Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 232
Chapter 232: Episode 73. Camael (1)
Camael was a big angel with 10 wings. He led 1.14 million angels and was annihilating all that breathes around him.
His power, although strong enough, was not absolute. He was immortal as long as the 1.14 million forces were alive. They were the source of Camael’s strength.
However, at the moment, Camael had an obsessive desire for destruction. Originally, a seraph didn’t have a strong ego. It was because a seraph was a faithful puppet, following orders of his god. However, Camael was summoned by a demon, so he was unable to hear his god’s voice.
Camael blamed other strange creatures around him. Among ordinary humans, there were some with very weird aura. He believed they were contaminated or cursed, so he decided to get rid of everyone. He thought that once he killed all weird creatures, he would be able to hear his god’s voice again.
He was determined. About one-third of Earth had already been destroyed, turned into a land of despair. If this kept on going, Earth would be doomed soon. Everyone thought so until my forces and I showed up.

Humans were frustrated. No one could stop the angels ever since their attack had begun. Originally, angels did not actively hunt humans. They just ignored them. They did not care at all about humans. Only demons and monsters had recognized humans as prey and had been killing them indiscriminately.
But suddenly, the angels were hostile towards humans. They were like a plague. There was death everywhere they went. The army of angels started from the west. Now, they were heading east where humans had reportedly fled.
Korea was one of the countries where humans had evacuated to. Among the remaining countries, Korea had recovered fairly quickly. The strongest awakened heroes were there, and the average level of heroes was also high. Korean people steadily obtained resources from the dungeon. Thus, Korea was no doubt the perfect choice for a lot of refugees.
There were top-ranking heroes from other countries among the refugees. Their countries were ruined, so they moved to Korea. They faced many issues at first, but the Korean people realized that they could benefit from them as well. The barricade was reinforced, and many awakened heroes protected the country like an impregnable fortress.
All the awakened heroes in Korea united to prepare for a war against the angels. Everyone had one common goal until the world suddenly turned dark and a series of events transpired. These events led to the appearance of countless monsters, which led to differing opinions among humans.
“We have to attack. The dungeon’s owner is out now. This is the perfect opportunity.”
“No. Why are you inviting trouble? As long as the owner of the dungeon doesn’t attack, we should not strike.”
They were divided and argued fiercely. However, they couldn’t come to a conclusion.
The monsters came out from the dungeon every day. Also, foreign creatures had arrived in Korea. Humans were relieved that these monsters did not attack them.
People were curious. The dungeon in Korea used to be so quiet. Not many monster waves had happened. The dungeon owner had not inflicted much damage to humans directly, except the time when the dungeon had been created.
But now, the Korean dungeon was clamorous. Day after day, monsters in the dungeon came and went. Communication around the world was cut off, so people had no idea what the monsters were doing.
However, a Chinese reporter went to Korea and revealed what the monsters were up to.
“I saw the monsters fighting against the angels. They fought boldly. The angels had already arrived at Lanzhou, China. The monsters were keeping the angels from moving further. They fought as if they were the last line of defense.”
Lanzhou, China was not too far from Korea. The angels were already near. They would arrive anytime soon—sooner than people expected. But the more surprising thing was the attitude of the monsters.
People believed that the monsters were trying to stop the angels from attacking the dungeon. No matter what the reasons of the monsters were for assaulting the angels, humans benefitted from these attacks.
Still, there was not much hope. The angels were numerous and powerful. There used to be many demons who fought against the angels, but now, only a few demons were left. Most of them died fighting against the angels. The demons weren’t strong enough to overcome the celestial army.
People wondered if the monsters from Korea’s dungeon could stop the angels.
“We can stop the angels. We have to help him, even if we don’t want to…”
“Excuse me. Korea is the safest place at the moment. Are you saying we leave the country and help monsters? Are you crazy?”
But the reporter remained steadfast.
“No. That’s not what I’m getting at. I am talking about the owner of the dungeon in Korea. People thought the dark elf was the owner of the dungeon, but they were mistaken. The real dungeon owner is the king of the demons, the Dark Lord,” the reporter revealed. “I saw him killing tens of thousands of angels alone! He was stronger than any other demons we have ever seen. We should join him. We should follow his lead and attack the angels together.”
The reporter still vividly remembered what he had witnessed and was still in awe.
“What? The demons have a king? If that’s the case, isn’t he the true enemy then?”
Most of the awakened heroes opposed this. They raised their voices and criticized the reporter. However, many people agreed with him as well.
“The angels are trying to kill everything that exists. In fairness to the demon king, he’s not hostile towards the humans. Based on what the reporter has just said about this demon king, he is capable of killing Korean people, but he hasn’t. We could either choose to join the demon king’s forces or die at the hands of celestial beings.”
In fact, everyone had doubts. The owner of the dungeon in Korea was different from other demons. He never attempted to exploit or annihilate humans, though he threatened them once in a while.
Meanwhile, it was impossible to communicate with the angels. They do not discriminate between humans and demons. They had been heedlessly killing humans.
In the end, it was up to Edward Windsor and Yoo Eunhye to decide.
Edward was the sage king, but Yoo Eunhye was the one who actually led Korea. Edward was too young, but Yoo Eunhye was the more experienced one. Therefore, Yoo Eunhye made the decisions.
“We are…,” Yoo Eunhye began to speak in front of many heroes, “going to set a detached force and attack the angels. If they manage to enter Korea, it will cause a lot of damage. We must stop them to avoid or lessen any catastrophes.”
“Are you saying that we are to help the demon?”
“No. To tell you honestly, I want to live,” Yoo Eunhye admitted. “We have been surviving, gathering forces, and relying on our strength. But it wasn’t enough. We need more time. If we die, that will be the end of it—we take humanity’s hope with us. I don’t want that to happen. We are the last hope of humanity.”
Yoo Eunhye’s words, “I want to live,” were moving. There were many powerless humans, and they placed their hopes on the awakened heroes. If the heroes fought in Korea, many people would suffer and die. Therefore, it would be wise to get rid of enemies beforehand.
Many people agreed with Yoo Eunhye. She went on, “I will send messages to the countries that the angels haven’t struck yet. This fight will be the biggest that we have ever had. This will decide the fate of humanity…of everything.”
Yoo Eunhye’s expression was firm. She was determined. Hope might lead to their victory or doom.

I spent a lot of my points and achievement points. I summoned the most efficient monsters and hunted down the angels. Even though no angel could beat me, there were too many of them. I could not hunt all 1.14 million angels alone.
[Number of Remaining Angels: 371,332]
It turned out that killing angels was a quest. The system showed the remaining number of angels.
I had been killing a million angels these past 15 days, but I also lost a lot of monsters. My points slowly depleted, and the monsters that were naturally born from breeding species could not catch up to alleviate the damages.
“Camael started to move.”
Most of all, Camael was big trouble. I was particularly aiming at him while I hunted angels. I wanted to see for myself if his supposed strength could keep up against my attacks. I honestly believed it could. A protective layer appeared and kept him safe from me.
It was absurd. I could not believe there was actually a skill that could invalidate everything. Thus, I had no choice but to hunt down all the other angels first.
I found that the situation was not working in my favor. I had limited time. I could only do so much. If the angels got rid of all dungeons and humans, it would be really hard to fight against Camael. Therefore, I had to kill him as soon as possible.
If I had a little more time, it would be easier. But even if I included Ariel and her demons, I would still be lacking by an inch.
‘I wish I have more troops,’ I thought.
Besides, the angels weren’t stupid. They realized they couldn’t stop me, so they started avoiding me. Since they did not have a base, they could freely fly around. As a result, the places where I could not easily send help received the heavy blows.
Camael was too strong. No demons nor monsters could stop him. Ariel Diablo? Well, she was not good enough as I judged.
“I guess I have to do it myself.”
Tut! I clicked my tongue.
I hoped other monsters would sweep all the angels while I bid my time, fighting against Camael. If all the angels died, he would be defenseless, and then, I could finally kill him.
My mana might seem to be abundant, but it actually had a limit. That was why I found this fight time-consuming.
“Oh, well. It can’t be helped.”
I held Rage and the Sword of the Emperor. It seemed inevitable now.
<hr />
Camael was huge. He was about five meters tall. He was smaller than the seraph I saw in my previous life, but that seraph was actually not a living thing. It was something like a giant planet. At least Camael was a living thing.
He was holding his long spear and looking around nonchalantly. It was a mess, and there was fire everywhere I look. As I showed up, Camael looked at me. I felt the pangs of humiliation coming back to me. I once had to run away from him. But not this time. It would be tough to kill all the angels if Camael killed all the monsters first.
[Number of Remaining Angels: 271,994]
As I looked aside, a message popped up, and it continued to change. At this rate, results would come out in about a week. And I was planning to get a hold of Camael during that period.
“Let’s have some fun, Camael.”
“…”
Camael didn’t say anything. Instead, he just raised his spear in response.
Swish!
He threw his spear at me, and it appeared in front of my eyes. The spear jumped through space and quickly aimed at my forehead.
Clang!
However, I was expecting that move from him. I was not stupid to be taken by surprise with a fairly predictable strike. I covered my two swords with Dark Sword, Lightning God, and the Flame of Pride.
Boom!
I also leaped and stabbed his face before he could react. However, a thin layer was still protecting him.
“Tut!”
I was above him in all areas, but I could not penetrate this barrier. I really did not like it.
