Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 51
Chapter 51: Episode 14. Where the Gods Fell (4)
When the Island Turtle laid down in the ocean, it started to become massive.
All the wrinkles were gone when it absorbed water and became 100 times bigger than its original size, looking like a small island.
The monsters stepped onto the Island Turtle, and I joined the monsters on the island.
As soon as I finished my job in Korea, I arrived at the East Sea’s shore.
Just like Krithli, I was also wearing half of a skull mask covering the right side of my face, while she was covering the left side of her face.
It looked like we had split one mask and shared it.
Dark black smoke was hovering around me. It was just a smoke-shaped monster called “Shade” that I had placed around me so that people couldn’t recognize me at all.
However, the smoke and the skull mask combo made people feel some kind of grotesque fear.
“That wasn’t bad.”
Standing next to Krithli, I praised her acting.
She acted much better than I had expected. It was a bit awkward in the beginning, but she was able to play the role properly soon enough.
Nobody would doubt that she was the real dungeon master.
Krithli blushed and thanked me. “I felt like I was wearing someone else’s shoes.”
“You should get used to it.”
“I’ll keep that in mind, my dungeon master.”
She answered without even looking at me. I had explained to her the advanced science of humans, so she was trying her best to be careful.
This was why it was easy to work with Krithli; she was passionate enough to understand more when I explained one thing, and she was smart enough to do so. She was also able to read a situation quickly, so I didn’t have to explain what to do all the time. She trained Pyrok before I asked her to, and when I gave her a simple script, she acted just like I wanted her to act.
“Let’s go.”
Finally, all the monsters were on the Island Turtle, and I commanded for us to depart. Compressed air came out from cracks on the Island Turtle’s shell to create a strong air shield around its own body.
The Island Turtle was a good form of transport for an army due to this air shield. This shield also had defensive power, so the turtle wouldn’t be affected by most kinds of shocks.
Soon, the Island Turtle submerged into the ocean.
The monster wave from Korea was broadcasted all around the world via satellites, and leaders of countries noticed that the monsters didn’t go back to the dungeon. Instead, they were heading somewhere.
Everyone was anxious to know where the monsters were going.
When people saw a gigantic turtle submerged in the East Sea, their jaws dropped. A monster turtle had become a hundred times bigger and disappeared with all the monsters on it.
People sent battleships and submarines to find the turtle, but it was already too late.
The giant turtle reappeared in Kamakura in the Kanakawa District of Japan.
When we arrived at Sagami Bay, I looked around.
In Kamakura, there were no huge buildings, but there were many small residential houses.
‘We should walk from here.’
I wanted to march to Tokyo where the dungeon was placed, but Tokyo Bay wasn’t deep enough for the turtle to move underwater, so I decided to come here, a city not too far from Tokyo, and walk.
The Island Turtle went back into the ocean when all the monsters had climbed off. All I had to do was use a little Mana when I needed to call it again.
“Where are we?” Krithli asked, looking a bit confused.
“Japan, another human country.”
“…There will be more fuzz around here.”
Krithli understood the situation quickly and smiled bitterly.
“M-monsters! Run!”
“Huh? Those are monsters? Aren’t they shooting a movie?”
People around us started screaming and running away, although there were many people who didn’t…
Anyway, it was a matter of time before the Japanese Self-Defense Forces arrived.
I told her with a cold smile, “It will take half a day. We’ll crush everything that’s trying to stand in our way.”
Half a day was a very conservative figure. It would take only a few hours to get to Tokyo with all the monsters.
I had already made a scene in Korea, and there was no reason not to do the same in Japan. This land would be under my command soon, so I had to show a shocking scene to set up the ambiance.
“Destroy them all.”
At my command, eight Golems started to step on everything in sight.
Some thought it was just a promotional event and tried to take photos with their phones, some understood the situation and started to run away, and others disappeared into a few dozen mansions and malls.
There was no building taller than 20 feet, while Golems were around 26 feet tall. It was easy for Golems to destroy a thing by merely stepping on or tapping it.
Bang! Bang!
The police force of the city came, but they were practically useless. Their handguns couldn’t handle anything more than some Kobolds or Knols.
These were the lowest level monsters among the low-level monsters, so for mid and high-level monsters, handguns were like a tickle.
The police force wasn’t enough to slow us down, and Golems were crashing police cars, twisting them up to look like beef jerky.
I let the gigantic Golems lead and followed them, watching the city become ruins.
Dark Elf and Pyrok were eliminating anyone who was trying to stop us, and Lychi turned dead bodies into zombies, then lined them up to march with us. There were more than 300 zombies marching with us already.
‘Totally worth the price.’
Expensive monsters were always worth the points.
Lychi was working hard as if it had to prove that it was a high-level Level-4 monster that had cost 280,000 points.
Griffin was better at destruction, but Lychi was making people freak out by triggering the humans’ fundamental fear, which made everything easier.
Griffin flew low to let Krithli, who was standing on it, talk to me.
“Dungeon Master, human soldiers aren’t far from us.”
That was quick. It had been less than 30 minutes since we arrived at Sagami Bay.
The reaction was twice as faster than it had been in Korea, which was quite impressive.
“I won’t go with you. I think Griffin is enough.”
“Yes, Master,” Krithli answered as she kicked Griffin gently.
Griffin spread its wings and flew up to the sky.
Soon enough, it melted the Japanese Self-Defense Forces down using its fire and lightning skills.
Japan’s dungeon placed in a 1.8-mile area, with Edogawa Park in Tokyo as its center. It looked like it was quite different from the dungeon in Korea, but the structure was almost the same.
The outside was just the surface. When one walked into the dungeon, it was completely different from the outside. It was 35 stories high, higher than the Korean one, and I remembered that it was so complicated that it almost felt like a labyrinth.
‘Finally, we’re here.’
I clicked my tongue in front of the dungeon.
It took longer than I thought it would to destroy everything along the way.
Korea was my base camp, so I tried to take care of the place a bit, but here was just enemy territory. This dungeon was managed by Adol, who was under Archduke Ufa, so I decided to smash everything as a declaration of war.
Well, Adol wouldn’t care anything about what happened to Japan but… It was just a formality. Soon, this country would be under my control, and I thought it was important to plant fear.
‘Adol, I’m back.’
This was completely different from how I had come here in my former life.
Back then, I was just a loser who had lost my dungeon, and I came without thinking it through to take over the dungeon in Japan.
Of course, it had been impossible. I had to run for my life with a cut-off arm. I couldn’t find any potion, so I struggled a lot to reattach my arm.
Just thinking about it made me shiver with shame.
But now… the dungeon in front of me looked small and weak.
Could Adol stop me this time?
Back then, I was alone, but now, I had many powerful monsters backing me up.
Griffin, Lychi, Dark Elf, and Pyrok!
Moreover, I was stronger than ever.
‘Please don’t disappoint me.’
I slowly entered the dungeon.
Unlike my dungeon, Adol’s dungeon didn’t place monsters by level. It was a messy mix, and nobody took care of the monsters.
It was almost funny to see the Orc Shaman at the entrance. It was way too strong for a regular awakened hero to even think of walking in, and then some random monsters like a Knol Champion and Arc Goblin came out.
I was sure that Adol hadn’t hired them, so they had to be naturally born mutant monsters, but there were so many. It was unnatural to have so many mutant monsters in a dungeon.
I was a bit envious of the variety, but when I looked around, it seemed like only the strong had survived. This would eventually destroy the ecosystem completely, and awakened heroes couldn’t grow in this kind of environment.
It was a vicious cycle.
Adol’s ignorance had caused this.
‘Not too different from what I saw in my former life.’
I had no idea on which floors Adol had placed monsters, but it was clear that this would be a repeating pattern. I’d seen it before, so it was easy to be sure about that.
“I’ll lead from here.”
I was the only one who knew the structure of this dungeon.
It had a lot of paths that were like labyrinths, so I had to lead the monsters.
I channeled my rage and slayed everything, moving quickly through the dungeon.
***
On the top floor of the dungeon, the fairy of Dungeon Core approached Adol, who was having sexual intercourse with Orcs.
“Dungeon Master, there’s an intruder.”
Adol stopped what he was doing for a second, looking furious.
“You dirty idiot! I told you not to bother me when I’m doing this!”
“B-but I can feel massive Mana. There are eight Golems of all kinds and a Griffin…”
“Nuthead! Griffin is the highest-level monster! There’s no way for anyone to get it!”
Adol was telling it to cut the nonsense, but the fairy of Dungeon Core tried to explain in tears.
“I’m telling you… Another devil is attacking us.”
“Guyo! You useless idiot. This isn’t the first time you’ve talked sh*t like this. Last time I forgave you, although it was unforgivable for a useless fairy to play with the devil. Now, you’ve lost your mind.”
The fairy’s name was Guyo.
Guyo was being playful and made a joke, but that was a huge mistake.
Unlike what Adol had said, Adol never forgave a joke.
Although fairies didn’t have physical bodies, there were numerous ways to torture faires. For the first time, Guyo regretted being born.
Adol was perverted enough to have sexual intercourse with Orcs, and insults were simply a daily thing, but Guyo still looked desperate.
Guyo had lied once, but this time was different. This was real.
The highest-level monsters, Griffins, and other high-level monsters were climbing up the dungeon.
They didn’t stop or hesitate, as if they somehow already knew where they were heading.
Time was running out to defend the dungeon, but Adol was laughing at Guyo.
Guyo was sad that Adol wouldn’t trust him anymore and was just swearing at him.
“I’m telling you the truth—”
Grunt!
Adol just ignored him and continued to do what he had been doing.
Guyo’s desperate voice was ignored by Adol.
