Deadly Doting Marriage Novel - Chapter 84
Chapter 84: Are You Sure You Want to Marry Carlos?
Looking at how John entered the apartment, Sherri thought the two of them must have slept together countless times!
‘How could Kathleen be so despicable and have so many relationships with men? This b*tch must die…’
After John reached her apartment, he immediately took out his keys and opened the door.
Kathleen looked at him and frowned. “Why are you here?”
“Do you really want to marry Carlos?” said John, gritting his teeth
Kathleen fell silent and nodded. “Yes, I want to marry Carlos Reeves!”
She did not know if it was the right thing to do, but it was the only way to get rid of John.
John looked at Kathleen and asked in a deep voice, “Are you sure?”
Kathleen nodded. “I’m sure.”
She had really lost too many things in her life—family, friendship, and all the things that she treasured.
The main culprit for all of this was John.
She did not want to have anything to do with JOhn anymore. His paranoia and madness had made her want to escape.
Kathleen finished her answer, no longer paid him any attention, and entered her bedroom.
Looking at her slender back, John’s face turned cold. He clenched his fists and sat on the sofa in the living room.
He took out his lighter and lit a cigarette.
He put it to his mouth and began to smoke.
The faint smell of smoke soon filled the living room.
After he finished one cigarette, John put out the cigarette butt and lit another one.
The cigarette lit up and burned quietly.
The fire of the lighter lit up the dim room.
Under the light of the fire, John’s face was pale, and a bitter smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
The night outside the window was as dark as ink, and nothing could be seen clearly.
John finished a pack of cigarettes, stood up abruptly, opened the door, and left the apartment.
Sherri had been waiting for John in her car. It was only after midnight that she saw John come down.
Seeing his figure, Sherri was slightly shocked. He had come down at this hour, so she could be sure that something had happened between him and that b*tch.
After John went downstairs, he got in the car and left the apartment complex.
Sherri was worried that John would get into an accident, so she drove behind John.
The night was as cold as water. There was not a single glimmer of starlight in the dark sky.
John returned to Hillford. He drove to the wild encounter bar and entered it.
Sherri wanted to follow John in, but she was worried that John would be angry, so she could only wait outside.
It was two o’clock in the morning. There were many people in the bar.
Countless boys and girls danced on the dance floor as the DJ played.
The bartender sat at the bar counter and welcomed one customer after another.
John walked up and ordered a glass of whiskey.
The bartender recognized him at a glance. “Mr. Lambert!”
John’s face was cold. “Cut the crap and give me the whiskey!”
The bartender dared not ask anything more and quickly gave him a large glass of whiskey.
The music around him was loud, but Kathleen was all John could think about.
Her every move, frown, smile, the way she spoke, the way she laughed.
The way she chatted happily with Carlos, the way she took Carlos’s flowers, the way Carlos looked at her.
She even looked like she was taking the initiative to invite him into her apartment.
Every single scene kept replaying in John’s mind.
John’s emotions were fluctuating. He raised his head and drank all the whiskey in his glass.
“Again, give me another glass!”
The bartender did not dare to provoke him, so he poured him another glass of whiskey.
John took the glass. He held the glass tightly, and his eyes were filled with cold hatred.
Why would she choose Carlos over John?
John’s heart sank. He drank one glass after another. After drinking for an unknown amount of time, his vision became blurry.
Outside, Sherri had been waiting for John for two hours. When she saw that he still had not come out, she could not help but get out of the car.
After entering the bar, she looked for John. Soon, she saw the drunken John at the bar counter.
She hurried over and asked John anxiously, “John, are you alright?”
John heard her voice and a glimmer of hope flashed across his eyes.
John raised his head and looked at her. However, when he saw that it was Sherri, the light in his eyes dimmed again. “Why is it you?”
“Who else could it be?”
Sherri looked at him and sighed. “Stop drinking. You’re drunk!”
“I’m not drunk. I want another glass!” John shook his head “John, stop fooling around. I’ll send you back!”
“Get lost!” John raised his hand and fell out of the seat.
Sherri quickly grabbed him and helped him out. “There’s alcohol at home. I’ll drink with you when we get home, okay?”
John’s eyes were wide open. He could not see the person in front of him clearly. He followed Sherri and staggered into the car.
Sherri helped him to the back seat and drove back to the Lambert’s residential villa.
Barkley heard a noise and walked out.
He looked at the two of them and said in surprise, “Ms. Millan, what is young master doing?”
“He’s drunk. Let’s carry him up first!”
Barkley nodded and helped John to the bedroom.
Once in the bedroom, Sherri took off John’s shoes and helped him lie down on the bed.
Barley looked at John and sighed. “Sigh, I really don’t know how long young master is going to torture himselfl”
Sherri asked, “Has he been like this for a long time?”
“Yes, ever since Ms. Yates left…’
Barkley was halfway through his sentence when he suddenly realized that he had said too much. He hurriedly said, “Young master is probably in a bad mood. I’ll go prepare the hangover soup!”
After saying that, he dared not look at Sherri’s expression and left in a hurry.
Sherri’s face was livid, and she let out a deep breath. “This is Kathleen’s fault, again!”
As long as this Kathleen is around, John will never like her.
Sherri looked at John’s handsome face and secretly swore that she would find a chance to kill Kathleen.
After preparing the hangover soup, Barkley knocked on the door and went in.
Sherri glanced at him. “You can go. I’ll take care of John!”
Barkley nodded. “Alright, thank you for your help, Ms. Millan!” Barkley left obediently.
After Barkley left, Sherri took off John’s coat and pants.
Finally, she took off his prosthetic leg, taking care of him carefully.
John opened his eyes and saw the figure of the woman by the bed. A trace of joy flashed across his black eyes. “Kathleen, is that you?”
He took the woman into his arms and said gently, “You’re back, aren’t you? You’re finally back!”
Sherri was caught off guard by John, and her face instantly turned red.
They had been engaged for so long, but John had never held her like that..
