off his forehead casually.
He thought that his efforts were for nothing after years of not training due to lack of time. He was surprised to find out that his basic skills were still there after trying out that day, his effort in the previous years was not wasted.
“Self-protection? You must’ve offended a lot of people! You were just an unimportant employee, who would want to harm you?”
Jazmine gave him a strange stare. She did not understand why he trained himself for self-protection.
‘Did he train to prevent women from harassing him, a pauper?’
