Forty Millenniums of Cultivation - Chapter 2755
Chapter 2755: A Real Man

The Pangu Alliance was concerned about the Fuxi system for mainly two reasons.
Firstly, the Fuxi could help a super fleet jump beyond the black wall or even send out signals, which would likely expose the secrets of the Pangu universe and attract the attention of the Flood.
Although the Fuxi system was controlled by the leaders of the Pangu alliance, who were visionary, wise, and rational, nobody could guarantee that an insane and crazy lunatic wouldn’t do something like hijacking the whole system and destroying the Pangu universe. If history were of any reference, there were always such lunatics.
Secondly, the Fuxi system, which stored almost all the information in the Pangu universe, had become more and more mysterious and unpredictable. All signs indicated that subtle and dangerous ripples were arising within the system.
Just like how mankind nowadays was worried about the rise of artificial intelligence, the Pangu civilization was faced with the same problem at the crossroad of their fate.
The two concerns eventually led to one decision, which was the Pangu alliance’s self-emasculation. They destroyed their most powerful fleets, abandoned the advanced crystal processor technologies, and sealed 90% of the information and functions in the Fuxi system.
Of course, it was absolutely impossible to completely destroy the Fuxi system.
As Professor Mo Xuan once said, it was impossible for human beings to live without the crystal processors and the Spiritual Nexus today, so it was only a matter of time that new forms of life were born.
By the same logic, the Pangu alliance couldn’t have united thirteen entirely different carbon-based species and spread throughout the universe without the advanced crystal processor system.
If they completely lost their Spiritual Nexus and their crystal processors, the whole alliance would fall apart, and every planet would turn into a lone island in the vast sea of stars, shivering in the darkness until it perished.
Nobody would hear their last wail in the cold vacuum when the Spiritual Nexus was gone.
Therefore, the Pangu alliance kept 10% of the information and functions of the Fuxi. It was an emasculated version of Fuxi.
Later, the Pangu civilization emasculated their feelings and emotions with the help of the emasculated version of Fuxi. Without an advanced computation system, it was impossible to lock one’s brain, melt genes, or conduct artificial reproduction.
However, most of the files on the role of the emasculated version of the Fuxi system were lost in the primeval war, and it was impossible to tell what it was.
Li Yao only heard from Long Yangjun that Pangu and Nuwa both likely had part of the control permissions of the emasculated version of the Fuxi system because Pangu was the leader of the alliance and Nuwa was creating human beings with the Fuxi system.
When the war reached the most critical moment, they had definitely forgotten all their concerns. Maybe the Nuwa Clan tried to restore all the functions of the Fuxi, forcing the Pangu Clan to do the same. Or maybe, the ultimate destruction of Pangu, Nuwa, and other primeval clans was exactly due to the Fuxi system?
After all, it was impossible for human beings, who were still weak back then, to defeat so many formidable species all at once.
It was impossible to find out the truth anymore after hundreds of thousands of years, but Li Yao was certain of one thing.
Whether the crystal processors in the Covenant Alliance were excavated from relics or captured from the Imperium, it was some incomplete version of the Fuxi that was running on those crystal processors.
The Covenant Alliance was much more dependent on the Spiritual Nexus than the federation and the Imperium were. It was exactly because of the stability and reliability of the Fuxi that they were able to pass the orders of the Ultimate Benevolence Masters among hundreds of Sectors in some sort of telepathy.
What were the Ultimate Benevolence Masters exactly? How did they learn to use the Fuxi? Was there a deeper reason for the birth of the Covenant Alliance besides the accidental trigger of Wuying Qi 3.0?
Those questions had popped up after Li Yao observed the Covenant Alliance in person for a couple of days.
“Take a good rest, kid. I’m going back and take a rest too. We’ll be… very busy tomorrow,” Li Yao whispered.
“Grandpa Yao, what’s on your mind? Go on a killing spree?”
Tang Ka grew excited and couldn’t help but clench his fists.
“Everybody familiar with me knows that I’m a reasonable man who doesn’t like violence. I believe that the most important thing for human beings is communication, and all the problems can be solved by talking in peace. So, I don’t like violent solutions unless there are no other choices. People often mock me for that!”
Li Yao said, “Besides, you, your monitor, and Tiantian are involved in this. If that woman is a fake ‘Zhou Xiuyun’, Tiantian would be innocent. Even if Tiantian is a tool that has been modified, she’s still little and can be rescued.
“Maybe I can’t save everybody on this planet, but I should at least try to save those I’ve met.
“Just listen to me tomorrow, and I’ll try to send you, your monitor, and Tiantian out of the city to a real shelter where you will be basically safe. The Covenant Alliance does not have enough troops to eliminate all the underground shelters on this planet, which is not the real target for your leaders.
“Trust me, I will definitely show up before you and let you see the real sunlight within a year!”
“Grandpa Yao… Thank you!”
Tang Ka was both grateful and confused. “But if this ultimate test is really a special experiment, a lot of people must be watching us in secret, or at least watching over my monitor. How can we escape?”
“Very simple.”
Li Yao smiled. “The woman named Zhou Xiuyun gave you a detailed map, didn’t she? A lot of people must be waiting to capture you at the destination marked on the map. So, as long as we go exactly the opposite way, our odds of escape will be very high.
“If everything goes well, it’s possible that you will reach a safe, warm, and secret shelter by tomorrow night.”
“Well…”
After a long hesitation, Tang Ka still asked, “What if it doesn’t go well?”
Li Yao’s soul ripples were sharp and bloody, like the teeth of a shark.
“That shouldn’t be your concern.”
Li Yao smiled and said, “That’s a problem that your mentors, your director, and everybody in this purge troop should be worried about.”
…
When Li Yao’s soul returned to his shell, he found himself lying in the middle of a steamer. The neural interaction fluids and the high-energy nutrition fluids that he was soaked in were all gone, and the steamer, which used to be the cocoon launch cabin, was deformed and cracked.
Through the cracks in the cabin, Li Yao could hear the earsplitting alarms and see that Xiaoming and Wenwen were busy controlling plenty of spiritual puppets.
Li Yao tried to push, but he couldn’t open the seriously deformed cover of the cabin at all. He simply kicked it away and rose from the cabin.
“Why?”
Li Yao frowned and looked at the messy environment. “Why does it seem that a great explosion just took place?”
“Dad!”
Wenwen burst into tears of joy. “Are you alright?”
“Dad, didn’t you cause all this?”
Xiaoming declared in rage, “Just now, your body suddenly went out of control. As if all your cells were burning crazily, your body temporarily soared and vaporized all the fluids in the cabin. The power your body unleashed even broke the launch cabin. Wenwen and I tried our best to maintain the stability of soul connection. What exactly did you do just now?”
“So serious?”
Li Yao scratched his hair. “It seems that the relation between the soul and the shell is still mysterious, and they can’t be completely separated even though I’m in the Divinity Branching Stage. Nothing really happened. I just need to take a good rest. Also, would you please fix the launch cabin as soon as possible? I have to use it again later.
“Right, prepare twenty dosages of brain simulator and inject it into the neural interaction fluids. Okay, I’m going to take a shower and have some food!”
“Hold on a second…”
Xiaoming said suspiciously, “Why do you want so much brain simulator? The current neural interaction fluids are very stable as they are, and while the brain stimulator can significantly improve the activity of your brain cells, it’s very unstable and has many unknown dangers and side effects!
“Hey, Dad, you’re not taking action the moment you see injustice again, are you? Don’t lie to us. We can easily tell that it’s true!”
“Come on!”
Furrowing her tiny eyebrows, Wenwen pouted out her lips and said, “Dad, we know that you like playing a hero, but things are different this time. This time, you’re swinging to millions of lightyears away in the middle of billions of enemies with nothing but your own soul. Also, don’t forget that you still have a mission!”
“I know.”
Li Yao said rather embarrassedly, “Hehe, hehe.”
“What do you mean by ‘hehe’?”
Xiaoming asked further, “Are you playing a hero or not? Forget that I asked. I can tell from your eyes and your smile that you are! You’re hundreds of years old, but why are you still so rash?”
“First of all, I’m only more than a hundred years old, and I’m even younger, subtracting the time I spent in hibernation. I’m still a vigorous young man as a Cultivator. Thank you.”
Li Yao rubbed his nose and said casually, “Secondly, your dad has been like this since his childhood, and it’s impossible for him to change his nature.. It can’t be helped. I’m just such a passionate and hotblooded man!”
