Chapter 88: It’s None of Your Business (1)
Zhao Youlin was so pissed off by Mu Tingfeng’s obnoxious behavior that she could not sleep well throughout the entire night. When she woke up the next day, two striking black eye rings appeared beneath her eyes. They were so obvious that it was hard to cover them up.
Joy woke up and noticed his mother’s tiredness. He immediately turned into an endearing cute baby by lunging into Zhao Youlin’s arms and kissing her multiple times until his saliva was all over Zhao Youlin’s face.
“You little brat, how could you kiss me when you haven’t even brushed your teeth.” Zhao Youlin hugged Joy and patted him. She complained helplessly.
Joy was no longer scared of Zhao Youlin. He grinned and wrapped his arms around her neck and said, “Mommy, you look tired.”
“Yes, I had a nightmare last night so I didn’t sleep well,” Zhao Youlin said as she carried Joy and entered the washroom to wash him up.
Joy tilted his head curiously and looked at Zhao Youlin, he asked, “Mommy, what nightmare did you have?”
Zhao Youlin smiled. She looked away and said condescendingly, “I dreamt of a bad guy kidnapping you, Joy.”
Children got scared easily. The moment Zhao Youlin said that, he was immediately frightened and tightened his arms around Zhao Youlin’s neck, not willing to loosen his grip and said, “I don’t want to be kidnapped by a bad guy.”
Zhao Youlin kissed her son with amusement. She said, “So, you have to stay at home obediently and play with Sparta. Don’t simply run around and wait for me to come back, okay?”
“Mommy, are you going out again?” As soon as Joy heard Zhao Youlin’s words, he raised his head from Zhao Youlin’s shoulder and asked in surprise.
“Yes, I have to go out again today. I’ll buy some cupcakes for you when I come back, okay?”
“Mhm mhm…” Joy could not resist the temptation of good food and nodded his head.
“But, you have to stay at home and play with Sparta. Don’t simply run around, don’t simply touch the things and most importantly, don’t simply let any stranger enter the house. Otherwise, you’ll be kidnapped by the bad guys and I won’t be able to see you again when I return home.”
Joy panicked. He hurriedly nodded and said, “I’ll be a good boy and stay at home and wait for your return, Mommy. Mommy, you have to buy cupcakes for me and come back early.”
“You’re a little glutton!” When Zhao Youlin knew that Joy cared about cupcakes the most, she did not know if she should laugh or cry.
After teasing her son and helping him wash up. She changed his clothes and took him out for breakfast. When all that was done, Zhao Youlin went out reluctantly.
Zhao Youlin returned to the familiar place, Direct Sun Cafe. She felt some inexplicable sense of discomfort.
Half a month ago, she was here and had put Mu Tingfeng to shame as well as divorced him in public.
A month later, she was at the same cafe and waiting for him instead. One had to admit that the old saying was true to its words, there was payback for every action taken.
Zhao Youlin looked up at the clock inside the cafe. Her heart clenched when she saw the needle of the clock pointing to eight. ‘Is he going to stand me up just like what I did to him last time?’
Zhao Youlin’s doubt was cleared when the minute hand of the clock passed by every minute from the original position at twelve to six and finally returned to twelve. At the same time, the hour hand slowly pointed from eight to nine.
Zhao Youlin stared wide-eyed as the time gradually passed by. The cafe was getting crowded from only a few customers at the beginning to tens and dozens of them.
The coffee on the table had long turned cold. Zhao Youlin had taken great pains to hold back her anger but now, the raging fire deep down her heart was slowly on the rise.
It had been an hour. That rascal actually stood her up for an hour just like what she had done to him before.
