Deadly Doting Marriage Novel - Chapter 158
Chapter 158: Might Not Be Able to Return
How could the girl he raised, the woman he loved, be with another man?
Even if Kathleen hated him and resented him, even if she were unwilling to forgive him for the rest of her life, he would never be able to watch Kathleen be with another man.
This was simply more difficult for him to accept than taking his life!
Just thinking about it made him feel angry.
Kathleen could only be his!
Carlos looked at John’s expression and sighed softly, “In the end, Kathleen still cares about what happened four years ago?”
“After all, she really nearly lost her life!”
“In other words, she was someone who had died once. If you still want to ask for her forgiveness, it won’t be that easy.”
As he spoke, he poured himself a glass of wine and stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking up to the first floor.
A bitter smile rose at the corner of his mouth.
At least Kathleen was still alive. John could still think of a way to make up for it and beg for her forgiveness.
He can never see Jessica again.
“If I could, I’d rather exchange the whole Lambert family and the Lambert Group for her forgiveness!”
His dark eyes were filled with pain.
This god-like man spoke with a hint of helplessness in his tone.
Carlos lowered his eyes and said in a low voice, “She will forgive you. She will.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the door to the private room was pushed open.
Erwin walked in with a gloomy face. Behind him was a girl dressed in fashionably. She was the young lady of the Millan family from Murica, Susan.
Susan wore a white dress and a green coat. Her large, beautiful eyes were cold, giving off an air of arrogance.
Erwin did not introduce himself when he walked in. Instead, he sat on the sofa and started drinking. He did not want to bring this young lady with him, but she insisted on coming.
Looking at John and Carlos in the private room, Susan smiled and nodded. “Nice to meet you. I’m Erwin’s fiancée, Susan.”
Her cold voice carried a hint of arrogance. As she spoke, she glanced at John and Carlos.
John looked up at Susan and continued drinking.
Carlos raised his glass slightly. “Hello.”
Susan felt that John and Carlos were not very enthusiastic when they saw her.
She frowned slightly and walked over to sit next to Erwin. She looked at Erwin and said, “Erwin, I don’t like this place. Let’s go back!”
Erwin replied, “If you want to go back, go back. I still need to drink with them.”
Susan tugged at his arm and acted coquettishly. “Can’t you accompany me? I’m your fiancée.”
Erwin looked at her coldly. “Ms. Millan, it’s just a marriage alliance between our families. It’s just for show. Don’t take it seriously. You can play by yourself. There are many fun places in Crafield. I’ll get my secretary, Peter, to accompany you tomorrow.”
Susan was even more displeased when she heard that. “Erwin, what do you mean? I came to Crafield for you. Have you forgotten what the elders of the two families said? They want us to develop a relationship and get married!”
Erwin drank the wine in his hand in one gulp. He narrowed his dark, cold eyes and said, “Susan, don’t forget our deal!”
Susan’s face turned pale. She lowered her head and clenched her fists. Then, she sat beside Erwin obediently.
Only then did Erwin look at John. “By the way, why did you suddenly ask us to withdraw our forces? Didn’t you want to get rid of Taylor Group as soon as possible?”
He had just interfered with Taylor Group’s matters.
It was not satisfying to withdraw so quickly.
After all, it was a rare opportunity to fight against the Taylor family, and he might not have such an opportunity in the future.
John said indifferently, “The CEO of the Taylor Group is Kathleen.”
“If the Taylor Group is no longer around, Kathleen will leave with Bach.”
“She might not come back in the future!”
Thinking of this possibility, he could not help but feel his heart ache.
Fortunately, the Taylor Group had not gone bankrupt. Otherwise, Kathleen would have left. As long as the Taylor Group could maintain its current status quo, perhaps Kathleen would not leave. Then, he would still have a chance!
Carlos and Erwin looked at each other and suddenly came to a realization.
“In that case, we almost… chased Kathleen out!” Carlos said in surprise.
Fortunately, John found it in time, or else something bad would have happened.
John poured a glass of wine and drank it up. “All right, you don’t need to worry about this matter anymore!”
“I have a business to attend to, you may continue drinking!”
Then he stood up and was about to leave.
The phone in my pocket vibrates.
He took out his mobile phone to read the message. His expression became more gloomy.
It was a message from Tommy.
[Daddy, we will leave with Uncle Bach tomorrow. We will never come to Hillford again. This time, mommy will leave as well. Think of a plan!]
John furrowed his brows and tightened his grip on the phone.
His cold eyes were filled with killing intent.
“You want to take them away? You’re courting death!”
He actually wanted to take his women and children away!
‘Bach, even if you’re the young master of the Taylor family, don’t even think about taking my woman and children away!’
Before Carlos could ask what exactly was going on, John strode out of the private room in the bar.
There was a few seconds of silence in the private room. Erwin suddenly opened his mouth and asked, “Was he talking about Bach just now?”
Carlos shrugged. “Maybe.”
He then looked at the two people sitting on the sofa.
“I happen to have something on today. How about this? Let’s make an appointment another day.
I’ll treat you to a meal.”
Now that John had left, it was just him, Erwin, and Susan left.
The two people opposite them were already engaged. If he continued to stay, he would be like a third wheel.
Carlos left the private room as well. Erwin turned to look at Susan. “Let’s go back too.”
Susan nodded obediently. “Okay.”
When Erwin arrived downstairs, he subconsciously looked in the direction of the stage.
However, it was only a glance before he retracted his gaze.
Susan noticed his gaze. “What’s the matter? Is there anything else?”
Erwin shook his head. “No, let’s go back.”
He then walked out of the bar.
Ever since Nancy became pregnant, she had not been singing in the bar. However, in order to meet Erwin, she had often come to the bar.
At this moment, she saw Erwin and immediately stood up to chase after him. She shouted at Erwin, who was about to get into the car, “Erwin!”
The world outside the bar and inside the bar were two completely different worlds. Her voice was exceptionally clear.
Erwin’s hand that was holding onto the car door paused for a moment before he slowly turned around. Under the moonlight, he saw a girl dressed in plain clothes walking towards him. It was Nancy.
Susan, who was about to get into the car, followed the sound and saw Nancy running towards Erwin. She felt a faint sense of displeasure in her heart.
Erwin looked at Nancy, who was walking towards him, with an indifferent expression on his face. “What’s the matter?”
Nancy glanced at Susan. She seemed different from the other women in Erwin’s past life. They seemed like a world apart..
