Deadly Doting Marriage Novel - Chapter 98
Chapter 98: The Unjust Case Was Resolved
Waverly looked at her father’s dark circles under his eyes and could only nod her head. “Then be careful, daddy!”
“Okay.” Matthew drove away from the Lambert’s residential villa.
After Corey pulled out the needle from John, he said, “Young master, you should be fine now. You should exercise more!”
“Yes, yes. You had locked yourself in your room for days!” Barkley said hurriedly
“Why don’t I push you out for a walk!”
John looked at Barkley coldly. “Have I fallen to the point where I’m pushed around by others?”
“Young master, that’s not what I meant!”
“Scram!”
Corey and Barkley saw that John was furious and did not dare to stay longer. They quickly left the room.
In the bedroom, John looked out of the window. His heart was still in great pain.
Kathleen was dead. She had been away from him for a month. Every night when he woke up in the middle of the night, he hoped that Kathleen’s death was just a dream.
Reality always disillusioned him.
People around him are telling him to stop dreaming. Kathleen is dead and cannot come back to life.
However, John always felt that Kathleen was still alive. She was alive in another way…
The cold wind blew through the window curtain into the room, making John’s heart even colder.
He returned to his desk and turned on his computer. He saw that he had received dozens of emails from his mailbox in the past month. Suddenly, he saw the email that Kathleen had given him. His heart skipped a beat.
John began to read the email that Kathleen sent him.
After finding the mail, John opened it, and the contents appeared before him.
It contained all the evidence of the car accident.
Kathleen’s father took the blame for someone else. The person who killed his parents was called Deamon White. He was the one who made Luther take the blame.
However, he promised to raise Kathleen and give her 10 million dollars.
However, after Luther died, he did not raise Kathleen nor give her 10 million dollars. Instead, his family moved to Sydnay.
John’s face turned ashen when he saw this, and anger welled up in his heart.
Luther was clearly the one who took the blame for him, yet Deamon did not fulfill his promise.
He took a deep breath, picked up his phone, and immediately made a call to Karl.
When Karl received a call from John, he was very surprised. “Mr. Lambert, are you feeling better?”
John said in a deep voice, “Immediately investigate a person!”
“Yes!”
“Deamon and Haniel White!”
“They were from Hillford twelve years ago and moved to Sydnay.”
“Yes, Mr. Lambert!”
After hanging up the phone, Karl followed John’s instructions to investigate Deamon.
The Lambert Group had a strong network of connections, so it was effortless to investigate a person.
In less than three days, Karl had found out all the information about Deamon and Haniel.
Deamon was a wealthy businessman in his forties and fifties. He did not have much contact with Luther.
Luther Yates took the blame for Deamon because of his sister, Haniel White.
This woman was Luther’s, first love. She was the woman he had loved for more than ten years.
The two of them had a strong relationship in school.
However, Luther did not have any money, so Haneil chose to marry a wealthy businessman, James Alexander.
A few years later, because of James’s promiscuity and domestic violence, Haniel chose to end the marriage.
Knowing that Haniel had divorced her husband, Luther wanted to find her. Instead, he encountered the scene of Deamon getting drunk and getting into a car accident.
After Haniel learned of all this, she was extremely sad. She cried and said that her brother could not go to jail and asked Luther to help her.
Luther could not bear to see her sad, so he chose to take the blame for Deamon.
Originally, he would have been sentenced to jail for drunk driving, but he would not have been sentenced to death.
However, no one would have thought that John would lose his parents. He could not bear it in his heart. Under his powerful influence, Luther was sentenced to death.
Luther had thought of telling the truth, but he gave up when he thought of Haniel. He had loved this woman for all these years. If this life could make her happy, then he would not mind giving it to her.
In any case, in this world, besides his daughter, Kathleen, there was no one else.
Luther chose to continue taking the blame for Deamon, but he asked Deamon to help him take care of Kathleen as she grew up.
Deamon promised to help him bring up Kathleen, and he would also give Kathleen a large sum of money.
After obtaining the promise from Deamon and Haniel, Luther chose to continue taking the blame, and in the end, he was shot to death.
John learned of the truth from that year. His blood was burning. How could this Luther be so stupid? He had given up on his life just like that, and Haniel did not love him at all. Why did he have to die so unjustly?
John was furious. He resubmitted the unjustly accused case from that year and had the court retry it.
The Lambert group pressured Deamon and Haniel, and the police quickly arrested them.
Although Deamon had moved to Sydnay, he had kept some connections in Hillford. He had never thought that a matter that had happened over ten years ago would be exposed to the public.
Haniel was also shocked. These two siblings were currently living in Sydnay comfortably.
Meanwhile, Luther had died unjustly, and Kathleen had to pay off his debts for over ten years.
A month later, the court once again tried the case from that year. Under the many pieces of evidence, Deamon and Haniel finally admitted their crimes.
Deamon was sentenced to 20 years in prison for hitting someone with a car and finding someone to take the blame. Haniel knew about it but did not report it, so she deliberately hid it and was sentenced to three years in prison.
The truth was finally revealed…
On the day that John came out of the court, John’s face was still red, although it was a sunny day.
The warm wind gently blew at the ends of people’s hair, but it still brought a slight chill.
He raised his eyes to look at the sky, and his eyes slowly turned red.
Luther Yates was wrongly accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and did not cause the death of his parents.
Kathleen was forced to pay off his debts for more than ten years.
In these ten years, just what did Kathleen pay off? Just how did he treat this little thing.
He forced her into a corner.
John’s face turned pale. He wanted to open the car door and get into the car, but in the end, his body went limp, and he collapsed on the ground.
Karl quickly helped him up and asked anxiously, “Mr. Lambert, what happened?”
Ever since Kathleen’s death, John’s body had been ruined by staying up late, drinking, and smoking.
His body and mind had suffered indelible injuries. He tortured himself every day and could not recover.
His prosthetic leg had not been cleaned for a long time. His leg began to become inflamed and swollen.
John was once again admitted to the hospital.
When Matthew, Rachel, and the others received the news, they immediately rushed to the hospital.
In the ward, the Doctor treated John’s wound and gave him an IV drip.
Rachel looked at John’s haggard appearance and sighed. “He’s sick again. Ever since Kathleen died, John’s body hasn’t been better!”
It was not a high fever but an inflamed leg injury. His mental state was also horrible.
Waverly said angrily, “He actually overturned the case for Kathleen’s father, and in the end, his body was burnt to a crisp!”
She could not help but grumble, “Kathleen really doesn ‘t make people feel at ease when she’s alive. Even when she’s dead, she still doesn’t make people feel at ease!”
