Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 56
Chapter 56: Episode 15. Gigante (2)
My vision did not change. Everything looked the same as before. However, there was still a big change. I could surely feel the difference.
My soul felt much clearer. My mana was very stable, and the wound had healed. The Lightning God, who was jumping inside of me, became livelier than it was before.
‘I need to see the status window.’
I knew the easiest way to identify any changes in me.
Soon, a status window appeared on the front of my vision.
Name: Randalph Bruciel
Job: Duke of Magic (Dungeon Master)
Title:

Randalph Bruciel has the title of Dungeon Hunter (when occupying a dungeon or hunting monsters, remaining abilities +1), Unbreakable Warrior (Ex U, all abilities +2), and the first person to receive the blessing of Elves (U, mana+6)

Statistics:
Strength 79 (+9) Intelligence 72 (+2)
Agility 74 (+2) Health point 80 (+2) Mana 85 (+8)
Potential (390+23/500)
Remaining abilities: 3
Electric Power: 16GW
Special note: The heart of Hell Lord is partially awakened.
Skill: Randalph Bruciel has the following skills: Skill combination (R), Eyes of Mind (Ex U), Spirit of Electric Power, and Anger (Epic)
[Before and after comparison]
Strength 88 Intelligence 66 Agility 76 Health point 82 Mana 90 Potential (379+23/500)
Strength 88 Intelligence 74 Agility 76 Health point 82 Mana 93 Potential (390+23/500)
My intelligence greatly increased. It increased by eight. The increased intelligence was like finding an oasis in the middle of the desert. Low intelligence had always been my major drawback.
On top of that, my mana increased by three. Any increase in mana above 90 was a huge difference and an increase of three was definitely a tremendous gain.
In addition…I had the electric power of 64 megawatts in the past, but now that power increased to 16 gigawatts. One gigawatt was equal to 1,000 megawatts, so my electric power increased by a factor of 250. If I mastered Lightning God Power to level 12, the electric power would be 4 gigawatts. My statistics were nearing that value, and it was only off by a factor of 4.
Finally, one of my skills had changed.
The three question marks on Lightning God Power had disappeared. Instead, there was another skill named Spirit of Electric Power.
I thought about the spirits of epic grades.
It was very rare to find even a normal spirit skill that was above a rare grade.
The skill that I had, which was in an epic grade, was one of the best spirits that I could possibly get.
I called the lightning god, who was busily running inside of my body.
‘Come out.’
Blast!
Something in the form of a long snake escaped from my body as soon as I called it. The size of it was about the size of a head, but it had a great presence.
This snake was the lightning god. It had run around inside of my body, and I imagined that it would be very similar to a snake. It looked like my imagination, after all. I nodded and looked around.
“You have kept me waiting for a long time.”
“You blocked it. It changed. I am waiting! I am a knight!”
Gigante looked at me with curiosity rather than hostility for a moment.
I grinned.
I imagined that Gigante got curious because I blocked his attack, which was the full-powered Gigantic Slash. Gigante used to be a knight who supported gods, which I saw from the status window.
He was not the most intelligent monster, but he knew how to respect his opponents.
Luckily, he did not make any moves like blowing my brains out.
‘Well, a gift is a gift.’
I did not expect a response like that, but such a gift was always welcome.
Nothing turned out as I had planned. Sometimes there were surprises that I could not even imagine. Perhaps that was the reason that playing this game to become a Dark Lord was so fun.
I had come back, and there were still surprises everywhere. There were still so many events and surprises that I had not experienced in my previous life. Such a thought always made me clench my fists hard.
I did not want to take the easy road to become Dark Lord, doing everything as planned. I wanted to explore and conquer before I reached the top of Devildom. The title of Dark Lord was nothing more than a title. Even if I got it, I would feel empty.
I would not accept myself in the first place had I taken the easy way.
“Then let us start the second round.”
It was the beginning of full-fledged combat.
The Lightning God had evolved into the Spirit of Electric Power!
At first, I thought the size of the snake was around that of a head. When the combat began, it greatly inflated its body. Soon, it no longer had the size of a snake but of a dragon. Its presence terrified whatever was around it.
With the help of an epic-graded skill and my high mana, the Lightning God now could easily penetrate Gigantic Slash.
‘One drawback is that the skill eats up the electric power too quickly.’
The total amount of my electrical power was 16 gigawatts.
I was spending my electric power at a fast rate, which was about one gigawatt per minute.
At this rate, I could use Lightning God for sixteen minutes at most.
’16 minutes is enough.’
Lightning God was indeed very useful. It had fabulous attacking abilities, which neutralized Gigante’s Gigantic Slash and penetrated the Chest of Earth.
Gigantes was continuing to accumulate damages due to his small anti-mana power. He could continue to stand my attacks only because of his large health points.
“Ahhhh!”
Lightning God and I attacked Gigante from both sides. He was barely conscious after the bombardment. Gigante resisted hard by wildly swinging his club and using all his skills. However, his defeat was only a matter of time. Lightning God ended up binding Gigante’s entire body, making him unable to move.
‘This Gigante is surely very powerful.’
I was slightly scared by how powerful Gigante was.
He was trying to escape from Lightning God, who completely trapped him with pure muscles. His strength exceeded 90 and was reaching 94. He sure was very powerful in strength and perhaps he could cut off the mana.
Gigante’s violent resistance made me spend my electric power twice as fast as I used to. I could only hold him for the next few minutes.
I decided to put an end to the combat.
“This, what is it? You did not have this!” Gigante shouted with a beastly voice.
I shrugged my shoulders.
“Thanks to your waiting, I had the time to learn a new skill. Haven’t you noticed that I changed?”
Gigante was aware of the change that was coming within my body. Therefore, he waited until I completed the transformation.
Lightning God was my skill, and technically I only fought him. Gigante could not complain about fighting two different opponents.
As I expected, Gigante admitted his defeat as I approached him with Anger held in my hands.
“Krrr! Lost!”
“Did I pass the test?”
“Yes! I now follow you.”
Fweet!
I put Anger back in its case and called Lightning God to return.
Lightning God’s body quickly shrunk and was soon sucked into my body.
‘I now have two highest monsters.’
I was now the owner of Griffin and Gigante!
Owning these monsters was an outstanding achievement given that I got them in less than two years.
The number of highest monsters was very limited even near the end of a war. Only those who were above or equal to Dukes could own a high-level monster…I looked at Gigante contentedly.
Boom!
Then Gigante, full of wounds, knelt on one knee.
“Master!”
I came out of the altar with Gigante.
Krithli was waiting for me in front of the collapsed wall.
“You are safe.”
“You have a lot of worries.” I spoke lightly.
The mana overflow during the combat was unexpected and a little bit dangerous. However, I needed not use my last resort, ‘Anger.’ I could not predict all the little details of combat, but I was quite sure that I would not lose.
“I am a faithful servant. I have been worried.”
“If you have any other problems, tell me. I am in a good mood today, so I can do one thing for you.”
I’d had a great day, and I achieved so much.
A high monster, Gigante, promised loyalty. My intelligence, which used to be my biggest drawback, increased. Finally, the grade of my skill upgraded. Indeed, I was very happy about these achievements.
Then Krithli’s cheeks turned pink.
“W-well, then…my dungeon master. Tonight…”
I could not continue talking anymore. However, I knew exactly what Krithli was implying.
We never touched each other after our ceremony. Krithli must have been waiting for me.
The rigorous combat and the threat of death triggered something.
I, too, wanted to release my desire.
“I do not think we need to wait until night.”
I kissed Krithli hard.
Then we moved to the place where we’d had the ceremony. Krithli and I stayed there for another three days.
I finished attaining a dungeon in Japan.
During that process, I obtained some items that Adol had possessed. Out of all the items, two seemed useful.
‘Dungeon Crystal Ball and the seed of Tree of World. They seem pretty good.’
Dungeon Crystal Ball was a magical item that allowed the user to view the entire inside of a dungeon. It would have cost 100,000 points if I’d tried to buy it. Thanks to Adol, he already paid the money, and I could just use the item.
The second useful item was the seed of Tree of World. The seed allowed the user to change the nearby terrains.
The place where the seed of Tree of World was planted would become a dense forest overnight. The forest boasted a huge size that was incomparable to the tiny forest that Lyhee made secretly. With the help of the seed, I would be able to transform an entire floor into a forest.
‘The item was not in the shop for everything…’
I remembered that the item had come out in a previous Auction of Devildom.
However, I did not remember seeing the seed in the very last Auction of Devildom.
Adol must have gotten it through some other ways, but I did not know how.
Anyways, the seed would be useful if planted in the floor where the Dark Elves dwelled.
Dark Elves, by their nature, were stronger in forests. If I was lucky, perhaps I would get a real Tree of World. Of course, the chances of getting a Tree of World were slim. However, if I really did get it, the entire dungeon would enjoy tremendous privileges, which could include an increased reproduction rate or the chance of Spirit of Nature coming into the dungeon…the item surely excited me.
“Is the link connected?”
“I am almost done. Just give me a little bit more time.”
Fairy Guyo was sweating and working hard on the Dungeon Core. The fairy was trying to connect the link between the dungeon in Korea and the one in Japan.
There were transportation magic squares that allowed a dungeon master to travel between his or her dungeons within Korea. I thought that if the two dungeons in Korean and Japan, despite their locations in different countries, were confirmed as ‘my dungeons’, I would be able to make a link between them, which would allow me to easily travel between them.
I did not want to walk to my dungeon in Korea.
My prediction was correct.
“Ah! Master, the link is connected!”
Soon the Dungeon Core began to resonate.
Bang!
The barrier located at the outer wall of the dungeon opened up for a short period of time, and waves of mana shuttled between Japan and Korea. The mana wave was very powerful, and whatever that was exposed to this wave shivered.
The red light that poured from Dungeon Core then stretched straight. The dungeon in Korea beamed out the same light. The two lights met each other somewhere on the East Sea.
The lights intertwined with each other. They soared up and down, creating ‘the Wall of Light’, that connected Korea and Japan.
It was such a tremendous sight, and everyone was awed.
The wall disappeared about 30 seconds later.
“This is it.”
A transportation magic square was engraved near the Dungeon Core.

My monsters and I who left for an expedition in a dungeon in Japan had returned.
Although I was gone for a while, the dungeon in Korea did not change much.
There was one thing that did change; Lyhee was flapping her wings in a frantic manner.
“Master. Who is Guyo? What? What kind of fairy is he? I counted on you…I thought Lyhee would be the only fairy, but I am disappointed.”
“Are you concerned about who will be Fairy King? You need not worry; you are ahead of Guyo for now.”
Only one fairy could become Fairy King.
I wanted to make my fairies compete for that position.
Not all of them could become Fairy King. However, the competition would help them improve in general. The competition would be beneficial rather than harmful.
The more a fairy improved, the stronger candidate for Fairy King he or she would be. Fairies are spiritual beings, and they enjoy longevity.
“Huh. That is not what I am disappointed at. I am sad because my master is having an affair. I do not even want to prepare the honey tea for you anymore.”
“How rude! You small fairy!”
“What the hell are you?”
Lyhee discovered Gigante, a new face, and beamed at him.
“Small! Master, rude!” Gigante frowned his face even more, which was already very scary.
Lyhee, who was staring at Gigante for a while, looked away quietly.
“D-do you think L-Lyhee would be scared by you? L-Lyhee is a fairy of the Dungeon Core! I, I can bother stuff just like how I bother honeybees. Even if you beg for mercy, I will not forgive you!”
Lyhee put her hands on both sides. However, she still avoided meeting Gigante’s eyes. Even if she was a fairy of the Dungeon Core, she was scared of Gigante.
I shook my head at this series of noises.
“Lyhee, please give me the list of all possible breeds that are available in the store for everything.”
I wanted to find all breeds that fit the dungeon in Korea.
Lyhee stretched out her finger.
“You, you. You are lucky today. Well, if you d-did not have the master here, I would have kicked your ass. I am quite busy today, so I will move on from this,” Lyhee said in a scolding manner, but her body was shivering.
Gigante seemed to be scared of her.
