Deadly Doting Marriage Novel - Chapter 134
Chapter 134: John’s Confession
Originally, Kathleen was already taller than Diana. For the first time ever, she was wearing high heels.
She lowered her gaze and looked at her in an imposing manner.
Diana raised her head and said softly, “I just wanted to remind Ms. Yates not to be too cruel to John!”
Kathleen snorted coldly. With one hand in her pocket, she threw out the other hand.
Slap!
The crisp sound of a slap rang out, and Diana was stunned for a moment.
Kathleen’s disdainful voice rang out. “Who do you think you are? You dare to tell me what to do!”
She had not even settled the score over the poisoning incident yesterday.
Today was the anniversary of her adoptive father’s death. She was not in the mood to deal with Diana.
She would play with her another day!
John could pay respects to Luther, but he definitely could not go with her!
Diana’s eyes were filled with tears. She shook her head gently and sobbed, “No! I only want you to treat John a little better. It’s just this one request!”
“John has been very pitiful these four years. Don’t treat him like this!”
Kathleen was getting impatient after hearing this. She took the handle of the umbrella from Shane’s hand and said, “Throw her out!”
“Yes.”
Shane went forward and grabbed Diana by the neck.
If it were not for Kathleen saying no to kill her for the time being, he would have killed Diana right now and avenged Kathleen.
Kathleen closed the umbrella and sat in the car.
Shane threw Diana to the side and scolded angrily, “Stay away from my miss!”
John originally wanted to look for Kathleen. However, he did not expect things to develop to such a stage.
Looking at Diana who was lying in the puddle, John went forward to help her up.
“Who told you to come?”
Diana bit her lower lip tightly and looked aggrieved. “I just wanted to persuade Ms. Yates because I know how you’ve lived these past few years.”
“I didn’t think… I didn’t think that Ms. Yates would not listen!”
As she spoke, tears fell down, mixing with the rain and sliding down her face.
Kathleen looked at the two people in the rearview mirror and sneered.
“She is really different!”
Shane took a towel and wiped off the water droplets on his body before getting into the car. He immediately started the car and left.
Kathleen’s gaze was fixed on the rearview mirror, watching as John helped Diana into the car. She sneered and looked away.
“Investigate who is Diana Parkins!”
“Yes.”
There was dead silence in the carriage, and both of them were exceptionally quiet.
After ten minutes, Shane said slowly, “Miss, why don’t you go back? It’s too dangerous here. I’m worried that something might happen to you. If I’m not by your side, then…”
“When the matter is over, I’ll naturally go back!” Kathleen directly interrupted him.
Hearing this, Shane did not dare to open his mouth again. He drove all the way to the cemetery.
They bought fresh flowers on the way. When they got to the cemetery, it was already past eight o’clock at night.
The sky had already darkened, but the rain was still falling.
Kathleen got off the car and walked over. Shane followed closely behind her, holding an umbrella for her.
She slowly put down the flowers in her hand, stood up, and looked at the grave in front of her. She could not help but feel a little ridiculous.
“Father, you’ve already passed away fifteen years ago!”
She often thought that if Luther Yates were still alive, her life would definitely be very different.
After all, she clearly knew how much Luther doted on her.
If Luther were still alive, she would not have been adopted by John, and naturally, this would not have happened.
Perhaps she would have followed the path that Luther had designed for her and married Carlos. However, there was no ‘if in this world. Reality and imagination were ultimately different.
Kathleen lowered her eyes and said in a low voice, “I’m living very well now. I’ve even found my biological parents. Thank you for raising me.”
“I’ve even given birth to a pair of twins, but you won’t be able to see them anymore!”
The voice drifted out slowly, like a beautiful piece of music, accompanied by the sound of rain that was exceptionally pleasing to the ears.
Kathleen stood in front of Luther’s grave for a full hour, occasionally saying a few words about the current situation as if she wanted to tell him about her life.
After getting into the car, Shane was just about to start the car when Kathleen suddenly opened her mouth, “Wait!”
Shane looked at Kathleen in the rearview mirror and asked, “Miss, do you have any orders?”
Kathleen looked at the time and said, “We’ll leave later!”
It was already past nine o’clock in the evening.
She wanted to see if the culprit who had ordered the assassination of Luther fifteen years ago would come today.
Shane was not clear about Kathleen’s thoughts and only thought that Kathleen was unwilling to part with Luther Yates.
The two sat in the car, listening to the sound of rain slapping against the window.
The rain is getting heavier and heavier, and time passes by.
Kathleen looked at the grave in the distance, and her expression turned cold.
‘I don’t think that guy’s coming?’
It was raining 15 years ago, and it’s still raining now.
Kathleen turned her head to look at Shane. Just as she was about to speak, she suddenly saw two figures standing in front of the grave.
John was standing in front of Luther’s grave with fresh flowers in his arms.
Karl was standing behind him, holding an umbrella for him. They were dressed in black suits, and they looked even more solemn on a rainy night.
“I’m going down for a while. Don’t move!”
After saying that, Kathleen took out an umbrella and opened the car door to get out.
Even though she could see the grave not far away from her from the car, Kathleen deliberately took a small path after getting out and went around it.
She hid behind a tombstone and watched as John put down the fresh flowers in his hand. Then, he knelt down on the ground and bowed three times in a row.
Kathleen’s brows tensed up, Her eyes were filled with worry, but it was fleeting,
After a few days of rain, the front of the tomb has been muddy.
So much water, his legs…
If you kneel down like this, the inflammation will get worse!
Kathleen’s worry flashed through her mind, but it was only for a while.
John was the man who killed Luther. How can you worry about his leg?
It was his duty to pay respects to Luther!
Even if his legs hurt, what did it have to do with you?
After kowtowing three times in front of the grave, John did not get up.
He looked at the grave in front of him and said in a low voice, “Mr. Yates, fifteen years ago, it was I who was too careless. It was I who caused your unjust death. I even transferred all of my hatred onto Kathleen.”
“I… I let her down. I even tortured her for eleven years! No matter how she wants to punish me, I have no complaints. As long as she can return to my side.”
“As long as she is willing to return, I am willing to do anything! Even if I am tortured by her and called crippled by her; I am also willing!”
John lowered his head. His voice was low and deep, but she could clearly hear it in the quiet night..
