Fatal Shot - Chapter 142
Chapter 142: Incredible Drops
Bam, bam, bam…
The swarm of bullets shot from the Guard Bureau landed all over the Tyrant, destroying the greens and the statues around the hospital, sending soil and rocks flying all over the place. However, most of the bullets hit the gigantic claws of the Tyrant, producing muffled sounds.
The Tyrant raised its arm as though holding a shield in front of it. It rushed toward the Guard Bureau as bullets showered it! Moreover, even though it was infected by the T-virus and transformed into a Tyrant, after realizing that the attacks were depleting its HP rapidly, it unexpectedly ran between some of the buildings to conceal itself. Its course of action seemed to be quite tactical, as though it still retained some of its instincts as a guard soldier.
This undoubtedly resulted in some weaknesses in the players’ attacks, especially for machine gun users. That was because, with an extra large ammo box, even when firing at will, a machine gun could only support shooting for less than 10 seconds. Hence, Sister Rui intentionally controlled her shots. She also unleashed a chain of bullets about 50 meters around where the Tyrant rushed to, reloading her ammo one round after another.
However, the Tyrant took the opportunity to take cover among the buildings while rapidly rushing toward the players amid their attacks with its gigantic claws raised in front of it.
Boom!
A stone wall suddenly appeared in front of the Tyrant, attempting to obstruct its movement. But the Tyrant seemed unfazed. With its claws raised, it rammed straight through the stone wall, dissipating it into Earth Energy.
Swoosh…
Spinning at high speed, a spiral wind blade formed by dozens of light green wind blades hit the Tyrant. However, such powerful and extremely sharp blades could only cause thin, bloody scratches on its claws.
When it came to monsters transformed by the T-virus, only by hitting weak points or using a highly destructive gun could players inflict substantial damage; hitting other parts would reduce the damage inflicted tremendously. Hence, the Tyrant quickly rushed toward the players with unstoppable speed and was already less than 30 meters from their position!
However, the distance remaining was undoubtedly the most difficult area to pass through! Because within this distance, there was no cover at all, making it the optimal battleground for players to attack.
“Roar!”
The moment it appeared from behind the last building—with its gigantic claws protecting its upper body—a rain of bullets was there to welcome the Tyrant!
Ratatat!
Aside from the gunshots from Sister Rui’s Death Ripper, another type of gunshot could be heard simultaneously. Next to Feng Luo and the others, Young Master Lin was firing his six-barreled Destructive Thundersnake at the Tyrant in a frenzy while adjusting the angle of depression to its lowest setting. The muzzle flashes produced by the six barrels were absolutely stunning.
The six-barreled Destructive Thundersnake’s rate of fire was not as fast as the eight-barreled Death Ripper, but it had the upper hand, as its bullets’ destructive power was much stronger! With the combination of the two guns, the Tyrant could only advance less than 10 meters. The Tyrant’s claw, previously tough and strong, was now a bloody mush of flesh; some of the shots even pierced through its claws.
“Roar!”
Even though the Tyrant could mitigate a large amount of damage by using its large claw, the attacks of the two Level-45 rare guns made it a bit difficult for it to rush toward them.
In this kind of situation—a Commander monster without an energy shield—it was certainly no simple feat to rush directly at the players. Moreover, at that moment, swooshing sounds could be heard as a stream of bullets even fiercer than the two of those guns combined was unleashed from a position slightly below the Guard Bureau. The Guard Bureau’s NPC soldiers had joined in the combat. They were equipped with a six-barreled railgun, which was much stronger and more effective than the two machine guns combined.
“Roar!”
With the shots from the six-barreled railgun, the Tyrant was completely prevented from moving forward. It even recoiled from the bullets’ impact. With the continuous attacks, the damage values appeared continuously above its head, causing its HP to drop to less than one-fifth of its total HP. After all, it was only a Level-45 Commander-grade monster. No matter how strong its defense was and how much HP it had, it still wasn’t strong enough to resist the hits from three assault machine guns.
In fact, the Tyrant’s claws, along with its body, were already gravely wounded. The creature had a horrifying regeneration capability, giving it the opportunity to heal its wounds with every passing second. But there was also an increasing number of bullet holes appearing on its body.
At this moment, the Tyrant finally understood what fear felt like.
“Roar!”
The Tyrant roared unwillingly, but it still fell backward immediately. Judging by its current state, it knew that if it rushed ahead without any consideration, not only was there a possibility that it would be unable to kill the enemies in front of it that it so strongly desired to consume, but it might also be a suicide mission.
He prepared to step back a little. Relying on its strong regeneration powers, it only needed a short period of time to restore enough HP to rush through the line of the blockade!
“Planning to escape again?”
On the rooftop of the Guard Bureau, Feng Luo put down his M110 and pulled out a large black pistol. The Desert Eagle!
As the Tyrant was trying to rush toward the blockade, Feng Luo had already pulled out the Desert Eagle from his tactical belt. This weapon was loaded with rare B-rank Level-38 impact bullets. The damage was not inferior to the M110, but, more importantly, the Desert Eagle allowed him to have a certain ability to deal with close-range combatants.
However, when he saw the Tyrant preparing to escape, Feng Luo couldn’t have cared less about the high value of B-rank bullets. He immediately raised his gun and prepared to shoot the Tyrant. Dealing with an ordinary Level-45 Commander monster was much less troublesome than a Tyrant in its final form.
If it was not for this open space and the help of three machine guns, there was no way they could have pinned him down. The Tyrant had already escaped once. If it got away again and went into hiding—not to mention that it would change its strategy to ambushing—it would likely cause a catastrophe. After all, this monster’s regenerative powers were too strong! Hence, Feng Luo decided to not be stingy with his bullets anymore. He shot at the Tyrant’s left leg using his Desert Eagle with a bang.
Bang!
The B-rank impact bullet looked ordinary when it first came out of the muzzle. Its spiraling speed of flight was even slower than ordinary bullets. However, when the bullet hit the Tyrant right in its left leg amid the stream of bullets, after a delay of 0.1 seconds, it was as though the air was punctured and a muffled sound.
Thud!
The Tyrant had originally retreated to the edge of the plaza. But, the next moment, its body suddenly began to seize. Its four-meter-tall body, weighing about one ton, fell straight onto the floor in a kneeling position. As it roared once more and tried to pick itself up, another round of bullets, much slower this time, hit its right leg.
******
“Is it dead?” said Mu Zi after a few seconds, finding it hard to believe.
“It’s dead!” Feng Luo holstered his Desert Eagle and nodded because the system notification had already appeared.
You participated in eliminating T-000 (Level-45 Solitary Commander). Elimination contribution: 12.8%. 1280 experience points gained.
A total of three Impact Bullets held the Tyrant down for a full six seconds. The three machine guns nuked the Tyrant until it was only left with less than one-fifth of its health, how could it have possibly endured the damage. After all, it was only a Level-45 Commander monster!
However, in all of Roguetown, this Tyrant was probably the strongest creature here. After it died, there was no way it wouldn’t drop any loot.
Within the players’ sights, at the edge of the open field, they could see three items glowing in dim white light around where the Tyrant had died. They were vials shaped like syringes. Two of them were colored green, and another one was colored blue!
******
“Brother Feng, there are incredible drops!”
By the time everyone gathered on the first floor, Mu Zi had already picked up the loot with a happy expression plastered on his face. In each of his hands were two different colored vials.
After entering the Guard Bureau, he first showed everyone the two green-colored vials.
Primary Evolution Virus (T) – One-time use medicine
After using it, it can eradicate the evolving T-virus inside the body. At the same time, it renders the user immune to the T-virus infection within an hour’s time.
“Eradicate the T-virus?”
Looking at this, the Earth Manipulator could not hide his excited expression on his face. After all, no one wanted to throw away a full level’s worth of experience, as it would take tons of time to raise it back up again.
As for Young Master Lin and the others, their faces also showed interest. Although they were not infected, it wouldn’t hurt to have a preventative measure with them.
Only the faces of Feng Luo and Sister Rui did not change much. That was because Feng Luo had already taken the antivirus vaccine; hence, they were not really interested in this medicine. What they were interested in was the other medicine. Since Mu Zi was so happy, then the really good loot must have been the blue-colored medicine.
Primary Evolution Virus (T) Strengthening medicine Type-3
