Dungeon Hunter - Chapter 101
Chapter 101: Episode 28. Devorong’s Request (2)
The paper did not contain any more information other than the few words from Deboron. However, it sounded quite exciting; the message was related to the Fairy King of Darkness. He was on par with the archdukes and was a director of the Auction of Devildom. No one could really see him during the previous life. But now, the Fairy King wanted to meet me.
“It is going to be an important meeting.”
The intention behind giving me a large number of points and the seed of the Tree of Origin was obvious. The Fairy King wanted me to keep the archdukes in check or get as strong as them.
Did he want to offer another favor? Had there been something unusual? I tried to read between the lines, but I could not guess the Fairy King’s intention behind this meeting.
However, I could not let my guards down. I must stay well-prepared. The Fairy King of Darkness was not easy. In fact, he was very ambitious; the king wanted to unite the World of Spirit. No spirit had ever united the world, but the Fairy King had a big dream.
If I let him be, he would take over.
I had to be cautious and keep him at a distance.
On the other side of the paper was the time of the meeting and the directions to the Spirit World.
[I will open a portal in the inter-dimensional crack on the tenth day from today.]
I was quite surprised by this notice.
I thought that the meeting would take place during the Auction of Devildom.
It would be burdensome for the spirits to create a portal in the inter-dimensional crack and bring me to the World of Spirit. Such an act was illegal, but the Fairy King had decided to play tricks. He would be penalized if he got caught. The preparation for creating the portal itself was hard, but many spirits also disappeared during the process.
“He must be in a hurry.”
My face hardened.
I tried to guess the reason for the Fairy King’s rush to meet me.
There had got to be a reason.
I put the piece of paper in my pocket.
Ten days was long enough to clean up the mess.
I turned around and looked at Wheezy, who was still wheezing.
“Wheezy, where is ‘it’?”
Wheezy stuck out her mouth and told me.
“It is downstairs.”
“Okay.”
I started moving downstairs.
The “it” was the monster that I earned after conquering the dungeon in China. It had some problems… but I wanted to give it another shot since I had to come back to the dungeon anyway.
Soon, I saw a gigantic blob of flesh blocking the entrance.
The monster was brownish. Moreover, it looked monstrous and disgusting!
It was getting larger while slowly moving like a snail and consuming everything that was around.
“Master, this is ugly even to Lyhee.”
Lyhee, who was sitting on my shoulders, frowned. Lyhee did not have the best eyes for aesthetics, but even she felt disgusted. On top of the monstrous appearance, the monster smelled terrible.
Slash!
At that very moment, a tentacle came out from a small opening, which was covered by large pieces of flesh. I took out Anger and cut the tentacle.
“It still does not recognize its master.”
“How dare it attack Master?! It is a bad monster. Should Lyhee teach it a lesson?”
I could not help but laugh at Lyhee, who had rolled up her sleeves and tried to take action.
“Do not worry about it. I heard that it can even eat spiritual beings.”
“Hmm! Huh! Lyhee will let it go this time because Lyhee is merciful.”
Lyhee shook her body and backed off.
“I had no idea why the gods made this.”
It was the gods’ monster. I could not fathom the intention behind the existence of this giant piece of flesh.
Moreover, they handed this monster to me.
I opened the Mind’s Eyes and checked its status.
Name: Infinite Flesh
Strength 90 Intelligence 0 Agility 43 Health point 130 Mana 35 Potential (298/320)
Comments: Anubis, while leading dead men, ended up drowning them in the River of Chaos. The souls and flesh of twenty thousand dead men combined and became this chaotic monster. It purely consists of flesh and absorbs everything around it. The monster resembles one of the Seven Sins, which is “Gluttony.”
Skill: Growth (Epic)
The monster’s statistics were highly unbalanced, but its health point was outstanding. Unfortunately, it was of no use.
Where could I use this piece of flesh, which did not recognize its master and was constantly eating?!
If I let it be, it would probably cause trouble in the dungeon.
“It is such a headache.”
I pressed my forehead in agony. Then Lyhee clapped and spoke.
“Master, master. Just throw this away. Lyhee thought about this monster for a moment. This monster is a bad one that can even absorb the mana of the dungeon! If you let it be, it might eat up the altar or the Dungeon Core! Lyhee is scared just thinking about it.”
“You are correct. If I do not take any action, your predictions will come true.”
I sighed quietly.
“Should I really get rid of it?”
If I thought about the possible consequences, removing the monster was the best option. Had it been intelligent, I could have tried to make use of its intelligence. Unfortunately, that option was impossible. I could not just let it sit in the dungeon; it would obviously cause troubles.
Who would have known that the gift from the gods would be this?
“Then how do we throw it away?”
Lyhee put her fingers on her lips and tilted her head.
The Infinite Flesh had a tendency to eat up everything that was either around or trying to approach it.
I thought about the problem for a moment and came up with an idea.
“I will use a teleportation scroll.”
Using a teleportation scroll, I could move the monster. The scroll would cost quite a fortune, but it was worth it. I wanted to get rid of this monster before it became trouble.
“Hehehe! That is a good idea! But where do we throw it away to?”
Fairies are very curious by nature. Lyhee was particularly more curious than the other fairies. Since I made the decision to throw away this piece of meat anyway, I made my mind on the location for disposal.
“I will put it somewhere near one of Ufa’s dungeons.”
Of course, throwing the monster near a dungeon didn’t guarantee that the monster would walk into the dungeon by itself. Obsessed with food, this crazy monster would even devour its master’s orders… It could at least cause some losses in Ufa’s points by blocking awakened heroes in front of the dungeon.
I dropped the monster near Duke Fagan Grewoolly’s dungeon and stopped caring. Moving the piece of flesh all the way to Saudi Arabia cost thousands of points, but the effort and points were worth it if the monster could cause trouble to the duke and his dungeon.
I had more than ten million points, and the expense was a drop in the ocean. I almost could not notice the difference between before and after spending the points.
After taking care of this trouble, I left for my dungeon in Korea.
I reached the top floor of the dungeon, which was the twenty-fifth floor. As soon as I entered the place, I felt somewhat different. The cause of the vibe was the holiness, which was an opposite influence to those of demons’. I tried to ignore the difference and looked for Tashumal.
“All of them hatched from their eggs.”
I was now at the center of the sacred area. There were many bunches of black feathers acting as nests for the baby angels. On top of those nests, baby angels with small wings were crawling.
Tashumal was taking care of the baby angels. She was multitasking and did not notice my appearance.
“You look busy.”
“Ah…! You have come. Yes, I am very busy now.”
Tashumal sounded cold, but she looked rather soft. I had never seen her so “tender.”
I snickered and continued.
“Despite your complaints, you seem to be doing well.”
“I don’t know if I am doing well. Archangels are supposed to take care of baby angels. I just hope that I am not making any mistakes… Ah, hey! Come down at once!”
One of the baby angels spread its wings and started to fly. Tashumal freaked out and caught the baby angel.
“Do you need anything?”
“Phew! Can you get some leaves from the Tree of Origin?”
Tashumal asked for help, while she calmed the baby angel, whom she had brought down forcefully. The baby angel was about to cry.
“What are you going to use the leaves for?”
“Wiping the wings of baby angles with the leaves from the Tree of Origin will make the wings grow larger. The other angels did it to me for only a couple of times, but the leaves worked well.”
If Tashumal, a dominion, got her wings wiped for only a couple of times, it meant that the leaves were very valuable. In fact, the Tree of Origin had many branches but did not have many leaves. However, I was very interested in the growth of the baby angels.
“I will have Krithli collect the leaves and give them to you.”
I nodded my head.
As time passed, Tashumal was starting to break down the “wall” in her mind. She was accepting her fate; she acted as though growing baby angels and wiping out demons were her last mission. Of course, the last demon would be me, but until the rest of the demons were eliminated, she would not go against me.
That was the reason that she had changed. Tashumal even thanked me.
“If you need anything else, you can always consult Krithli.”
“Okay… Ah! These brats! I told you that you should not try to fly yet! Your wings are fragile and might break!”
Tashumal was very busy.
I shrugged my shoulders and turned to leave.
Everything was going well with the baby angels.
I thought that Tashumal, a fallen angel, might have a negative influence on regular baby angels. However, nothing had happened so far.
It was quite a sight to have angels in a demon’s dungeon.
I was looking forward to how this combination would come about later.
After checking on what had to be checked and allocating some monsters in the dungeon in China, I was lost in thought for a moment. There was a task that needed to be done.
It was the Devil Hunter attack unit.
All of them must have thought that I was dead. If I let it be, the attack unit might fall apart.
So I left my dungeon. My dungeon in Korea was still under surveillance, so I had to take a detour. I needed to let the unit know that I was still alive.
“What is this…?”
I stopped for a moment when I entered the city. There were banners everywhere with phrases such as “commemorating Randalf,” “we will never forget his dedication,” and so on. My photos and personal information were top secret; fortunately, they were not exposed to the public. However, the banners were for me.
“It has already been a hundred days since the passing of our hero. How many of you have been saved by him? Let us remember him. Let us not forget his sacrifice and his glory!”
There was a funeral procession in Gangnam.
In the middle of the procession, I could find a few familiar faces.
They were Yoo Eunhye, Lee Jihye, Kim Yongwoo, and Edward Windsor.
Yoo Eunhye was wearing mourning clothes and sobbing. It seemed that she was in great sorrow. She looked skinnier than before; she must have not eaten much.
“…”
Things had gotten far more serious than I thought.
If I tried to settle the matter now, it would get worse.
I strongly felt that if I stepped in, I wouldn’t be able to step back.
“I will need to think about the solution after I pay my visit to the World of Spirit.”
I did not know that I was so influential. Of course, I was the best awakened hero and led the best attack unit, and people would have known about me. However, I did not know that such a large number of people would commemorate me.
I forgot the fact that humans were emotional enough to commemorate a person for such a long period of time. Such a sight was also hard to see on battlefields.
I decided not to step in.
I needed some time to ponder this issue.
Clicking my tongue silently, I returned to my dungeon. The meeting with Deboron was coming up.
<hr />
Pop-!
I was on the top floor of the dungeon.
A small crack opened up near the Core.
I was very unstable, and I knew that it would not last long.
However, I had made up my mind. There was no going back.
I took a step into the crack. It was pitch black inside.
However, there was some light.
The small dot of light, which was very far away, was the exit and the entrance.
I walked through the dark area slowly and reached the light. Then I found a large room.
I turned around and looked at the person in front of me.
“Welcome, Mr. Randalf Bruciel. I knew that you would come.”
Deboron, who was still dressed up as a clown, politely bowed.
