Fatal Shot - Chapter 506
Chapter 506: Assassinate, Detection Eagle
“It seems like the opponent’s detection methods are a level higher than ours. We’re doomed, the Desert Rock Lizard of such a huge size would definitely have been discovered.” Hearing that, Big Pineapple looked a little rejoicefully toward Gigolo who was about to command the Desert Rock Lizard to drill under the sand and go on the hunt after he had acted dumb enough.
Gigolo creased his forehead, not speaking.
With this mouth of Big Pineapple’s, any stranger would not be very sensitive.
“Must think of a way to get rid of this eagle. If not, it doesn’t need to do anything else, it just has to keep circling above us and our location would be displayed right under the opponent’s eyes.” However, as an experienced PKer, Gigolo’s assessment of situations was nonetheless very fast and accurate.
“Should’ve already been exposed, this eagle’s leg even carries a detection device, it’s no longer just our location that’s exposed. This move of theirs is pretty awesome.” Feng Luo took out his sniper rifle and looking through the scope, his powerful visual sense had clearly noticed details that even the Scout had not discovered.
…
“A Sniper, a Scout, a Heavy Armored Warrior, a Light Armored Warrior, and a Wind Manipulator.”
Just as Feng Luo thought, the team formed from five Storm City star players had already gotten the information they needed through the device carried on the eagle.
“It’s a shame that the system limits the number of usages of these special devices, one set of devices can only be used 10 times in the arena. But anyway, the usage outside and in PK is separately calculated, there’s no wastage in using here.” The Scout player looked at the image projected into the air from the Recon Meter and spoke to the other four people.
“Eh, this Light Armored Warrior is actually a female. Women players who PK are rare.” The Nine Star Guild Machine Gunner noticed Phoenix on the image first thing, and spoke slightly curiously.
“The Wind Manipulator looks like Blown By The Wind. There’s something up with him being assigned to the other side. When the battle begins, don’t y’all snatch with me.” The Fire Manipulator Starry Night showed “ferocity” when he saw Blown By The Wind.
“I suppose you mean to take revenge for when he stole your kill the last time. Alright, a showdown between Manipulators one from each side, we won’t interfere and will try our best to create the conditions for you two to go one-on-one. Hand that Sniper solely to me, I have a bit of interest in him.” The star Sniper of Nine Star Guild stared at the sniper rifle in Feng Luo’s hands and spoke delightedly.
“Alright, I’ll take care of that Heavy Armored Warrior. Old Douche, I didn’t deliberately snatch with you, I’m afraid that if you really showdown with the other Heavy Armored Warrior, it would make him so depressed that he’d vomit blood. Then the battle wouldn’t be finished even when you’ve fought till the system starts forcefully deducting health.” The Machine Gunner had his eyes on Big Pineapple, while his words clearly proved that this bearded Heavy Armored Warrior was very rad in defense.
“Alright, then that Light Armored Warrior beauty would be mine, y’all don’t be jealous.” The bearded Heavy Armored Warrior smiled, pointing at Phoenix holding onto an Alloy Sword in the image.
“Jealousy, no way, but you watch out on one thing, don’t let such a pretty lady lose too badly, give in a little.” The Nine Star Guild Machine Gunner laughed.
“What kind of person is Old Douche, the leader of the three villains, how could he possibly have the heart to show tender affection?” The Scout player laughed. Since the people had been chosen, his target was the Scout of Feng Luo’s team.
“Eh, that Sniper, what is he doing? He’s actually pointing his sniper rifle at the Wind Eagle in the sky – is he going to shoot down the Wind Eagle? Is it possible? A sniper rifle of such a Level shouldn’t be able to shoot such a high place.” After the bearded player made a joke, their attention was attracted by the situation detected by the Wind Eagle.
On the image sent back by the eagle-carried device, Feng Luo had raised his sniper rifle, with the muzzle pointed straight in their direction.
“There are three possibilities, one is that he just wants to wait a while and see if the Wind Eagle would lower its height. Two is that he has some unique bullet which is able to automatically increase in speed, or some Energy bullet of lighter weight with a starting speed that is high enough and able to hit such a height. Or three, he didn’t consider the problem of the bullet being unable to go so high – this was possible too. But it’s best if you let your pet go a little higher.” The Nine Star Guild Sniper said with interest – it was naturally a Sniper who understood a Sniper the most.
“No need, I think he’s just bluffing. Although my Wind Eagle is an Elite-Grade pet, it’s a speed variant type – not only is its flying speed fast, the main thing is that as an Energy-type creature, Wind Eagles’ uniquely structured eyes are able to see a certain degree of Energy waves. Normal physical bullets are unable to attack at such a height, while Energy-type bullets would also be slowed down at a higher point, it would be able to detect and avoid with its speed – even if this Sniper has some kind of Energy bullet which is able to attack at long range, no worries.” The Nine Star Guild Scout player was not very concerned as he spoke with a light smile.
…
The Wind Eagle was a kind of Energy-type creature – the flying speed of Commander-Grade Wind Eagles at their limit could reach subsonic speed.
Although this Wind Eagle was just Elite-Grade, its speed was nonetheless extremely fast – in just over 10 seconds, it had already flown to the sky above the few people and had started to circle.
This Wind Eagle seemed to have gone through detection training as it stopped at a height of 700 meters above to ensure that it would not be hit by the players.
“Old Feng, you want to shoot it? Seems like it won’t work. Although the shooting range of your Python of Death is sufficient, a bullet will reduce in speed extremely fast in the process of flying towards the sky. Technically, it’s unable to hit a creature at such a height. The opponent has got us here, that’s why they so generously used a pet to come over and detect.” Big Pineapple looked at the sniper rifle, asking Feng Luo cluelessly.
Towards sniper rifles, Big Pineapple was very clear especially of Barrett’s air-shooting, as the two had air-sniped a Hunter T-750 before in an Agent Mission. He knew that even Barrett would not be able to kill this airborne creature 700 meters above them.
“It’s definitely impossible now, but I’m waiting for it to descend a bit.” Feng Luo’s sniper rifle was already raised, with the rifle butt against his shoulder, and with a “click,” a C-Grade bullet was loaded.
He had one eye staring straight at the sniper rifle.
Other than locking on the Wind Eagle in the field of view of the sniping scope, at the same time he has been staring at the five thumb-sized white dots 300 meters below and flying towards the Wind Eagle.
Five Normal Energy beetles.
Feng Luo’s thought was very simple: since you’re not coming down, then I’ll send something up and find you.
There were three types of beetle that could fly, and if counting Elite-Grade Gatherer Beetles, there should be four types.
If it was not for how the Suicide Bombeetles were too loud when they flew, and how they would attract attention with their slow flying speed, Feng Luo would have considered sending two Suicide Bombeetles forward.
Although beetle troops indeed could go up, Feng Luo was actually thinking of making the Wind Eagle come down.
Upon knowing that this was a Wind Eagle, he thought of a kind of special ability of less common monsters such as Wind Eagles – the sensitivity and love for Energy, and the liking of eating small Energy creatures and Energy Crystals.
For Energy beetles, they were coincidentally considered almost pure Energy creatures.
Although they were small and should be called “mini-type,” five of them together would roughly be about the size of half a fist.
Due to the distance, it would be very difficult for normal people to realize the five little white dots in the sky; even the Scout with his binoculars raised did not discover these five Energy beetles no bigger than a thumb.
They were clearly seen through the extremely powerful vision of the eagle’s eyes; it had noticed the five Energy beetles when they closed into its 200-meter radius.
As a predatory bird of the skies, since there were all sorts of mutant flight creatures in War, the eagle did not hold the status of the king of the skies.
However, being at the top of the food chain, this eagle did not feel any threat from the five little beetles. Rather, at this distance, its extremely high sensitivity-type Energy sense had detected the pure Energy waves radiating from the five Energy beetles.
Normal Elite pets were not like 24K with super-strong Mental Link, AI, and learning ability. Once they left their owners, they were more or less dependent on their own abilities to act.
Therefore, under the guidance of its ability, this Wind Eagle suddenly gave up the height it had maintained, flapped its wings and lunged at the five Energy beetles below.
“Why did the Wind Eagle descend?” The Scout realized this situation, his expression a little dumbfounded.
“This brat’s vision is really awesome.” Feng Luo’s sniper rifle steadily shifted a slight angle, and in his mind, he was continuously calculating the Wind Eagle’s speed and the bullet’s shooting angle.
He had initially thought that he had to wait for the beetles to close in at least to within 50 meters before the eagle would discover them and attack. He did not think that this brat was actually so greedy that it was throwing away its life for food.
“Ping!”
With a gunshot, a faint blue 12.7MM armor-piercing bullet flew out of the upward-slanting gun barrel at a speed of over 900 meters per second.
…
In the sky, the five Energy beetles sped up as they descended, flapping their wings at the highest speed, but their speed was far incomparable with the Wind Eagle.
“Chomp!”
The Wind Eagle, chasing downward at a speed of over 100 meters per second, stretched out its hooked beak, swallowing the last Energy beetle straight down its stomach.
“Swoosh!”
Just at that moment, its eyes swiftly felt a faint blue object closing in at high speed.
With a lurch and a cry, it flapped its wings tremendously to escape, but it was already too late.
Having descended to a height of over 400 meters in order to attack the Energy beetles, it was not possible for the Wind Eagle, still descending at a speed of tens of meters per second, to dodge this accurately calculated sniper bullet.
“Poof!”
The faint blue Energy armor-piercing bullet drilled straight through the Wind Eagle’s chest.
It completely busted half of the Elite pet’s body, then flew out carrying a huge amount of eagle blood, continuing to rush towards the sky.
“-4600!”
An eye-catching red lethal damage number effortlessly took the life of this flight pet with not much health and of no more than an Elite-Grade.
