Dark Blood Age - Chapter 172
Chapter 172: Chapter 172 Culture Fluid
Originally, Chu Yunsheng wanted to try his luck and find a tube inside the tomb that might be able to lead him deep into the swarm, but he did not expect that he would encounter one golden-shelled insect straightaway, and it was the one that just came out of its “cocoon”.
There were several pre-conditions to use the monster seal talisman, if he wanted to capture the monster successfully. The first one was that he had to use it when the monster was at its weakest status. It was the reason why he often used it at the time when the monster was dying.
He did not know whether this one was at its weakest status or not, but he was finally able to encounter one, so there was no way he would give it up without even trying. If he did fail, he would also be able to gain some valuable information as well.
Slowly taking out a monster seal talisman from the storage talisman, he was ready to cast it out.
The talisman had already been modified by him. It would no longer shine the bright light when it was activated.
However, if Yuan Qi fluctuated inside the tomb way too long, it would also alert the insects as well. So he had to do it as quickly as possible.
Half of the golden-shelled insect’s body was still inside the deflated meatball when the dim light of the monster seal talisman was cast onto it.
As if it knew that it was in a dangerous situation, it instantly started to struggle its huge body very hard, and attempted to fight back.
Although it was different than sealing a dying monster, the talisman still worked. It meant that this golden-shelled insect was very weak at the moment. However, compared to a dying monster, sealing this live one cost him much more Yuan Qi. Within less than three seconds, it almost consumed him two-third of his total Yuan Qi, and it was still rapidly decreasing.
If he could not seal the monster before he was exhausted with his energy, he would have huge trouble; the monster would be free from the talisman’s control and it would alert other insects.
He had absorption talismans, but with Yuan Tian stage two’s strength, he could not use Yuan Qi and then absorb Yuan Qi at the same time. He had to rely on the last ⅓ of Yuan Qi and hoped that the golden-shelled insect would be exhausted soon.
A man and an insect both were struggling and both of them did not want to give up. Other meatballs around them also squirmed from time to time, it made Chu Yunsheng even more nervous.
Time quickly passed. When Chu Yunsheng’s energy was almost empty, the new golden-shelled insect finally stopped struggling.
After a quiet whoosh sound, the golden-shelled inset was shrunken, and flew towards the monster seal talisman.
It was at this moment, an accident happened!
When the talisman pulled the golden-shelled insect out, it also broke the two tubes that were attached to it. One of the tubes burst out a golden coloured liquid, the other tube burst out a red coloured liquid. Some of those liquids were sucked into talisman with the golden-shelled insect, but some of them were splattered over Chu Yunsheng’s armour.
The liquid splatters that had been sucked into the monster seal talisman were immediately thrown out of the talisman, and went into the gaps between the armour. Soon, an acute burning sensation was quickly spread all over his body.
Chu Yunsheng was shocked. He instinctively thought that he had been poisoned. A sudden panic caused him to quickly turn around and run into the tube that he used to come in.
Meanwhile, the internal wall of the tomb suddenly started to squirm violently. Then a huge tube shot out from deep inside the tomb and connected the tube that Chu Yunsheng used to come in. Luckily, Chu Yunsheng had already gotten into the tube and he was on the way out.
“Puff!”
A gush of red slimy liquid burst out from deep inside the tomb, Chu Yunsheng and little tiger were flushed out by the slimy liquid.
As soon as he got out, he heard many red-shelled insects in the swarm screeching loudly while running towards the crater quickly.
‘They must have noticed me!’ Chu Yunsheng thought.
He barely had any Yuan Qi left, so he did not dare to stay any longer. He immediately started to run away with the little tiger.
There were many craters they could use to hide near the riverside. The insects did not chase to the riverside; they only searched the area near the tube. After they did not find anything, they all returned back to the swarm.
Chu Yunsheng also did not dare to run too far, because he was scared that it would increase the speed of the poison spreading across his body. After hiding into a crater that was almost two men’s deep, he quickly took out an alexipharmic talisman.
However, after the talisman removed the poison out of his body and stopped the burning sensations, he still felt that something was not right.
Only until he started to restore Yuan Qi, did he notice that his cultivation speed has been increased. Although just a few seconds of difference, he still noticed it.
He has been staying at Yuan Tian stage two for quite a while now, any slight Yuan Qi fluctuation differences inside his body would be immediately noticed by him.
‘Is it because of those golden and red coloured slimy liquids?’
He remembered that the meatballs had two small tubes attached to them, and the golden-shelled insect was inside one of those meatballs.
‘Are those some kind of culture fluid? Or is it just one of them? Does the insect use it to speed up the golden-shelled insect’s growth?’ Although he did not know which one had increased his cultivation speed, there were some still on his armour. So he quickly wiped them off from his amour, and stored them in the bottles he took out from the storage talisman.
He planned to study those liquids when he got back to the city, but at the moment, he still needed to find a purple flame monster.
Chu Yunsheng had learned his mistake from the last time he sealed the golden-shelled insect in the southern district. He immediately cut off his Yuan Qi supply to the monster seal talisman after he confirmed that the sealing process was successful.
Otherwise, with the golden-shelled insect’s scary Yuan Qi consumption, he would have probably lost his ability to move when he was inside the tomb.
Only when he fully restored his Yuan Qi did he dare to resume the connection. Then he summoned the golden-shelled insect and started to prepare a hole in its back.
When Chu Yunsheng once again returned to the slimy ground, he clearly felt that the influence of “Min” on the insect he controlled was much weaker now.
He controlled the golden-shelled insect and carefully moved around inside the swarm. With the little tiger’s detection ability, they finally found a purple flame monster near a tomb.
Unlike the busy red-shelled insects, the purple flame monster just stayed in one place, not moving. Only its two antennas were twitching in the air from time to time. Not a single insect dared to approach it. All the insects in the swarm were moving around it.
Chu Yunsheng also saw a worm fall on top of its antennas from the top of the tomb accidentally. The worm was instantly burned into ashes.
It was like a king, no insect was allowed to touch its territory. The area around it was a “no-insect” zone.
Chu Yunsheng took a deep breath, and slowly controlled the golden-shelled insect to approach it. Then all of sudden, he ordered the golden-shelled insect to spit fire at the purple flaming monster.
It is a provocation! A deliberate provocation!
And the purple flame monster would not allow such a thing to exist in the swarm.
It would not allow a golden-shelled insect to offend its authority.
However, before it reacted, Chu Yunsheng already ordered the golden-shelled insect to dig into the ground and dig toward the riverside.
Worrying that the purple flame monster would not be able to find him, he ordered the golden-shelled insect to dig out of the ground from time to time.
The purple flame monster was enraged by this golden-shelled insect’s behaviour. It instantly charged out and tried to catch the golden-shelled insect, but then the golden-shelled insect dug into the ground once again.
It was like a Whac-A-Mole game. The golden-shelled insect was a mole and the purple flame monster was the one trying to whack it.
However, what the purple flame monster did not know was that it was slowly being led into a death trap.
