Chapter 95: Episode 26. The Army of Malicious Commander (2)

The Malicious Commander decorated himself with golden armors from top to bottom.

His eyes were hollow. Unlike skeleton soldiers, he was muscular and big. However, one could guess that he was a corpse by looking at his pale skin.

He had come to this world all of sudden, but his task was clear.

He was sent to destroy all the thieves in the world!

The Malicious Commander concluded that the world was filled with thieves. He believed that the thieves, who were trying to rob the treasure house in the abyss, had brought him and his army to this world. The commander wanted to execute the sinners and return to where he was.

He had already killed many thieves. The commander himself chopped their heads off.

The enemy used very strange devices. Some of them rode metal cages, and some used tools that made them fly in the air. Some even used magic items that could fly from unknown locations. It was hard to believe that such items existed in this world, which could not be found in the treasure house. However, he quickly concluded that his enemies were thieves in any case and that they must have stolen the items from somewhere else.

The commander utilized his skeleton soldiers and formed barriers. At the same time, he split his army into smaller groups. The thieves had great fire powers; however, the commander quickly realized that spreading apart would give their enemies a hard time. The separated groups of soldiers faithfully carried out their tasks and destroyed the thieves.

It did not take long to clean up the nearby areas.

“H-help…!”

The commander slashed the head of a live man with his sword. Then he chased after those who were fleeing. Suddenly, the Malicious Commanders’ hollow eyes shifted towards the horizon.

“What is that?”

His eyes met a giant shadow that felt ominous. The dungeon was so large that it almost touched the sky!

The Malicious Commander stood still and stared at the structure for a long time.

Soon, he realized what the structure was.

“Sons of Darkness.”

He could sense a rather ominous mana. Although the commander and his army belonged to the darkness, their loyalty towards the emperor had not changed. However, the Sons of Darkness had no such loyalty. They frequently tried to invade Middle Earth and kill the emperor. The Sons of Darkness were always hungry for the great power that the emperor had and wanted to steal it.

“Demons… I will kill them.”

The Malicious Commander now looked very determined.

It was Marquis Anastasia.

She was a demon working for Archduke Pandemonium, but she was still lingering around the dungeon in Korea.

The number of remaining monsters was small, but she wanted to take a chance and find out the identity of the owner of this dungeon.

“The owner of this dungeon should at least be a duke or an archduke. If I can find out the owner of this dungeon, Archduke Pandemonium will have a higher chance of victory.”

Knowing the location and the owner of a dungeon is very helpful. Anastasia could pressure the owner by mentioning what happened during this event. Furthermore, she might be able to make use of her knowledge strategically later. Therefore, the knowledge of the owner and the location was useful for Anastasia.

Few other demons had the similar thoughts as Anastasia. However, Anastasia believed that the other demons were checking on her.

“Hahaha, I guess they don’t want to reveal the owner of the dungeon?”

The monsters around the dungeon were indeed powerful. Such monsters included several high Golems, several Spartoi, Liches, and thousands of intermediate monsters… Anastasia wondered who the owner of the dungeon could be. Who could command such a powerful army of monsters?

Anastasia wanted to find out the owner’s identity for the sake of her curiosity. The number of points that one could earn by defeating the invading awakened heroes was very limited. If one wanted to earn more points by increasing the number of breeding species, they could not purchase high monsters due to the lack of points. One the other hand, if one spent all their points on purchasing high monsters, then they would be able to afford only a small number of breeding species.

During the initial phase, Anastasia made her move without much thought. However, now she realized that balancing the number of breeding species and the high monsters was very important.

Now, everything boiled down to points.

It would cost a fortune to purchase the army of monsters that she was seeing around the dungeon. Besides, Golems and Liches were not breeding species. The owner of the dungeon must have spent at least three million points. If other intermediate monsters were taken into consideration, the budget would increase up to six million points.

Anastasia could not believe that anyone could earn so many points in just two years.

Then one demon came to her mind.

“Randalph Bruciel.”

Randalph was a maverick, who took all of the most important items from the auction, including the highest monsters.

He spent millions of points without hesitation. At the same time, Randalph was not part of any of the four factions. Yet, he was very bold in his moves. Anastasia could not tell if he was just simply bold or confident.

Many archdukes were interested in recruiting him. All four archdukes were. Of course, all of them had different intentions.

However, Randalph was an exception this time.

“There is no way that he could collect such monsters for his dungeon after spending so many points.’

If that army of monsters was Randalph’s, it was a miracle. It was nearly impossible to have so many points. Even if Randalph was lucky enough to complete a few achievements, the maximum that he could earn would be a few million.

Therefore, the owner of the dungeon must be someone besides Randalph. At least no one from her faction could be the owner. As a result, Anastasia became more interested in finding out who was the owner of the dungeon.

“Marquis Anastasia, why don’t we start moving?”

Medusa talked to her. She was a high monster of level four. Medusa’s head looked like that of a snake. Her tongue and her lower body were also those of a snake. Besides these parts, other parts of her body were those of a human.

“Do you also want to kill the warriors?”

A few demons who were not satisfied with the current event started attacking Korea. However, they had already used up many monsters, and they attacked separately. As a result, many of the demons were defeated.

Anastasia laughed at them. They were fools.

She thought about the warriors and humans.

The skills that the warriors used were impressive. Without monsters of high levels, it was hard to slaughter humans. Demons, who had already lost high monsters while hunting celestial beings, would not dare combat them. They would receive more damages for sure.

There was a reason that the demon god came up with this kind of game. Humans had the strength to defend.

Long-term plans were a good solution. The demons could focus on increasing the number of monsters and recovering their strengths from the Devildom. It was hard to destroy mankind at this time.

The doom of mankind was nearing every hour.

However, it had not arrived yet. Most demons did not know about this fact. Underestimating mankind, they hurriedly deployed their monsters and lost many of them. Anastasia could not help but laugh at such demons.

“No, my lady. I have not seen Marquis Delate and his demons since yesterday.”

Medusa nodded.

Then Anastasia frowned.

When she started thinking about what had happened, she realized that she had not seen Delate since yesterday.

“Where did they go?”

Yes, there was a quest.

It was an instant quest. The message explaining the quest was not detailed. It only stated that the owner of the dungeon should stop the attack. Besides, there was no reward for the quest. As a result, Anastasia had been ignoring the quest. However, the enemy was now at her doorstep.

“The army must have attacked Delate’s dungeon, too!”

Anastasia became anxious.

She only had so many monsters left in her dungeon for defense.

If she let it be, she would lose the dungeon. And she could not afford to lose it.

Anastasia quickly turned around.

“Retreat to the dungeon. As soon as possible!”

After I found out that most of the demons who were lingering around my dungeon were gone, I clicked my tongue.

“They are doing their job pretty well.”

The term would last for only ninety days.

Purchasing this particular item was equivalent to signing a contract with mercenaries, who would not even obey my orders. However, the commander and his army were doing the most basic job.

They moved on from attacking mankind to start attacking dungeons.

The demons found out about the attacks, and they prepared to return to their respective dungeons.

However, I was not happy.

It had only been ten days.

The Doom Contribution score had risen to 0.01 percent. Had I included the men that I had slaughtered in the past, the total human casualties were tens of thousands. If the death rate persisted, the Doom Contribution score would soon be 0.1 percent.

“I hope that the army falls apart while they are attacking other dungeons.”

If the commander and the army moved on from mankind and attacked other demons, I would be benefitting from that. However, it was very hard to predict the commander.

The commander was indeed a headache for me. My goal was to eliminate all demons, and their contribution would not mean anything.

The best scenario was that the commander and his army all die while fighting other demons.

“My Dungeon Master, we have received news from our scouts.”

Krithli took a couple of steps forward and reported to me.

To find the location of Saman’s dungeon, I had purchased and deployed two hundred Shades. And finally, I received news from them.

“Are the monsters in the dungeon going crazy?”

“Yes, master. I believe that the scouts spotted several monsters lingering around the dungeon. They seemed to have escaped the dungeon. It also looks like the entrance to the dungeon is completely blocked. Finally, most of the monsters became agitated.”

I nodded my head.

I was quite sure that the fairies of the dungeon must have felt anxious after their Dungeon Master fell. They must have released the monsters around the dungeon. The purpose of the release was to prevent any invaders from entering the dungeon. However, such a course of action must have had impacts on the monsters, too.

“What is the location?”

“Please give me a moment.”

Krithli took out a crystal ball from her pocket and carefully showed it to me.

“Here it is.”

Soon, the crystal ball was activated and showed a dungeon.

I could also see Orcs lingering around the dungeon.

“Here it is.”

After I carefully looked at the other monsters, I remained silent for a moment. There were chances that the dungeon was not Saman’s, but it was very likely to be.

I turned and moved towards the first floor.

“Prepare the fast monsters. I will move at once.”

Different monsters were ready for the pursuit, which were two hundred Saber Tigers, Spartoi, Liches, and finally Griffin!

Everything was ready.

The monsters, which were ready for the conquest, were powerful enough to conquer a dungeon without an owner.

On top of that, I was participating in the conquest. My monsters and I were more than enough to conquer Saman’s forsaken dungeon.

I was bringing more than what I needed, in case I ended up running into the Malicious Commander after a successful conquest.

“For now, I would have to check with my own eyes.”

Tsk tsk. I clicked my tongue and hardened my face.

Then I thought about the Malicious Commander. I had spent six thousand achievement points to purchase the commander, but he betrayed my expectation. It had been a while since the last time I experienced such a betrayal. If I could get refunded for the mistake, I would have demanded it. However, I could not get my points back no matter what, and I got mad at the fact that I could not get refunded. Of course, I would not just sit down and complain. That is not my style.

I wanted to check out the commander myself. I wanted to see how great he was and how he dared make such a fuss around the world.

No one knew about the commander as much as I did. If I could persuade him to work for me, that would be the best scenario. However, if the commander did not comply with my wish, I would have to eliminate him myself.

“Before everything begins…”

Conquering Saman’s dungeon was the top priority.

If I let it be, the other demons who were clever enough would get greedy for it.

The only reason that the other demons could not get a hand on the dungeon was because of the chaos that the commander and his army had brought into this world. If the chaos passed or the other demons got used to this chaos, then they would get greedy for the new dungeon for sure. I needed to conquer the dungeon first before everything settled.

“Go now.”

Nodding my head, I left for the dungeon in Japan.

Upon arriving, I advanced to China using the Island Turtle, which was waiting down in the ocean.
