Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 122
Chapter 122: Episode 35. Lyhee’s Bizarre Adventure (1)
I was born on the battlefield. I spent decades on the battlefield.
I even survived on battlefields that had less than 1% survival rate. Even when all my allies died, I managed to survive alone.
Therefore… I was familiar with torture.
“Please…”
Azumun was crushed to the point that it was difficult to recognize him. He had been stripped of his skin and his guts were hanging out. There wasn’t a single hair left on his body, and his ears and nose had been cut off. His eyes? They had completely disappeared. He was sitting on a chair, and the Lighting God was circling him, burning his body.
Nevertheless, he had not died yet and the reason was simple.
I was using the highest-grade potion made from the Leaf of the World Tree. There was nothing like this to sustain a life.
“Azumun. It looks like you don’t have any power to call your god anymore.”
“Just… kill me…”
It had already been 10 hours of torture. I had done everything I could do to him, and Azumun’s mind, which was already not stable, collapsed. It looked like he had no energy to call on Oculus anymore.
“This should be enough.”
The pain I could inflict had reached its limit.
Slash!
I swung Rage and cut his head off. He died on the spot. He didn’t even twitch and died instantly. However, I had no intention of letting Azumun go peacefully.
I shook my hands and turned my head. I said to the Lich that had been assisting me, “Hey, Lich. Stuff his head and make a mana sphere out of it. It will be a good source of mana.”
“Y-yes, sir.”
I decided to make his head an orb of a cane to give him eternal suffering. Also, I was curious about what Oculus’ expression would be when he found out about it.
Rumble—.
At that time, a crack began to open.
The items that I had purchased from the auction started showing up one by one.
“I guess it comes to the dungeon that I am currently at.”
I thought they were supposed to go to my Korean dungeon. But I was in the Chinese dungeon now. Since this dungeon was mine as well, it looked like they came here instead.
“We are the Kur Warriors! Where is the master we serve?”
A loud voice rang out in the dungeon.
The Kur Warriors, which were a bipedal species with the legs of a horse, torso of a bull and head of a human appeared first.
Among them, the leader turned his head and found Azumun behind me. He laughed loudly.
“Torture! The Kur warriors like to torture as well!”
“You are loud.”
I was a bit sensitive after the torture. As I frowned at this, the head of the Kur Warriors bowed his head.
“Master! Sorry! But this is our normal voice!”
I didn’t know that because they had been quiet at the auction.
I had purchased them because they were in good quality and quantity. I did not expect such a flaw.
There were a hundred of them. And each one of them was the equivalent of an intermediate monster of 5Lv. Some warriors were close to the high level, so I had not hesitated at the time of bidding.
“Oh well, as long as they fight well, it should be alright.”
I followed Meritocracy. If they were good at fighting and followed my orders well, I could overlook such flaws.
Neigh—!
When I was about to finish contemplating about the Kur Warriors, a hundred of Inferno showed up through the crack.
They were horses made out of fire. And they were not herbivorous. They were monsters that could even eat Goblins, Orcs, and Trolls.
And I had bought a hundred of such Infernos. I did not buy that many only to increase their numbers; I had another reason.
“I heard that the Kur Warriors can ride horses well, and your combat capabilities increase depends on the level of the horses. Is that right?”
“That is right! With Infernos we can even hunt Two-headed Ogres!”
I nodded. I had heard about the Kur Warriors that lived in the middle of nowhere. Everybody said that they were “a clan that gets stronger by riding a better horse.”
There was a legend that a Kur Warrior who was riding a Pegasus, the god’s horse, managed to hunt a hydra alone. In other words, the Kur Warriors were equestrian monsters.
“Brilliant.”
There was no doubt that they would play a large role when hitting Oculus’s dungeon.
Other items began to appear through the crack, and then the Lich named Gaparam walked out with his head held high.
“Hmm. I can feel a strong aura of death. It doesn’t feel very pleasant. So, this is a dungeon. Huh.”
“Don’t you have to be familiar with death? You are a Lich, after all, eating up the dead.”
When I said, smiling, Gaparam strongly shook his head.
“Do not compare me with other shallow Liches. I only became a Lich to do my research, my foundation is alchemy. I deal with life, not death.”
“W-what? A shallow Lich?”
Unfortunately, there was another Lich close to us. The Lich couldn’t accept such derogatory words. However, Gaparam did not stop.
“Oh. I will take back my word. Here is a stinky Lich.”
“D-do you want to die?”
“Fighting is for savages.”
“M-Master, please allow me.”
The Lich looked at me. He could not just go for Gaparam in front of me, so he asked for my permission first.
“I don’t allow it.”
The Lich gave a low bow and Gaparam gloated.
I said to him, “Gaparam. Do not cause any trouble in my dungeon. Do you understand?”
“I won’t. I will put up with it for my research.”
It was a vague tone of voice that felt slightly disrespectful. But I wasn’t bothered it.
“I am greatly looking forward to the results of your research.”
“Thank you. Honestly, I felt strange when you bid 500,000 points for me. But I guess you recognize my research. Then, I felt comfortable and I became more motivated. I guarantee you; you won’t regret. I will make the strongest Homunculus and do my best to help you become the Dark Lord.”
“That is reassuring.”
“So, as I said in the auction house, I would like to build a workshop…”
Gaparam could not finish his sentence. He had said he would need 2 million points. That was not a burden for me.
“I will give you a place soon.”
“Oh! You are surely the great master who recognizes my value!”
Gaparam whistled as if he felt happy. He didn’t look like a Lich at all. He had the skin of a human, and it seemed like he even had internal organs, too. He certainly had a good skill.
The crack shimmered again.
The Naga Queen, Dwarking, and five Krakens appeared through the crack.
Hiss—, hiss—.
The Naga Queen approached and wrapped her tail tightly around my body. It could be considered rude, but I knew she was doing this to remember my body odor, so I let her do it.
After about 20 seconds, the Naga Queen unwound her tail. Then, she shook her tail and lowered her body. It was a posture to show me she would obey me.
The Dwarking only bowed his head a little with a sour look. The difference between him and the other dwarves was that his beard was blue. Other than that, there was no apparent difference in appearance.
The five Krakens didn’t move at all. They looked like they were dead, but I assumed it was because there was no water. But it was alright.
My first thought when I saw the Krakens was that they were big.
The smallest Kraken was about at least 60 meters tall. And there were five of them. The top floor of the dungeon was spacious and high, but they made it look like there was no room here.
“They are invincible in the sea.”
There were very few creatures that could win against the Kraken in the sea. Even a dragon couldn’t easily touch a Kraken in the ocean.
If I made a sea topography and released them in it, I would not have to worry about that floor.
Rumble!
The crack began to tremble harder.
“Now…”
The last one. My lips parted as I thought about the creature that would finally appear through that crack.
“Mago!”
The highest-level monster greater than the Griffin and Gigantes. Mago moved her one eye and stared at me.
As the auction items were sent to the Chinese dungeon, I decided to use it as an advanced base. After completing all the preparations here, I intend to attack Oculus.
So, I called Krithli and all the other important monsters. There was not enough time to distribute items from the auction and to prepare everything.
“M-Master. Lyhee doesn’t deserve this. It’s the Fairy Knight’s Sword! Lyhee is not worthy of it.”
And Lyhee was here as well. Wheezy glared at Lyhee as if she didn’t like the situation. But, Lyhee was too busy looking at the Fairy Knight’s Sword.
“You are good enough,” I said.
Lyhee had been upgraded since she became the Fairy of Origin. I was sure that she was qualified.
“But… it is a sword that the Fairy King gives to only one fairy. To the best of my knowledge, the Fairy King had not existed for 20,000 years. Lyhee-hee-hee, I am happy though.”
“Lyhee.”
“Yes, Master.”
“Take it.”
“Okay…”
Lyhee hesitated for a moment before closing her eyes tight and held the sword.
The sword was about 30 cm long, and it looked more like a “skewer” than a sword. But, given the small size of the fairy, it was quite long in comparison.
It was the moment when Lyhee grasped the Fairy Knight’s Sword.
“Uh? Uh?”
Light poured out from the sword and formed a small door. Then, the door sucked Lyhee in.
[“The Fairy Knight’s Sword” will test the fairy, “Lyhee.”]
[The fairy “Lyhee” will be moved to the examination room.]
“This was unexpected.”
The sudden teleportation happened. I thought she was qualified enough, but it looked like there was a test for it.
I tried to use the fairy blessing to speak to her, but there was no answer from Lyhee.
“M-my Dungeon Master. The dungeon’s fairy has disappeared,” Krithli said, opening her eyes wide.
“…She should be alright.”
Lyhee had disappeared already, and for some reason, I could not contact her.
There was nothing I could do. I just hoped she would come back safely. Some might think it was cruel, but there were too many things to take care of at the moment than worrying about her.
“I can’t waste even a moment.”
I didn’t know Oculus’s true intentions. He had sent his alter ego to me, but I had no idea what he had been doing during that time.
Moreover, he had seen my status window. It was obvious that he had seen my title as “Dungeon Hunter.” Also, he might notice that this would not be my only dungeon based on my remaining points. To end my anxiety, I had to move faster than Oculus.
“Krathra. Take this.”
“Thank you, Master.”
Krathra looked at the Dragon Armor, her face full of curiosity. To Tashumal, I gave the Sturdy Faith. To Krithli, I handed the Twins’ Psychic Communion. This was for the Dark Elves twins, Roy and Rose.
“Lyhee. This is an opportunity to show your abilities.”
The creativity that no one could imagine! Lyhee had such ability, so she would pass the test easily.
Although I was still nervous, there was nothing I could do now.
Lyhee looked around in an unsettled manner, holding the Fairy Knight’s Sword.
A pink world.
In the valley, sweet honey flowed, and all kinds of sweets were all over the place. The big rainbow was in the sky, and somehow the sun was in the shape of a giant cookie. It was awkward to see the sunbeam coming out of the cookie.
A pink unicorn ran around and there were pink mushrooms and pink sunflowers. It was very unusual. There were pink dogs, pink cats, and even the sweets on the ground were all pink.
This place was the Garden of Pink that she had never heard of or seen before. Even Lyhee was panicking.
“W-w-w-w-w-w-what is this place?”
