Deadly Doting Marriage Novel - Chapter 91
Chapter 91: I Can’t Accept You as Someone Else’s Bride
He wanted to spend his life here with her!
Time passed quickly, and soon it was the evening.
The setting sun dyed the sky and the white clouds red.
John led Kathleen out of the cabin and sat her down on the beach.
The waves crashed into the shore one at a time.
John pulled Kathleen into his arms and lowered his head to look at her. His black eyes were as deep as the stars in the night sky.
He had locked Kathleen here for three days and three nights.
John had taken care of her, feeding her and cooking for her. He took care of her as carefully as Kathleen took care of him in the past.
However, no matter how much care he gave Kathleen, he could not see a smile on her face.
She became quieter with each passing day, withering like a flower.
John muttered, “Kathleen, is it that painful to be with me?”
Kathleen raised her eyes to look at him in silence.
“Do you hate me for not taking you that night…”
“But Kathleen, can’t you see? I disagree with you marrying Carlos. I raised you. You are mine!” John yelled.
Kathleen finally spoke, “You took what you wanted. What else do you want?”
John said, “I want you to stay by my side for the rest of your life and never leave.”
After saying that, he brought Kathleen back to the small cabin.
The night grew dark, and the cold wind whistled through the windows, making people shiver.
After closing the window, John carried Kathleen into bed.
He kissed her so hard, over and over again…
Kathleen had not resisted, allowing John to do whatever he wanted.
She hoped that she would be able to pay all her debts in a few days and that she would never owe him anything in her life…
However, John felt that she was not a person but just an empty husk at the moment.
He grabbed Kathleen’s chin and forced her to look at him.
“Why? Why are you so happy when you’re with Carlos, but you would not even speak a word to
“Tell me, Kathleen. How am I worse than Carlos?”
“Had I not treated you well? I can give you the world, and yet you still would not look at me?” Kathleen looked at him quietly, remaining silent.
John’s heart was filled with pain. He hugged Kathleen tightly in his arms and buried his head in her chest.
“Kathleen, I know that you hate me. You still have to stay by my side even if you hate me!”
“You are mine, and no one can take you away from me!”
The days in the small cabin were peaceful and quiet. There was no one here to disturb John or Kathleen.
Kathleen would eat, watch the sunrise and sunset in a daze, and rest quietly. However, she would not say a single word to John.
When John brought her out, she would quietly look at the blue sea.
When John had not brought her out, Kathleen would quietly look out the window.
She was skinny before, but she became more and more haggard. Her palm-sized face did not have any flesh at all. In just three days, she was so thin that she was almost shapeless.
John’s heart ached endlessly. He immediately gave a call to Karl and asked him to send over some vitamins.
He could not bear the fact that the little thing he had raised had become so haggard and unfamiliar. It was as if she was another person…
The Lambert Group.
It was already three o’clock in the afternoon when Karl received a call from John.
He took a look at the time and went downstairs to drive away from the company.
Sherri had been watching him the whole time. She immediately followed him in her car when she saw him drive out.
She had been following Karl Jordan for several days. During the day, Angie would monitor him in the company, and at night, Sherri would follow Karl Jordan.
Karl Jordan was John’s personal assistant. She would definitely be able to find some clues through Karl.
The afternoon sun had faded away from its scorching heat, becoming thin and gentle.
The cold wind whistled, and the leaves on the trees fell to the ground.
Karl parked his car at the entrance of the bird’s nest shop, opened the door, and walked in.
Sherri was sitting in the car, staring at Karl with a slightly surprised expression.
It was strange. Why wasn’t Karl looking for John? Why was he going to the bird’s nest shop?
Sherri sat in the car, staring at Karl for a while. Then, Karl Jordan walked out with a box of bird’s nests.
After he started the car and left, he went to a sea cucumber shop.
After he bought a box of sea cucumbers, he drove away.
Sherri’s eyes flashed. He frequently bought health products? Could it be that someone around him was sick?
Sherri followed Karl as he drove on. She realized that Karl did not return to the Lambert’s residence villa. Instead, he drove in the direction of Crafield.
She was pretty sure that Karl must have gone to look for John. Otherwise, he would not have left the city.
Sherri followed behind Karl slowly.
She had a hunch that Karl would definitely know where John was!
In the evening, the setting sun dyed the sky red. Under the glow of the sunset, the sea shimmered with sparkling light.
John and Kathleen sat on the beach, watching the sea churning. They were silent.
For the past three days, John had been by Kathleen’s side. He even felt that it was possible to hide her like this.
She had already become his. He would never let go of her.
The life in the small cabin was dull and uninteresting. Watching the sunrise and sunset every day seemed to have become their life.
The cold wind whistled, and the sea waves rolled up onto the shore, making whooshing sounds.
John stared at Kathleen’s thin side profile and finally opened his mouth, “Tomorrow is the engagement between you and Carlos. As long as you don’t appear, the entire engagement will be canceled…!”
“I know that you hate me, but it’s useless. I will continue to lock you here until the engagement is over,” said John.
“I’ve said it before. You’re mine. I can’t accept you becoming someone else’s bride.”
Kathleen did not seem to hear what he said, and her expression was still indifferent. She quietly looked at the sea, her black eyes empty and lifeless.
She would always show him that expression that would cause him great pain. “Kathleen, are you punishing me?”
“Punish me for killing Jimmy and Alex, punish me for turning you mine? Punish me for bringing you here and imprisoning you? Is that right?”
“Kathleen, if your punishment was silence, you have succeeded!” She succeeded in piercing his heart!
Kathleen raised her head and looked at John. Her once bright black eyes had become dull. She just looked at him quietly.
John held her shoulders tightly, his heart burning. He knew it was wrong to hurt her like this, but he could not control it.
John’s face turned blue. “Say something. Why aren’t you saying anything?”
“What do I have to do to make you say something? What do I have to do to make you smile?”
“I want you to smile at me like you’re smiling at Carlos!”
