Deadly Doting Marriage Novel - Chapter 81
Chapter 81: I Am Now Your Fiancé
The staff bowed when Kathleen and Carlos entered the hotel.
“Welcome!”
The lobby manager recognized Carlos and enthusiastically welcomed him. “Mr. Reeves, you’re here. This way, please.”
Carlos nodded and pulled Kathleen toward the table by the window.
The manager smiled obsequiously. “Mr. Reeves, you haven’t been here in a while!”
Carlos smiled, “That’s true. I brought my fiancée this time!”
The manager looked at Kathleen and exclaimed, “Oh, so this is your fiancée. She’s lovely. It’s a pleasure to meet you!”
“I shall gift this beautiful young lady a piece of rose cake on the house!”
The waitress at the side nodded. “Yes, sir!”
“Please take your time looking through our menu. I will leave you two alone!” the manager said and walked away.
Kathleen darted a glance at Carlos. “Do you come here often?”
“Yeah, I do.”
Kathleen nodded. “Oh!”
Carlos passed her the menu. “Alright, order whatever you would like to eat!”
Kathleen lowered her head to look at the menu and ordered a few dishes.
Carlos looked at the price of the dishes and could not help but tease, “Don’t worry about the price of the meal. I will be paying for it!”
“I’m just used to being frugal!” She was also rich, but she just did not like to spend money extravagantly.
Carlos looked deeply at Kathleen. “You don’t have to live so prudently!”
“You like when you are in the Reeves family. I won’t restrict you too much!”
Kathleen said calmly, “Thank you. This is exactly what I want!”
Carlos could not help but laugh. “You’re really straightforward!”
He ordered a few more dishes and handed the menu to the waiter. “Alright, that’s all!”
The waiter nodded and left.
Waverly had been watching the two of them from inside her car.
She looked at the two of them chatting happily and snapped a few photos.
John was so concerned about this Kathleen that he started drinking at home.
Now, Kathleen was hooking up with his friend, laughing happily. What a shameless B*tch!
In the restaurant, the waiter quickly brought the dishes that the two of them ordered to the table.
Carlos gave Kathleen a bowl of bird’s nest and said, “Eat it, I specially ordered it for you!” Bird’s nest is very valuable because of its low yield and high nutritional value.
Carlos’s mother ate this to nourish her body. Therefore, he also gave Kathleen some.
Kathleen took it and said gently, “Thank you!”
Carlos smirked. “No need to thank me. You are my fiancée and future wife. Saying thank you will be way too formal!”
“You can just call me Carlos!”
Carlos started to take some food and place them on her plate. “Eat them. These are the specialty dishes here. They’re very delicious!”
“Thank you!”
Carlos pointed at Kathleen. “Hey, you’ve broken the rules again. You’re not allowed to say thank you!”
Kathleen could not help but laugh. “Okay, got it.”
Eating with Carlos had been a very pleasant experience.
This was because he was very attentive and considerate.
He was also very humorous. He was able to make Kathleen smile with just a few words.
Outside the window, Waverly watched this scene with her heart twisted with jealousy.
What was wrong with all these men? Why were all of them treating this Kathleen so well?
First, it was Jonah, then Jimmy and Alex. Next was her cousin and now Carlos as well.
All of them would stand out in the crowd, yet all of them were partial to Kathleen.
This was too unfair!
Waverly snapped a few photos, focusing on the moments when Kathleen revealed a smile.
She had to let John know how shameless this woman was in front of other men.
She wanted her John to kill Kathleen!
The afternoon sun shone through the window into the hall, bringing traces of warmth.
After Kathleen and Carlos finished their meal, they left the Hyatt Hotel.
The two of them walked to the front of his luxury car. Carlos opened the car door and said to Kathleen, “Let’s go, I’ll send you back!”
Kathleen said indifferently, “There’s no need, I can go back by myself!”
“How can I let that happen? You’re a girl after all. I’ll send you back!”
Kathleen did not want to argue with Carlos over such a small matter. She nodded and entered the car.
When Waverly saw this scene, she quickly drove over as well.
The car quickly arrived at Kathleen’s apartment building.
Carlos grinned. “So, this is where you live.”
Kathleen smiled faintly and opened the car door to get out. She looked at Carlos and said, “Thank you for today!”
“Do you have to be so polite? I’m going to be your fiancé soon. It’s only right to send you home!”
Kathleen looked at Kathleen and raised her eyebrows. “Are you sure you don’t need me to walk you upstairs?”
“No, I’ll go back by myselfl”
“Well, bye-bye, call me if you need anything!”
Kathleen nodded. “Alright!”
With that, Carlos started the car and drove away.
Watching his car disappear, Kathleen turned around and went back to her apartment.
Waverly narrowed her eyes and glanced at Kathleen. She sneered and left.
Unknowingly, the weather had already turned cold, and soon it was autumn. The leaves had withered and yellowed, and the wind had also become colder.
In the Lambert’s residential villa, John sat in his study, still drowning his sorrows with alcohol.
It had already been more than half a month ever since Kathleen had left.
Every day felt like a year to him, as he crazily missed Kathleen.
The two of them had been in love for so many years, yet she was so heartless and left.
She had disappeared from his world.
John was frustrated. He threw the documents on the table onto the floor again.
Paper flew all over the study. John had not cared about it. He threw the bottle of wine in his hand onto the floor as well.
The bottle of wine fell to the floor and shattered into pieces.
The wine spilled all over the floor, and the room was filled with the strong smell of wine.
When the servants outside heard these sounds, they trembled in fear and hurriedly left.
Barkley sighed, pushed open the door, and walked in. “Young master, it’s time for you to take your medicine!”
Without raising his head, John said furiously, “Scram!”
Seeing how John was acting, Barkley did not dare to say anything. He could only turn around and leave.
John was about to walk when he slipped and fell to the ground.
Seeing this, Barkley quickly came in to support him. “Young master, are you alright?”
“I’m fine!” John pushed Barkley away and staggered onto the sofa.
At this moment, the phone vibrated.
John’s face lit up and he quickly grabbed the phone.
Was It Kathleen? Could it be that she had thought it through and contacted him?
John opened it and saw that it was a message from Waverly.
A hint of disappointment flashed across his eyes as he opened up a message containing a few photos.
When he saw these photos, John’s brain exploded.
The photos were of Kathleen and Carlos together.
They were talking, eating, and even talking together..
