Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 24
Chapter 24: Episode 6. 2000vs800 (4)
An Orc’s rough hands held the shoulders of an awakened hero. The Orc had enough strength to tear him up in a matter of seconds and effortlessly throw his torn body on the ground.
The Chinese awakened hero who was held by the Orc wasn’t panicked.
It was the Orc that had received 20 attacks with the sword in the blink of an eye. With 20 slashed marks on its body, the Orc spread its blood all over the place.
That was the work of the Chinese awakened hero, Lai Fung.
His Rare level could accelerate his speed in two seconds. Even the name of his skill was Acceleration. Although his strength and power were not very high, and he couldn’t use the skill many times, in a situation like this, his skill had the absolutely effective power to kill the enemy.
Lai Fung turned his head around as soon as he killed the Orc. Most of the 200 Orcs were already dead and fell down on the ground.
Kobolds and Goblins were rushing to cross the swamp on Swamp Worms, but since there were no more Orcs, they were not a real threat to the heroes.
Victory!
Lai Fung and all the other awakened heroes started to have hope.
There were still more than 500 awakened heroes left. They didn’t get into a panic and fought back well. Orcs were strong monsters, but they were still outnumbered, so the heroes were able to kill them all.
Lai Fung checked his condition.
‘I guess I can use my skill one more time.’
Acceleration.
It was a skill that guaranteed him the use of absolute power for two seconds.
With his condition, he could use it one more time, but not twice.
It was a skill that was like a double-bladed sword. If he used the skill more than he should, his whole body would tear apart into pieces.
That was enough.
The remaining monsters were a few Orcs, Kobolds, and Goblins.
“A little more! It’s almost done! The victory is in front of us!” Lai Fung shouted to everyone.
All the surviving awakened heroes from Dark Society came around him.
They made a formation for defense and attacked the remaining monsters.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
When a few hundred awakened heroes started to stamp their feet, the ground shook. That surprised the Kobolds and Goblins, and they stopped. The heroes made a formation in a row and moved together, and that made it difficult for the monsters to approach them at all.
Cling!
Moreover, Lai Fung’s sword was still sharp. He got a Rare skill because he was that good. Although he was tired of the fight, Lai Fung was still the best warrior in Dark Society.
Every time he moved his sword, the head of a monster would fall down on the ground. Blood and the dead bodies of monsters filled out the dungeon.
Some of the leaders of Kobolds and Goblins couldn’t avoid death.
Krrrr.
Kughh.
Monsters fought back hard, but that was not more than a struggle. They kept falling down on the ground.
Awakened heroes started to show smiles on their faces.
Clop. Clop.
A completely different creature appeared in front of them.
“…” Everyone was at a loss for words.
What could describe the thing that had just appeared?
Yes, like a god of death…
A god of death was the word.
Maybe it was a real god of death.
A gigantic black horse with a fire mane and tail.
There was a man riding it.
All they could see was half of his face. Half was covered with a skeleton mask. He was also wearing a black cape and holding a sword in his hand. That made all the awakened heroes silent and frozen.
As soon as they saw the guy on the horse, everyone felt extreme fear. It was like the first time they faced the monsters, but the level of fear was impossible to compare.
Lai Fung clenched his fist to stop his shaking body. He was clenching so hard that he was bleeding.
The table had turned again.
Only a few minutes ago, they were able to think that they had won this fight and kept slaying monsters with confidence.
Not anymore. The appearance of that man had just changed everything.
Soldiers in fear were useless. This was not good. Lai Fung felt strongly that he had to change this situation.
As soon as he made his decision, Lai Fung didn’t waste any time.
He had his Acceleration skill.
He even thought that even other Rare skills were not as strong and efficient as his Acceleration skill.
For two seconds, he could be invincible.
Lai Fung was sure that the guy who suddenly appeared was strong, but still, he wouldn’t be able to take 20 sword attacks in a second.
The guy was on the horse of flames, looking at Lai Fung, who was walking toward him nonchalantly.
Lai Fung thought that was good because that meant that the guy was underestimating what Lai Fung could do. It was quite shameful as a warrior, but still, he was okay with it to win this fight.
There was something that Lai Fung didn’t know about.
The man was able to see everything about Lai Fung with his eyes.
He already knew what Lai Fung was about to do.
“Ugh…!”
As soon as Lai Fung reached the man, he activated his Acceleration skill.
Everything else in the world slowed down, and Lai Fung’s movements accelerated.
The twenty-sword attack. It was the essence of swordsmanship called ‘Twenty Songs of Sword,’ and Lai Fung used all twenty movements of it. It was the swordsmanship move that had made Lai Fung became the top swordsman in the world!
‘This is working!’
Lai Fung thought this guy was way too slow. Even a turtle would move faster than him.
‘This is working. I can beat him.’ This guy had nothing more than his strong vibe of energy.
At the end of the twenty-sword attack, Lai Fung finally pierced they guy’s neck.
Yes, this was a victory!
The table had turned back again.
Lai Fung wanted to turn his head around and shout out, but he couldn’t make a sound.
‘Why is my voice…?’
That was the last thought that Lai Fung had in this world.
“He must be hallucinating.”
Looking at Lai Fung’s head rolling on the ground, I laughed.
Acceleration was that kind of skill, anyway.
It was a suicidal skill in which overuse could destroy the user’s brain and muscles.
Lai Fung’s brain was damaged, so he couldn’t even understand his own death.
Anyways, he wouldn’t have lasted more than a few years, and his end wouldn’t be pretty. The end of him would have been very, very painful. Maybe it was a blessing for him that Lai Fung was killed by me now before experiencing that agony.
‘I thought there was one more hero with a Rare skill! Is he already dead?’
I turned around and looked at the group of awakened heroes who were around 500 strong now. Usually, one Orc could fight two awakened heroes. If I thought of the statistics, it would have been natural to have only 300 of them left…but since the heroes knew what the monsters were trying to do, statistics didn’t matter much.
It was a pity that out of all the heroes who survived, I was not able to find the hero with a Rare skill. It was too bad, but it was clear that he had died already during the fight.
The remaining ones’ destiny was already written.
Annihilation!
They were just pests who had invaded my defenses and come into my farm.
I had no reason to save their lives.
The news that there were hidden treasures in my dungeon would spread through the Guild of Heaven’s Will and other guilds from all the other countries. These ones were just useless pests in my farm.
The news would bring even more heroes to my dungeon, and I could feed myself by killing them. If I didn’t need to, I could just keep them for a while…
One day, other devils would do the same, but not yet. I still had a lot of chances to take them all by myself.
Just when I was about to kick my Inferno to sweep them up, a voice rang out.
“Dungeon master!” A guy came to me and kneeled to beg me.
‘…?’
I was able to speak multiple languages, including English, so I was able to understand what he was trying to say.
“Please forgive us. We are only poor people who were blinded by the treasure. Forgive us.”
“Daniel, are you crazy?!”
“F**k!”
“Che st***zo!”
Everyone blamed him for his action.
They spoke in different languages, but they were all trying to say that he was just crazy.
“Please!” The guy didn’t care at all. It was not just fear; he realized that he was facing someone on a high level and was shivering. He was able to see what everyone else wasn’t able to.
That triggered my curiosity, and I opened my Mind’s Eye to have a look at his status.
Name: Daniel Drew Martin
Occupation: Warrior(Guarder)
Title: N/A
Abilities:
Power 33, Intelligence 41, Speed 31, Strength 35, Mana 15
Potential(155/308)
Others: N/A
Skill: Insight(Ex N), Extrasensory(Ex N)
Insight and Extrasensory!
Although the level of the skill was low, it was not difficult to understand those two skills were creating quite a good synergy effect.
That was how he knew that even if everyone here tried to fight against me together, they had no chance at all.
Even if he knew, I was sure that he would consider me nothing more than a strong monster. Yet he thought of kneeling and begging to save them.
Well, that didn’t change my mind. It was just a bit impressive. Nothing more.
“If you save our lives, we would never bother you again, Dungeon Master. We would never even look toward the dungeon.”
“That’s not a very good idea.” I wanted more people to come to find the treasure. If everyone walked out alive and talked about my existence, not many heroes would come to my dungeon for the treasure.
“Huh…?” Daniel looked up as if he was shocked.
It was probably because he didn’t expect me to talk to him in English.
It was a gamble for Daniel; he thought it would be impossible to communicate.
He’d won the jackpot. He was able to communicate.
That was not true at all, but I was a bit interested as well.
I offered to play a game. “I will give you 10 mins.”
“To run away?” Daniel looked like he’d just found hope again.
If all 500 of them ran away, there would be a few that would survive.
With his skill, he thought he could save his team members.
But I shook my head and answered, “I will attack you for 10 minutes. You all try to stop me. I will stop exactly after 10 minutes.”
I pointed at Daniel with my sword. “First… yes, let’s start with you.”
Slash!
Roll…
Before Daniel found anything to say, I hit him with my sword.
His head dropped on the ground and the game started.
“D…Daniel!”
10 minutes.
There were 500 heroes left.
My calculation told me that I had to kill one hero per second.
I tapped Inferno’s back.
“You mother f**ker! I will kill you! I will kill you!”
Neigh!
Inferno started to move.
The guy with the red followed me with his halberd, but I just ignored him.
He was the angriest one here.
I decided to kill him last, just as I’d killed Daniel first.
It was some kind of mercy.
Every time my sword was moving, a handful of people died on its way.
“Stop him! Stop him!”
They made a formation for defense and tried to stop me, but it was a joke for me to go through their defense formation.
I was a wrecking ball. I was a tsunami that was destroying everything on the way.
Shhhh!
Ping!
Arrows and magic were flying toward me.
I completely ignored them.
Even if they hit me, those awakened heroes were too weak to damage me in any way.
“Kughhh!”
“Help me!”
It was a simple manner of running, slashing and stabbing for a while.
The desperate heroes were on the ground or cut in two pieces and barely moving.
Even if they were fast, they couldn’t run away from Inferno.
Inferno was the same level of monster as a Unicorn.
Some tried to escape through the swamp, but they had to face Goblins and Kobolds that came out of it.
After exactly 10 minutes, there was only one hero left.
Among countless dead bodies, there was only one survivor.
“You are lucky.”
I was a man of my word.
Although, I didn’t promise him that he could escape my dungeon.
Even if he did, there was nothing he could do.
Maybe Daniel could have because Daniel was a careful one, but this guy’s only skill was Rage.
If he brought in more awakened heroes with Rage, that would be rather beneficial for me.
The sword I was holding started to fade away, then disappeared.
I held the reins and turned Inferno around.
The remaining monsters started to follow me.
The guy was left alone with the dead bodies…
The guy started to cry his eyeballs out.
“Fk, fk-!”
The guy with the red hairstyle.
The sole survivor was not Daniel, but him.
