Forty Millenniums of Cultivation - Chapter 2724
Chapter 2724: In the Name of God!
“Wow!”
After Li Yao made a polite request and was ready to visit the sunspot’s brain, the sunspot, greatly taken aback by the sound, had a natural reaction, and a bolt of lightning was struck at Li Yao’s soul.
Boom!
Li Yao’s soul was immediately blown apart. He was kicked back by a foot of thunder and lightning.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!”
Li Yao cried miserably.
“Hiu! Hiu! Hiu! Hiu! Hiu!”
Everything around him changed fast, and Li Yao’s soul was hauled back by a strange force across the ocean and the continent through the shaft in the Gold Crystal Pyramid back into his shell on the silver throne!
“Hiss!”
Li Yao leaped from his silver throne, feeling that he had just been punched in the head a hundred times!
“What happened?”
The world was swirling before Li Yao’s eyes. He had a strong headache, and suspicious fluids were leaking out of his mouth and eyes. He looked at himself in a mirror, only to see that his eyes were bloodshot.
“Dad!”
Xiaoming and Wenwen hurried to support Li Yao with their mechanical arms. They had increased the dosage of nutrition drugs to help him calm down and treat his wounds.
“Just now, we detected that your brainwaves were unusually high. Did you just catch the target unprepared and make him scared?”
Xiaoming analyzed and said, “When human beings are scared, a protective mechanism will be automatically activated in their brains to increase the intensity of brainwave output to block the intruders. So, you must not be rude. You should be patient and take it slowly!”
“Who’s rude? I’ve always been gentle, alright?”
Li Yao spat a mouthful of bloodstained saliva and rolled up his sleeves, before he announced, “Let’s try it again!”
“Are you sure?”
Wenwen said worriedly, “Extracting your soul from your body is very exhausting. Do you not need a rest, Dad?”
“Countless people are dying in the war every second. I have no time to rest!”
Li Yao gritted his teeth. “Just bring it on!”
For the second time, he sat down on the silver throne, and his soul was blossoming like fireworks.
He was more familiar with the process this time, and his soul reached the sunspot in the Third Psychic Research Institute as quickly as lightning.
Vaguely, Li Yao sensed that the sunspot’s brain was not as tranquil as before but had feeble ripples because of the shock just now.
He had left his companions who were training solemnly and was sitting by himself in a corner.
The captives of the Covenant Alliance in this town were all bottom-level workers and soldiers. They did not have a commander. So, none of them knew what to do with him and simply carried on their tasks with their natural instincts. As a result, Li Yao had a chance to talk to the sunspot alone.
With the lesson he learned last time, Li Yao did not let his soul approach the sunspot too closely this time. Instead, he asked patiently from far away. “Don’t be afraid. I’m not malicious. I’m just a friend. Can I come in?”
The sunspot shivered, and his eyes obviously bulged.
But he wasn’t really capable of independent thinking. The genetic marks in his body were so powerful that he subconsciously nodded and opened up his mind.
Greatly relieved, Li Yao pressed his soul into the sunspot’s mind.
“Who are you?”
Sensing an uncanny, magnificent, and majestic power appearing in his brain, the sunspot murmured with the purest and greatest delight, “You’re God! You’re the omniscient and benevolent God!”
“No, I’m not God. There are no gods in this world.”
It was Li Yao’s principle that he would not win the approval of the sunspot through lies and deception. He insisted, “I’m a friend. I’m here to—”
Hardly had he finished his sentence when he sensed that a bolt of lightning was quickly gathered in the sunspot’s head.
“You’re not God, but you have entered my brain!”
Holding his head, the sunspot said determinedly, “Then you must be an extraterrestrial devil. You’re the evilest of all things! Get out of my head!”
Boom! Clap!
Struck by the lightning again, Li Yao was blown away for a second time and was pulled back into his own shell in the Gold Crystal Pyramid by Xiaoming and Wenwen in time.
“I can’t believe this!”
Infuriated, Li Yao held his eyes, which were as swollen as rotten peaches, and said, “What idiocy and superstition! He’s really been poisoned for too long!”
“Dad, why don’t you let it go? We can work on other approaches.”
Wenwen said concernedly, “If it goes on like this, your soul will really be shattered, and you can never return to your body again!”
“No!”
Li Yao gritted his teeth, and the brilliance in his eyes was almost burning through the thick black blood. “If I cannot awaken only one sunspot, how am I going to awaken the dignity and hope of millions of Covenant Alliance people as human beings? Let me try it again!”
For the third time, Li Yao’s soul arrived at the Third Psychic Research Institute in an invisible streak of light. Penetrating through the walls, he reached the head of the sunspot.
The sunspot was panting and seemed to be utterly confused. He was apparently shocked by Li Yao’s previous contacts with him. Li Yao estimated that he had never been more emotional in his life than he was today.
“What’s your problem?”
Taking full precautions, Li Yao sent a thought down below again. “We were having a nice conversation, and I was very polite. If you don’t want me to come in, I can totally stay outside. Why did you strike me with lightning the next second you invited me? Isn’t it bad?”
“Ah!”
The sunspot’s eyes bulged again. Li Yao did not need to read him to know what he meant. “Devils! Extraterrestrial devils!”
“I’m not an extraterrestrial devil. Do you not find me familiar and intimate, as if we’re greatly bound? Why would you feel that way if I’m an extraterrestrial devil?”
Li Yao said, “Of course, I’m not a god either. But I was very close to the god that you worship and obey absolutely, and eventually, your god became part of me and entrusted his heritages and his mission to me. Can you understand the complicated relationship between us?”
Li Yao estimated that the sunspot could not understand it at all with his lack of logic thinking abilities.
However, the sunspot tilted his head and thought for a long time, before he sat down and opened his mind to Li Yao.
“You are the almighty and all-knowing God, and I’m your humblest servant.”
The message was sent from the deepest part of the sunspot’s brain.
Li Yao took a deep breath. Knowing that superstition could not be removed overnight, he decided to try to melt with the sunspot first.
For the third time, his soul stepped into the sunspot’s brain prudently.
When his virtual nerves that were gathered by his soul were connected to the real nerves of the sunspot, Li Yao heard a feeble noise. Then, something amazing happened. The whole world became a hundred times clearer and more vivid. He could see and hear everything around him clearly through the eyes and ears of the sunspot. He could sense the moist air, the gentle breeze, the scorching man-made sun, and the rough soil below his bottom through the sunspot’s skin.
It felt that he had been given a new body!
If he was willing to, he could even significantly enhance this body and fight in it as if he had really possessed the sunspot.
Of course, it was very exhausting and dangerous, not to mention that it was in violation of Li Yao’s beliefs. It was unnecessary for him to try it yet.
“No wonder Wuying Qi won so many battles in the war against the Covenant Alliance at the end of the Star Ocean Republic a thousand years ago! His military achievements made him one of the most distinguished persons in the country!”
Li Yao said, “It was because he had such a batch of excellent spies. He could predict what the Covenant Alliance’s army was going to do through the eyes and ears within the army. Of course he couldn’t fail a battle!”
After realizing that, Li Yao couldn’t have been more disgusted.
Wuying Qi acted mysterious among his own people, exterminated their feelings and will, and transformed them into his slaves after he reached the new level, pretending to be a god of those slaves, but what kind of unworthy god was that?
If the gods did exist, they would be the experts who led their own kind against external enemies and explored the vast universe so that everybody in their civilization would leap to higher levels!
