Fatal Shot - Chapter 423
Chapter 423: B-grade Frost Bullets
In a location around one kilometer from the Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group’s secret base.
On the top floor of an empty hotel building over a hundred meters tall, a group of Federation camp players that seemed to have made a provisional party was shooting at eight Foragers that were trying to crawl up the building.
“Hurry up! Attack! Don’t save your bullets!”
“There are eight Foragers! We sure are unlucky!”
“Being unlucky is one thing, but remember, Foragers give a lot of points if you kill them. Foragers also have a higher probability of dropping Permanent Enhancement Potions compared to Elite Grade zombies!”
The group of players had decent gears. After a bombardment of bullets and skills, six Foragers had their brains blown up.
Two of the Foragers were almost at the top of the building. One of the Foragers in particular, had its target locked on to an average-looking female Fire Manipulator wearing a pair of red spectacles. Though the girl looked average, she had an incredibly beautiful pair of eyes.
“Bang!”
“-2244!”
“-822!”
A gunshot suddenly rang. As it almost reached the top of the building, the Forager’s front limbs suddenly had a bowl-sized bullet wound. Two white damage numbers that added up to over 3,000 damage also appeared above its head.
The Forager’s front limbs weren’t a weak point nor was it a vital spot, as such, the damage from the shot was far from enough to kill it.
The odd thing was that the Forager that was initially crawling on the smooth metallic outer wall of the building at high-speed seemed to have suddenly lost control of half of its body after getting hit. It then lost its footing and began falling.
Falling from over a hundred meters meant that, even if it were a Forager that had been strengthened by the T-virus, it was impossible to survive.
The Forager landed on the ground and became minced meat, vague white chilly air seemed to appear from the blood that oozed out of the wound from the front limbs that was shot.
“The Frost Bullet’s effect is quite nice. It sure feels wasteful using the B-grade bullet on Foragers.” Around 200 meters from the hotel building, on top of a building that was slightly higher, Feng Luo used the sniping scope and saw the scene unfold before him.
[Frost Bullet (B-grade)]
Increases 20% attack. After striking, a certain area around the spot struck by the bullet will sustain a continuous low-temperature effect. After the bullet enters the target’s body, it will cause a certain degree of freeze effect and some bonus freeze damage.
That’s right, Feng Luo just used a B-grade bullet.
It was the B-grade functional bullets that had functions similar to the Type One Impact Bullet that Feng Luo obtained from the Resident Evil – Omen mission from last time.
The source of these B-grade bullets was the second level of the passcode chest inside his inventory. Unlike the ten B-grade potions in Big Pineapple’s passcode chest’s second level, Feng Luo had 30 unique bullets.
Four types of B-grade bullets. Ten for two types and another five for the other two.
B-grade bullets were currently the best bullets in the game. At the moment, no player in the game had ever seen A-grade bullets before.
To receive 30 B-grade bullets in the mission directly, it made Feng Luo incredibly satisfied and pleasantly surprised.
Considering the fact that the bullets needed to be exchanged with his special agent points, the pleasantness had been halved.
Every passcode chest’s second level had different items for each person for this mission. Whether it was Big Pineapple’s B-grade potions, Feng Luo’s B-grade bullets, or Digital Cat’s infiltration device; they were all items that could substantially strengthen the team or their personal combat strength.
“I say, Captain Feng, can you not pull the trigger so late? That Forager almost got to me. I’m currently a manipulator, I’m really fragile you know? You must, at all costs, protect me better!” The bewitching voice of a female entered Feng Luo’s ear.
The female Fire Manipulator without makeup, who was wearing a pair of traditional-looking spectacles, was patting her chest while whispering on top of the hotel building far away. There was only one person who would ever call Feng Luo that; Phoenix.
“It’s not my fault that even your backup Light Armor Warrior armor was red. You can only be disguised as a manipulator; at least this way, the contrast is bigger so you can blend in more. You can easily use the chip to switch into your warrior profession in times of danger. It’s not so easy to kill you quickly with your warrior bonus, even if you are wearing the gears of a manipulator.” Feng Luo answered while shaking his head.
“Captain Feng, you sure aren’t tender towards women.” Phoenix, who had used to disguise potion to completely change her face and her overall temperament felt herself grit her teeth.
“The situation is alright. It looks like members of Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group aren’t hiding in this building. The defense surrounding the base does not seem too tight.” Onishi’s deep voice was transmitted through the comms device of the special agent eyewear.
An average-looking Level 40 Excellent Grade assault rifle hung in front of Onishi’s chest. He was holding a pair of tactical binoculars and stood inside the building Phoenix was in to observe the situation with the zombies. He also looked at the surroundings of Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group’s secret base.
“Based on the intel provided by Black Rose, the location of the secret base is highly confidential. Only the higher-ups of Roaring Mercenary Group know its location. Most players in the Federation camp are either planning to surround their guild headquarters or focus their efforts on farming points, probably why nobody’s coming here. But this is a good thing. At least we don’t have to startle them before the plan initiates.” As Feng Luo said that…
“Bang!”
The trigger of the Eye of the Thunder was pressed, and a normal sniper bullet flew toward the street on the ground and struck the head of a zombie that transformed from an NPC.
“Boom!”
“-9866!”
Its head exploded, headshot.
Several zombies on the street looked toward the sky in confusion. In Feng Luo’s sight, he could see at least 200 to 300 zombies wandering about in every corner of the streets beneath him, in addition to the congested vehicles, debris and dried black bloodstains everywhere across the city.
“This does feel like being inside an infected city in the Resident Evil game.” Feng Luo lamented. It was considered a dream before, and at that moment, he had a feeling like his dream had become a reality.
“For vigilance’s sake, I have to split the group into two teams. Part of the city’s surveillance system may already be in Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group’s control, although it’s fine if they took control of the surveillance system. Since a lot of players are coming online, Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group has to consider the counterattack that will be coming later. That’s why they don’t have the strength and energy to deal with other random players. It is right to be careful. Once Digital Cat infiltrates their comms channel, we won’t have to go through this much trouble anymore.” Feng Luo turned around to look at the room behind him.
Standing in front of a tiny device, Digital Cat was rapidly and continuously tapping on a virtual keyboard while streams of data continued to flow through her technology spectacles.
After less than 20 seconds, Digital Cat stopped moving. “It’s done.”
