Deadly Doting Marriage Novel - Chapter 90
Chapter 90: Kathleen Is Missing
He wanted to use her just because he was drugged!
John ignored her and gave Carlos a good beating.
Kathleen’s face turned cold. She turned around and was about to leave.
However, John grabbed her hand and said in a deep voice, “Where are you going?”
“I’ll leave Carlos to you. Send him to the hospital. I’m leaving,” Kathleen said.
These words were like a bomb, igniting all the anger in John’s heart.
He grabbed Kathleen’s chin and said fiercely, “Kathleen, you’re not allowed to leave. You allowed Carlos to kiss you. You’re already mine. Do you like to trample my feelings for you to the ground?”
Kathleen looked at him quietly for a while, then turned around and was about to leave.
John held her in his arms and dragged her toward the car.
Kathleen was shocked. “Young master, what are you doing?”
John sneered. “What am I going to do? You’ll find out soon enough!”
He put Kathleen in the driver’s seat and drove away from the hospital.
Carlos was lying in front of the hospital after being beaten. Kathleen clenched her fists and struggled to get out of the car.
“Young master, let me out. Carlos is in danger,” Kathleen yelled.
“You’re so concerned about him? The person you should be concerned about now is me. You’re mine!”
John was about to drive away when Kathleen grabbed the steering wheel.
John was so angry that he struck the back of Kathleen’s neck, and she immediately fainted.
After pushing Kathleen away, John drove straight to the shores of Crafield.
There was a small cabin that he had bought a long time ago. It was for his vacation with Kathleen.
He would not let her go. He’ll spend his life with her here.
When the car arrived at the cabin, John opened the door and carried Kathleen out of the car. The waves crashing against the shore.
John walked to the front of the cabin, kicked open the wooden door with one foot, and turned on the lights inside.
The lights flashed, and the entire wooden house instantly lit up as if it was daytime.
The cabin was similar to a small apartment. It had a bedroom, a dining room, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
Even though it was small, it had everything.
John gently placed Kathleen on the bed, took off her shoes, and covered her with a blanket.
John looked at her delicate little face and turned away after a long while.
Before he left, he locked the door, trapping Kathleen in.
The next morning, the sun shined through the thin clouds, warming the sea.
The wind whistled, the waves continued to crash against the shore, again and again.
Inside the cabin, Kathleen finally opened her eyes.
She opened her eyes and saw that everything in front of her was unfamiliar.
She rubbed her eyes, sat up, and furrowed her brows. Where was she?
Yesterday’s memories instantly returned to her. It was John who took her away! He left Carlos outside the hospital’s entrance.
Kathleen struggled to get up. She opened the door and was about to leave, but the door would not budge.
In the cabin, only the sound of the waves rolling could be heard outside.
Kathleen looked around and opened the window.
In front of her was an azure blue sea. The sea breeze whistled, and the waves blossomed.
The sunlight shone on the sea.
Kathleen’s little face was ashen under the sunlight.
Was it the young master who brought her here and imprisoned her?
How could such a small wooden house lock her up, but where could she escape to?
She wanted to see what John was planning by locking her up here.
She seemed to have an unpayable debt to John.
At the Millan’s residence.
Sherri sat on the sofa and talked on the phone with Angie.
When she heard what Angie said, she replied in surprise, “Wait, are you saying that John had not gone to the company again?”
“Yes, Mr. Lambert hasn’t been to the company for a few days. There are a lot of important documents waiting for him to sign!”
Sherri frowned. This was strange.
John had not gone to the company. Where could he have gone? Could he have gone to look for Kathleen again?
Sherri could not sit still when she thought of this possibility.
After hanging up the phone, she got dressed and drove to Greenfield Apartment in Crafield.
She reached the apartment building and was about to park her car when she saw Carlos and Erwin walking out.
Sherri narrowed her eyes in surprise. Why were the two of them here?
Not far away, Erwin took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up. He patted Carlos’s shoulder and said, “Kathleen isn’t a child anymore. What could have happened to her? Don’t overthink about it. Maybe she went out to play with her friends!”
Carlos frowned. “That’s impossible. Kathleen doesn’t have many friends, and even if she goes out to play, she will not turn off her phone!”
Carlos remembered that he was beaten by John that night and was left outside the hospital. Fortunately, someone saw him and carried him in for treatment. Othenvise, he would have died that night.
John was actually so cruel. Kathleen was about to get engaged to him!
“Then where do you think she went? Would she be with John? Why don’t you give John a call and ask?”
Carlos’s face darkened. “John’s phone was turned off too. I can’t reach him.”
“Huh, I can’t get in touch with Kathleen, and I can’t get in touch with John either. Then it’s obvious that the two of them are together!”
“If Kathleen and John are together, then there’s nothing to worry about.”
“John had raised Kathleen after all. He probably saw that the two of you were about to get engaged, and he wanted to bring her out to play. John won’t do anything to her, so don’t let your imagination run wild!”
“I hope so!” Carlos said as the two of them left the place.
Sherri looked at them as they left, and her eyes narrowed.
Carlos was right. John was gone, and Kathleen was gone. The two of them were obviously together.
However, they were not in the apartment. Where else could they go?
Sherri rolled her eyes and immediately smiled. “Oh right, I can ask Karl!”
Karl Jordan was John’s right-hand man. As long as she can get to Karl, she would definitely be able to find out where John was.
It was ten in the afternoon. The sunlight dispelled the coldness of winter and brought warmth.
John parked his car by the shore and unlocked the wooden house.
He placed the things he had bought on the table and looked up at Kathleen.
Kathleen sat alone on the headboard of the bed. Her body curled up into a ball. Her long hair parted, revealing her pale little face.
Her eyes were bloodshot, and her lips were cracked from the dryness.
A pair of sorrowful eyes looked at John without any spirit. It was as if Kathleen was in despair.
John was stung by her gaze and walked towards her.
Kathleen took a step back, her eyes filled with despair.
John hugged her in his arms, his dark eyes flashing with pain.
He knew that Kathleen must be in great pain, but he would not let her go..
