Fatal Shot - Chapter 354
Chapter 354: Shot of the Millennium, Here!
“Da, da, da!”
“Bazoom!”
“Hurry to the top! We can’t let it get here!”
On the No. 10 platform of Romanti Flower Hotel, all kinds of gunshots, explosions, and players’ yells interweaved. Energy skills of various colors colored the night sky close to 100 meters above the ground.
“What’s going on? This is clearly the inside of the city. Why are there suddenly so many mutant creatures?”
“Some brats inside are even faster than the Lickers. I can’t aim properly!” Holding onto his Rare sci-fi submachine gun, the Scout’s expression was grim; the Energy bullet shot from the submachine gun in his hands had just ripped a small T-Virus-infected feline animal with busted skin and bloodshot eyes into pieces.
But following that, a mutant infected zombie dog larger than a tiger, with blood continuously dripping from its mouth, leaped over the corpse of the feline animal, roaring as it went along the top the linkway and lunged towards the platform. Behind it, there were also some infected animals of other types and different sizes, similarly charging towards where the players were situated. These animals had all just come through from a huge hole made in the strengthened glass wall of the main building of the hotel opposite of here, one level higher than where everyone was.
With the players’ hard work in attacking, many of the infected organisms had lost their footing from the force of bullets or skills, falling straight off the linkway and down the 100-meter height. There were also some which had been ripped to pieces by the players’ mighty attacks, but the infected animals from the hole still kept jumping out one by one, completely unfazed.
“That spot seems like the hotel’s fresh delicacy ingredient zone; normally there would be at least a few hundred types of wild monsters locked up in there,” a Heavy Armored Warrior casual player on the team said. He took out his personal terminal to take a look at the virtual screen projected from it as he held onto his Alloy Shield, standing before a bunch of long-range profession players as protection.
“Ingredient zone? What’s inside?”
“There are golden ferrets from the Forest of Exiles, Bullet Fire Ants from the Withered Desert…original-tasting seafood from the deeps of the Gray Waters, and tasty meaty birds from the high altitudes of Snowy Hinterland in winter…”
This Silvermoon City’s casual Warrior player actually had the complete data of this hotel saved in his personal terminal and had read out an advertisement.
“I’ve come here to eat a few times with friends. The stuff is pretty expensive and the taste is average,” the Heavy Armored Warrior player said with a little awkwardness on his face.
“Birds?”
My World’s expression suddenly changed. The two of them had not finished talking when through the hole a huge number of mutant birds, with their eyes glowing red from being infected, rushed out in an instant!
“Squawk, squawk!”
“Kaw, kaw!”
“Tch!”
After charging out from the hole, birds of all sorts of sizes swiped down towards the players on the platform!
“Careful! Above your heads!”
“Quick, close-combat defense up!”
“Manipulators, range skill!”
In an instant, it was chaotic on the platform, with all sorts of yelling and attack skills lumped up into a mess. There was no trustworthy instruction in the team; this moment was welcoming the true crisis!
…
“Crap!”
On the ground below Romanti Flower Hotel, Feng Luo had turned back to finish off two Elite Lickers that had relied on their speed to chase him all the way here. He looked up and saw the No. 10 platform, where the battle had clearly become more epic.
He immediately gave up on his initial plan of charging up the hotel from the stairs linkway.
“Click!”
At the speed of a handgun bullet, a silver intelligent traction anchor shot out from his Agent Wristwatch straight towards the lowest petal-shaped dining platform about 20 meters above.
“Pai!”
After hooking onto the platform railing, the anchor, no larger than a finger, automatically sprung open, completing its rotating coiling fixation. Following that, with his legs using his Intelligence Chip-controlled Thunder equipment set and his alloy combat shoes, Feng Luo rapidly ascended into the air with a rigorous leap.
…
Meanwhile, the battle on the No. 10 air dining platform was heated up.
Due to the cut energy supply, the originally retractable semi-transparent forcefield was unable to be engaged, so there was no way of defending above their heads.
The number of infected birds flying in the air had already reached above 20. They were unlike those infected land animals which could only charge from that narrow linkway — these birds with heightened aggressiveness after being infected by the T-Virus were not restricted at all by the landscape.
Among these birds that were initially used as ingredients for the hotel, many of them were originally Elite-Grade monsters, and now that they were infected by the T-Virus, it was equivalent to another evolution. Although they were not considered Commander-Grade, their ability was definitely much more powerful than average Elite monsters! On top of that, as a T-Virus host, any of their close attacks would carry the T-Virus — this in itself was incredibly dangerous.
Within that short period of time on the platform, one flash of the white light of death had already shown. A casual Light Armored Warrior player whose equipment was weaker had had his HP rapidly depleted upon being surrounded and attacked by five or six birds, dying before the Doctor could provide aid!
This Light Armored Warrior had just died and his body was already being bitten and ripped apart by the infected birds.
…
At the VIP zone of the platform, the main door was also unable to be closed because of the lack of energy supply.
If it were not for Ultimate Heavy Armor holding his Alloy Shield high in the air, completely sealing the door and pushing back the infected birds charging over one by one, the three NPCs would have probably been doomed! However, a low-attack power Heavy Armored Warrior was indeed a little powerless against such infected birds.
“Kaw!”
A crow-like infected bird, with a rotting stench and much of its feathers already fallen off, suddenly flapped its wings hard, swooping down from above Ultimate Heavy Armor’s head. Following that, the bird had attached itself entirely onto Ultimate Heavy Armor’s head, its claws clasped tightly onto the linking section of his armor. Its over 50-centimeter black wings completely blocked his sight.
“Crook!”
Another Elite-Grade crow-like infected bird with a body size of over 30 centimeters flapped its feather-shedding dark red wings as it flew towards the VIP zone.
“Ah!”
Inside, Jing Xiang and Lan had already seen this situation, their faces instantly turning pale-white!
“Boom!”
Just then, a silhouette leaped up from below the platform.
Feng Luo’s pupils contracted, and before he could react, the Ghost Weep military knife in his hand had already shot out, flying and cutting the air with a “whoosh!”
“Crook, crook!”
The wings of the Level 42 Elite infected bird, attempting to charge in, were pierced through and pinned to the metallic wall in the VIP zone by Ghost Weep!
However, after being infected, the damage resistance ability of this originally well-tempered pigeon-like bird had clearly been greatly increased — it did not die from this slash!
Moreover, its temper became extremely violent; after it was pinned, it continued to struggle, after which it actually tore itself away from its half-remaining wing.
“Pai!”
The infected bird fell to the ground. With its bloodshot eyes still glowing red, it attempted to charge straight at the three NPCs inside!
“Ping!”
“-3456!”
However, right then, a heated sniper bullet directly blew up its head. The flammable substance in the explosive armor-piercing bullet exploded into a ball of flames, completely surrounding this Elite T-Virus-infected bird.
“Who are you? What have you done?”
Ultimate Heavy Armor had finally shaken off that crow-like infected beast stuck to his head and heavily smashed it against the metallic wall of the platform with Shield Bash until it formed a puddle of bird juice. He then held up his Alloy Shield and quickly turned to see Feng Luo, with his Eye of the Thunder raised, who had just fired a shot in the VIP zone.
Because Feng Luo’s Light Armored Warrior attire and the helmet of his Thunder equipment almost completely covered his face, he could not recognize Feng Luo at all. Rather, as Feng Luo shot into the VIP zone that he was protecting, rage and a sense of guard appeared in his eyes.
“Brother Heavy Armor, it’s me!” Feng Luo controlled the mask on his helmet to shift open, revealing his face.
“Brother Feng? How did you find this place?”
Just then, Ultimate Heavy Armor had also seen that the NPCs inside were safe and heaved a sigh of relief.
When he saw Feng Luo’s face, he was very surprised.
