Chapter 38: Episode 10. The Guild of Heaven’s Will (1)
It was inside of a guild house located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam.
The Guild of Heaven’s Will was the only guild that purchased a five-story building and used it as a guild house.
Kim Yongwoo was able to purchase a building in Gangnam in less than one year since the dungeon was created. He sure was very good at running business, and people rumored that the guild was as tight and competitive as how good Kim Yongwoo was in business.
However, for some reason, hundreds of people were lining up in front of the guild house of The Guild of Heaven’s Will.
“Awakened hero number 359! Awakened hero number 359, please come in!”
Several helpers in yellow, conspicuous clothing were soliciting people in front of the building.
The man in the very front of the long line showed his number tag and followed the guild member into the building.
Krathra looked at them curiously and asked, “Is this building the Guild of Heaven’s Will, Master?”
“Yes.” I nodded lightly.
I explained several things, including the Guild of Heaven’s Will, while climbing down the mountain with Krathra. I told him about the guild because we would be staying there for a while, and I thought he must know about it. However, I, too, was a little bit confused.
I had never seen such a large number of people lining up in front of the guild house.
‘Are they all awakened heroes?’
I looked at the people in line through the Eyes of Mind. Indeed, all of them were awakened heroes.
‘Perhaps they are recruiting new members.’
It was the right time to recruit new members and increase the number of guild members.
The guild preempted the safety zone and established the infrastructure for stable core supply. The Guild of Heaven’s Will had become a leading guild in the Republic of South Korea.
In order to make the next aggressive move, the guild needed more members.
“The Earth is a very interesting place. All of the buildings are very tall.”
Krathra was amazed.
He was amazed at almost everything that he had seen since he came down the mountain.
The earth and the magic world were different places. Krathra, who had only lived in the harsh magic world, could not help but remain surprised.
However, he was not overwhelmed.
Krathra soon realized that nothing was interesting in this world besides science and technologies.
He thought about the zone for the strong.
Krathra came from the world where winners took everything.
He learned that no warrior in this world was strong enough to threaten him. He became relaxed as though he was on a cruise.
In fact, if Krathra wished to take action, he could bring unprecedented disasters in Korea. It was not a hypothesis, but a conviction.
Krathra’s statistics summed up to 362, which was equivalent to that of a high monster in level 3. No modern weapon would work on him.
I clicked my tongue and spoke. :This place seems worse than others. Anyway…let’s go in.”
No other place boasted buildings as high as those in Gangnam.
Krathra would run into these tall buildings everyday, and there was no time for getting surprised at every single of them.
I walked toward the entrance of the guild house without giving a damn.
It would have been funny if I, who was the unit leader of Devil Hunter of the Guild of Heaven’s Will, had to stand in line to get in.
“What is that?”
“Do not cut in line!”
“You son of a bitch, what are your eyes for! Do you not see this line?”
A storm of complaints burst out.
Some awakened heroes even swore at me.
“Master, what should I do in situations like this?” Krathra frowned and asked me.
I was glad that he asked before making any moves. Had he tried to take actions recklessly, I would have scolded him badly.
Krathra asked my opinion carefully, which showed that he had learned his position in the power hierarchy. Slaves must wait until their master gave them orders.
“Ignore them.”
“Alright.”
We could not respond to every single complaint.
Above all, it was waste of time.
When I was about to enter the building, a man in yellow clothes stopped me.
“If you want to join the guild, please line up.”
“Who are you?”
“My name is Kim Cheolsoon, and I am a member of the Guild of Heaven’s Will. If you do not line up, you cannot enter the building.”
I had never heard about Kim Cheolsoon. I doubted there was such a person in the guild.
I could not recognize his face.
Perhaps he recently joined the guild while I was away.
“My name is Randalph Bruciel, and I am the unit leader of the Devil Hunter attacking squad of the Guild of Heaven’s Will.”
“There is no such a unit in our guild.”
“That cannot be true. I was away for a while. I am sure that Yoo Eunhye and Lee Jihye are also in the squad?”
“No one in our guild has such names. If you are here to fool around, could you please go away?”
Something must have gone wrong.
I had been away quite often, but I had never encountered such a situation.
Of course, it was the first time that I had been gone for a month, but I could not believe that the attacking unit no longer existed.
However, looking at Kim Cheolsoon’s actions and his reactions to my questions, the unit seemed to have disappeared.
Furthermore, Yoo Eunhye and Lee Jihye were also gone.
‘It is very strange.’
It was definitely very strange.
Even if the attacking unit had gone, the guild members of the unit should still be in the guild. However, Kim Cheolsoon seemed like he had never heard about Yoo Eunhye and Lee Jihye.
Kim Cheolsoon started to frown like a crumpled can.
“Can you please go away? Do you think those in the line have nothing to do? Ah, fuck. Are you a foreigner who cannot speak Korean? Randalph whatever?”
“Master, are you ignoring this too?” Krathra asked what I was thinking.
The magic earrings translated even the unnecessary details, and one of the words Kim Cheolsoon uttered was a very vulgar insult.
I put my thoughts together for a moment and said, “Is Kim Yongwoo inside?”
“What the heck, do you think the guild master is your friend or something?”
“Is he inside?”
“What are you going to do if he is inside? This guy is driving me mad.”
Kim Cheolsoon grabbed me by the shoulder.
He tried to push me away physically, but I did not budge even little bit.
“Oh, what? Why is he not moving?”
He seemed to be a fighter confident who was about his strength, but his strength was not impressive to me. He was a nobody whose statistics went barely above 180!
“Get Kim Yongwoo, or tell him I will go visit him myself.”
“What is going on?”
Other new guild members in yellow clothes appeared one by one.
Kim Cheolsoon was standing still and others came to see what was going on.
He took his hands from my shoulder, and he shrugged his shoulder, giving a triumphant look.
“Well…he called the guild master like he was calling his friend next door. He said he is the unit leader of Devil Hunter attack unit? We do not have such a unit in our guild, do we?”
“Devil Hunter? What a boss name.”
“They both look like foreigners. One is black, and the other is white. Both of them are good looking. Are they models? Did they find the wrong building?”
It seemed that they were ignoring my words.
I tried to go in quietly and figure out the situation. Unfortunately, it seemed that I could not go that way.
“…I will have to go see him myself.”
I gave Krathra a look.
Krathra nodded and untied the spear holder on his back.
A red spear popped out from the long spear holder, which was made out of metal.
“Should I kill him?”
“Leave him alive. Just break a part of his body.”
“Alright.”
Kim Cheolsoon and other guild members looked puzzled.
The guild members believed that they were competitive enough be recruited as the members. The members thought that Krathra alone could not do any harm to them.
Kim Cheolsoon and other members drew their weapons.
“Why don’t you just go away quietly when I am giving you a chance? We cannot take things easily in combat.”
Keeping his composure, Kim Cheolsoon drew out his sword and laughed wryly. He received the rare graded sword for his outstanding performance among his peers, who were all recently recruited to the guild.
The sword was under the magic of teleportation and had tremendous cutting power, which altogether improved the wielder’s skills to the next level. Kim Cheolsoon could not help but smiled confidently.
“I have seen that sword somewhere.”
The sword looked like one of those that I used and threw away all over in the dungeon.
In other words, the sword must have come from my dungeon.
It was not something that one would boast about. However, seeing someone else using it proudly, I felt strange.
“Let us get started, Master. Five seconds will be enough.” Krathra held the spear in his hand.
“Ah! You do not seem to understand me! Do not regret…!”
Everything happened before he finished his last word.
Swish!
“Ahh!”
Kim Cheolsoon got the back of his head hit by the end of spear and fell like a frog. The same thing happened to the two other guild members.
Three guild members were lying on the floor in a very disordered fashion. Krathra said it would take five seconds, but everything happened in less than that. Beating three men in such a short period time was surely astonishing!
Hundreds of prospective guild members were at the scene watching the fight.
“Master, their bones are so soft, so I only made them faint. Should I break their bones?” Krathra asked me while putting his leg on top of Kim Cheolsoon’s right arm.
The power difference between Krathra and Kim Cheolsoon was so large that if Krathra was mistaken and applied too much force, he could take Kim Cheolsoon’s life, not just break his arm.
Krathra was cautious enough to think before making any further moves.
I shook my head.
“That is enough. Let us go.”
On entering the guild house, I soon found similar faces one by one.
All of them reacted similarly when they saw me. They were shocked as though they saw someone who had returned from death.
‘I am being treated like a dead man.’
After seeing how the guild members reacted, I was able to organize my thoughts in my head.
I had been away for more than a month, and I could not be reached by any means. It seemed that the guild regarded me as dead.
Of course, they dismissed the Devil Hunter attack squad, where I played a central role.
However, I was still not sure where Yoo Eunhye and Lee Jihye had gone.
I went into the elevator and pressed the fifth floor.
Just as the door was about to close, several other guild members got on the elevator together.
“You, you are?”
The man standing on the edge looked at me and opened his mouth wide.
“Is your name Kim Taehwan? It has been a while.”
He greeted me lightly.
He was one of the 12 people whom I conquered the first floor with. He was also quite influential within the guild.
In addition, he planned regular training sessions in dungeon, which made him quite popular.
He soon closed his open mouth and frowned.
“I heard you were dead.”
It seemed that Kim Taehwan was going to the same floor as I was. He then started at me.
I snickered and answered, “Who said that?”
“One guild member saw you entering the dungeon.”
“He is a fool. Do you not know how good I am? ”
“If a man who entered the dungeon has not come out for a month, everyone will think that he is dead.”
“So is that why you dismissed the Devil Hunter attack unit?”
Kim Taehwan’s eyebrows swerved.
“It looks like you are trying to meet the guild master, but unfortunately, there is no room for you in this guild. While you had been gone, many new talents joined the guild. I also earned a rare graded skill. I can easily deal with about two orcs.”
Kim Taehwan used an example of two orcs because that was what I showed them.
I only showed them how I dealt with two orcs.
However, Kim Taehwan’s attitude was somewhat awkward.
Confused, I asked him, “Should I congratulate you?”
“You do not understand me at all. I am telling you to leave before everything gets rough.”
Ding dong~
Soon the elevator door opened.
They arrived at the fifth floor, and they found a resting place where guild members came together and took breaks.
Kim Taehwan came out of the elevator first. Others who were behind followed him.
“Master, should I wipe all of them out?”
“No, stand still.”
Krathra asked me the question, and I answered immediately.
Now I knew what was wrong, but I needed to solve another problem first.
“I need to see the guild master.”
I would make further moves once I heard all the details about what had happened.
I did not think that Kim Yongwoo had the guts to dismiss my attack unit.
Just like Kim Taehwan, whom I’d met, other guild members must have put on pressure.
My attack unit must have been a headache to other guild members.
I had been away for a month, and Kim Yongwoo could not have resisted the pressure from other guild members to dismiss the unit.
I could understand Kim Yongwoo to that extent.
On the other hand, if the situation was different from what I expected, I could not help but punish Kim Yongwoo…
