Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 106
Chapter 106: Episode 30. Dungeon Destruction (1)
Everyone became quiet. I was one of them. Quietly but intensively, I watched Lee Sarang and Lyhee.
In the previous life, Lee Sarang was known as the Queen of Charity.
Krithli brought her to me. I did not expect such a visit nor did I imagine that she could solve the problem related to the Tree of Origin.
I did not believe in abstract explanations, such as destiny. I simply thought that Krithli did a good job.
However, if Lee Sarang, despite her high potential of 425, could not solve this issue and the problem got more serious, she would be held responsible. I would not kill her, but I would make her suffer so much; she would lose her mind completely and become a doll.
Therefore… she must figure it out.
“My Dungeon Master, it will take a long time. We will guard this place while you take some rest.”
A day had passed. Krithli offered me some rest, but I shook my head and refused.
“No, I find this entire process very interesting. I cannot miss a scene.”
This process was also very important, and I could not miss it.
I wanted to be there for all possibilities that may occur. Should a situation emerge whereby my authorities as the Dungeon Master were needed, I had to be on-site to quickly resolve any issues.
In fact, I was directing the remaining energy of the Dungeon Core to this process.
Two days passed. Then, three.
Lee Sarang’s body started to break down. After all, she was merely a ten-year-old girl. She had not drunk nor eaten for the past three days. Autism was helpful for such abstinence, so she was still resonating between Lyhee and the Tree of Origin.
I could not disturb her concentration by feeding her food.
Another day passed.
Grrrr-!
The Tree of Origin shook slightly.
It stretched out its branches and embraced Lyhee and Lee Sarang.
This was the first movement that had occurred in the past four days.
Everyone concentrated on the process. The Dark Elves had not slept at all and were watching the scene. I was also the same.
Soon the Tree of Origin caressed Lee Sarang and fully embraced Lyhee.
[The Tree of Origin accepts the Fairy of the Dungeon Core as its ‘soul companion.’]
[The Tree of Origin has become perfect.]
[The Fairy of the Dungeon Core has been promoted as the ‘Spirit of Origin!’]
[For the first time, you have successfully enhanced the grade of a fairy.]
[‘The Spirit of Origin’ and the Tree of Origin stay together. Should the Tree of Origin disappears, so does the grade of the fairy, who will return to its original state.]
[Unable to calculate. Currently, similar achievements are used as a reference to calculate the reward.]
[You have earned 5.4 million points.]
[You receive an achievement point of 5,000.]
“This is fantastic.”
I had never received such a large amount of points as a reward. I was quite surprised, and Lyhee was slowly transforming.
Her wings were getting longer, and so were her legs and arms. Lyhee’s hair grew, too. She still looked chubby but seemed a bit older.
Lyhee, who was lying near the central part of the Tree of Origin, slowly opened her eyes.
“…?”
The fairy looked puzzled.
Lyhee looked around, still unable to figure out what was going on or where she was.
When her eyes met mine, Lyhee gave me a smile, one that looked somewhat dumb but a familiar one that she usually gave me.
“Lyhee-”
The abnormal breeding stopped. As I suspected, the Tree of Origin was the cause of the problem.
Lyhee, whose grade was enhanced, became more ambidextrous. She became more physically powerful and could fully utilize the Tree of Origin. For instance, she could strengthen the branches and use them as parts for armors and weapons.
“Wow! What on Earth are these amazing materials?”
Dwarves became very excited.
They enjoyed making armors and weapons using mysterious materials.
The armors and weapons, which were made from the materials that Lyhee transformed, were at least of rare grade. Some of them were of unique grades.
“You have so many leaves…. they will be helpful in feeding angels.”
There was more. Originally, the Tree of Origin only had a small number of leaves on its body. However, Lyhee tuned the tree to grow more leaves, and soon, the number of leaves multiplied. Lyhee gave the leaves to Tashumal or used them for potions.
The Leaves of Origin were excellent cures.
Furthermore, when they were ground and applied to a user over a long period of time, the user’s statistics increased.
I could not use the leaves more than once. However, they increased my intelligence by two.
“Master! This is a present from Lyhee. Hehehe.”
“This is a strange-looking marble.”
When I was checking the dungeon, Lyhee suddenly appeared before me. She gave me a marble, which was as large as a fingernail and was emitting a strange light. The mana coming out from the marble felt unusual.
“It is not weird. Lyhee knows what it is. It is the Quintessence of Origin. You can get one per year. I heard it is very good for you if you consume it.”
Had I heard about it before?
Anyway, if the Tree of Origin could make only one such marble every year, I was sure that it was indeed something very remarkable.
I opened the Mind’s Eyes.
Name – Quintessence of Origin.
Comments: It is the quintessence that the Tree of Origin made after accumulating mana for a year. Only the gods could get them. However, they were so rare that even the gods only ate them on special occasions.
*When consumed, the user increases his or her limit of potential by one.
“Breakthrough…!”
I calmly stared at the quintessence.
If something could increase the limit of potential, it could only mean a breakthrough.
The potential of demons was set to five hundred. Such a limit allowed demons to have all of their statistics up to exactly one hundred. And the difference of one point felt very large when the statistics were near one hundred.
“In the previous life, all of the archdukes could have a breakthrough. However, how they did it was not known.’
Of course, they did not use the quintessence to achieve breakthroughs.
They must have had other methods.
“Quintessence of Origin is one of many ways to achieve a breakthrough.”
I nodded.
Anyway, it was a very important piece of information, even though I did not need it at that very moment… How about Adonis?
Adonis’ statistics were maxed out. Every single point counted for him.
I could bargain a nice deal with him for this marble.
“I just earned a very important key.”
I could not help but smile.
“You have done a good job.”
“Hehehe, then please pat Lyhee’s head.”
Lyhee put her head in front of me.
I hesitated for a moment and then pat her head.
After she transformed into the Spirit of Origin, Lyhee became a big baby. Before her transformation, she would be at least shy about her requests, but now she did not seem to care at all.
“Hehehehe. I like it! Lyhee will go and walk the honeybees.”
Lyhee’s cheeks turned red, and she flew away.
Standing alone, I looked down at my hands.
“Hmm…”
I thought about the Spirit of Origin.
She was a different class of fairy now, but Lyhee was still Lyhee.

The Flesh was hungry. Grass and dirt were not enough. It started eating insects and rats and realized that they tasted better than grass and dirt. After such a moment of epiphany, it started looking for living things.
As time passed, the Flesh grew larger and larger. It also learned that “humans” tasted best. When it consumed an entire village, more humans came to it. The Flesh ate them all, and they tasted good.
When the Flesh ate all the humans around it, it could not find anything else to eat. It returned to where it originally came from, which was a large castle. It was difficult for it to get into the dungeon. Because of its large size, the Flesh was stuck at the entrance of the dungeon.
The Flesh needed to widen the entrance.
It then leaned on the wall. Somehow the wall tasted sweet.
The reason was for this was the barrier of the dungeon. The barrier, which surrounded the dungeon from outside, tasted somewhat sweet.
The Flesh then started to consume the barrier of the dungeon.
“Get that freaking flesh off of the wall!”
Fagan Grewoolly paced up nervously.
A warning message popped up, informing Grewoolly about the strange piece of flesh, which had latched on to the external wall and was consuming the barrier. The durability of the dungeon was dropping every second.
Grewoolly started an attack, but the Flesh was too hard. And it recovered quickly and grew even larger. Such was the power of a monster, which had a health point of 130.
Had Grewoolly had teleportation scrolls, he could have easily moved the monster away. Unfortunately, he did not have enough points to purchase one.
Helpless, Fagan Grewoolly frowned.
[Durability of barrier 410,233/1,000,000]
“Piece of shit! Kill it! Go and kill it!!”
Grewoolly sent all his monsters. However, the flesh did not fall.
Instead, it absorbed all the monsters that were trying to attack it.
“Hahaha! You son of a bitch! It is finally dead!”
After many days of battle, Grewoolly was able to finally kill the Infinite Flesh. He laughed out loud.
Despite the large damage and the broken barrier, Grewoolly was glad that he had killed the monster.
Unfortunately, Fagan Grewoolly was missing an important point.
He did not know that at the very moment that he killed the Flesh, a message window popped up to all the awakened heroes in the world!
**
The awakened heroes were puzzled.
[The barrier of a dungeon located in Saudi Arabia is breached. It will take thirty days to fully reconstruct the barrier.]
“What is this?”
“Barrier?”
“I think there is only one dungeon in Saudi Arabia?”
All the awakened heroes could read the message between the lines, and they started discussing future plans. Many shared their thoughts about the incident in all kinds of communities for awakened heroes. After a while, they managed to narrow down the reasons to a few convincing explanations.

Perhaps a large number of monsters escaped from the dungeon.
No physical attack can damage dungeons. However, the barrier is breached. Perhaps physical attacks might work now?

There were fierce arguments in the communities. While the awakened heroes were discussing their opinions, news popped up informing that the government of Saudi Arabia had deployed its military to the dungeon, focusing its firepower on it.

The dungeon is going down!
I cannot believe it! Is this real? Are you sure this is not CG?
Oh, my god. Monsters are running out! They look very scared!
Baby! Are you going to just watch? Now is the time for heroes like us!

When the dungeon broke down little by little, the awakened heroes became more hopeful. The dungeon had caused so much pain to them, but the time for revenge had come.
A large number of awakened heroes started making a move.
Some wanted to hunt valuables in the dungeons, but most of the heroes wanted to destroy the dungeon.
I heard about the news a bit later than the others.
I was so busy cleaning up the mess in the dungeon and thinking about ways to use the Tree of Origin; twenty-four hours were too short.
I was also discussing the whereabouts of Lee Sarang. I had other issues to take care of.
If Krathra did not wander outside the dungeon, I would have heard the news much later.
“The barrier is breached? And the dungeon is Fagan Grewoolly’s?”
“Yes, you are correct.”
When Krathra bowed, I swept my chins.
“That is funny. Did the Infinite Flesh eat up the barrier?”
I could not think of any other possible explanation.
Otherwise, the barrier would not have been breached in such a time.
Only angels could carve the barriers in the first place. I could not imagine the Infinite Flesh doing such a thing.
“The guilds in Korea have started to move. In particular, the Devil Hunter attack unit and some other attack units successfully entered the dungeon.”
“If the barrier disappears, the dungeon will become vulnerable. However… that is reckless.”
The look of a dungeon from the outside seemed completely unrelated to its internal affairs. However, the two were correlated.
For instance, if a dungeon had thirty floors, it could get reduced down to three floors when the barrier was breached.
Such a difference was very dramatic. Furthermore, the monsters would behave differently in the absence of a barrier.
It would take at least three months to create a new barrier and reconstruct the dungeon.
However, the awakened heroes were not that powerful.
If the conquest took place four or five years later, the awakened heroes would have easily taken over the dungeon. Unfortunately, it was very likely that they would be decimated now.
Even though he was the weakest among the dukes, Fagan Grewoolly was, after all, a duke.
After considering all scenarios, I spoke.
“We need to move. Get ready.”
“Yes, Master.”
Krathra knelt down quickly.
