Cosmic Professional Gladiator Novel - Chapter 674
674 To Myriad Star Island
A man appeared in the Milky Way, just beyond Earth.
Earth.
He gazed at the planet with a mix of emotions, memories flooding back.
He was from this planet, his ancestors having lived and thrived here for years.
I’ve finally become a high-dimensional lifeform after more than 3,900 years. Stepping forward, he arrived midair above the towering headquarters of the Pearwood Group. He looked through the glass and saw his wife, Li Miaomiao, hard at work.
In a flash, Xu Jingming’s body passed through the glass and into the office.
Huh? Li Miaomiao, who had been reviewing the business on a projection, looked up in surprise. She couldn’t help but smile. “Jingming, don’t you spend all day back home constructing a high-dimensional lifeform structure? What are you doing here?”
“I came to pick you up from work,” Xu Jingming replied with a grin.
“How rare!” Li Miaomiao shut off the projection and stood up. “Forget about work; I’ll spend the day with my husband.”
The couple walked out of the office, leaving the employees stunned.
“T-that’s…”
“Lord Wu Ming?”
“Is that Lord Wu Ming?”
The employees were stunned.
“I’ve worked here for over three centuries, and this is the first time I’ve seen him.”
“Lord Wu Ming actually appeared at the group’s headquarters!” The employees of the Pearwood Group’s headquarters were in an uproar. Most of them saw Xu Jingming for the first time in their lives.
Xu Jingming and Li Miaomiao calmly made their way out of the building, unfazed by the commotion they had caused.
It was a rare occasion for her husband to be here, as he was always so busy.
“Jingming, what’s the happy occasion?” she asked, clearly jubilant.
“It is a happy occasion,” Xu Jingming replied, grinning from ear to ear.
“What is it? Tell me, I want to be happy too,” Li Miaomiao said, having not put much thought into it.
“I’ve finally succeeded in building a high-dimensional body,” Xu Jingming remarked.
“Huh, you finally succeeded?” Li Miaomiao was delighted. Then, the realization hit her as she couldn’t help but ask, “Jingming, do you mean?”
Xu Jingming looked at his wife. “I’ve become a high-dimensional lifeform.”
Li Miaomiao’s mind went adrift.
High-dimensional lifeform? Her husband had become a high-dimensional lifeform?
“You finally succeeded? But didn’t you say it would take another 10,000 years?” she asked in disbelief.
“That was just a guess,” Xu Jingming replied, still beaming with pride. “I’m just that talented.”
“High-dimensional lifeform.” Li Miaomiao had mixed feelings as she gazed at her spouse. “Jingming, do you see me as an ant now? Do you instinctively dislike me? I know the difference between low and high-dimensional lifeforms is immense.”
Xu Jingming chuckled. “Don’t get ahead of yourself. High-dimensional lifeforms don’t think the same way as low-dimensional lifeforms. Don’t make assumptions.”
Li Miaomiao fixed her gaze on her husband. “What are your thoughts then? I’m very curious. How does a high-dimensional lifeform feel about a low-dimensional wife?”
“When viewed from high-dimensional space, even powerful beings who were once low-dimensional lifeforms have a strong desire to protect and care for their species,” Xu Jingming explained. “It’s like a strong adult wanting to protect a weak baby.”
“High-dimensional lifeforms also have a desire to protect and favor their species,” Xu Jingming continued. “Because I was once weak, I have no negative thoughts toward you.”
Li Miaomiao smiled.
“Today is a joyous occasion. Let’s celebrate with a feast,” Xu Jingming said.
“Breaking through to high-dimensional is a huge matter. Why are you so free?” Li Miaomiao was surprised.
“From now on, I’ll be able to spend every second of my life with you,” Xu Jingming replied.
Li Miaomiao was speechless.
“I know I’ve been busy all these years,” Xu Jingming said, his gaze fixed on his wife. “I wasn’t able to spend much time with you, travel the universe, or play virtual world games. But now, I have all the time in the world to make it up to you.”
He owed his wife a lot.
He had been working hard to become an Origin lifeform to change Earth’s fate, and later, he had to fight in the species battlefield, which resulted in his corruption with high-dimensional forces.
However, he never gave up even after he became a cosmic legend… He worked tirelessly to become a high-dimensional lifeform, as he didn’t want to waste any precious time that might lead to a failure.
But now, Xu Jingming could finally relax.
“There’s no need,” Li Miaomiao said.
“As a Heart Realm high-dimensional life form, I can split into multiple clones,” Xu Jingming explained. “This body of mine is dedicated to enjoying life with my family.”
Being able to spend time with his loved ones was a small price to pay for his immense consciousness.
While his other clones roamed the vast reaches of high-dimensional space, this one would always be with his family.
Family members have a finite lifespan, Xu Jingming thought. And even with the gift of becoming an Origin lifeform, that lifespan is only extended to 30,000 years. With the use of high-dimensional treasures, I may be able to stretch it to 100,000 years. However, tens of thousands of years is a mere fraction of my long life, and the thought of missing out on being with my family will be a lifelong regret.
Yes, Xu Jingming’s determination to revive his family and bestow upon them long lifespans was unshakable. However, the path to cultivate Monhado to the half-step third realm was fraught with difficulty.
Xu Jingming was acutely aware of this, knowing that even the powerful Void Celestials with their five legacies and half-step third realm legacies, only Gumo had succeeded in reaching that level.
The three Paramounts of the human race—despite having half-step third realm legacies—had also attempted to reach that level, but with no success.
Xu Jingming was from the Heart Realm lineage, while Monhado was a physical body lineage. It was a path that was entirely different from what he was good at. The difficulty of reaching the half-step third realm was plain to see.
Therefore, Xu Jingming knew very well that it was very likely that he—like many high-dimensional lifeforms—couldn’t revive his family and make them eternal! He would also end up like many high-dimensional lifeforms—alone for the rest of his life.
He would do everything in his power to achieve his goal of bringing back his family.
Still, he cherished the moments with his wife and family more.
Let’s enjoy ourselves and cherish the time we have together, Xu Jingming thought as he looked at his wife. So that I don’t have any regrets in the long days ahead.
“It’s a promise!” Li Miaomiao smiled brightly. “Let’s enjoy ourselves!”
…
Xu Jingming became the fifth high-dimensional lifeform of the cosmic human race. After he reviewed and approved the press release, this news of his achievement spread like wildfire through the 34 cosmic sectors.
In a mere 3,900 years, he had risen to become a Paramount!
He was the strongest cosmic legend in the universe at the time of his breakthrough!
“My father has reached the Paramount realm?” As Xu Lixing held a gathering, she received the news of her father’s accomplishment and was left speechless. From her earliest memories, Xu Jingming had always been a genius on Earth, and she had even accompanied him to the Blood Rain World to earn money! Her first love, Qin Fangke, had even tried to make her his lover.
Later on, her father became an Origin lifeform, a cosmic legend, and now, a Paramount.
…
Tejano exclaimed as he swiped through the latest news while chatting with his group of friends. He was always open to making new friends as long as they shared his interests, and he couldn’t believe what he was reading. “My boy, Xu Jingming, has reached the Paramount realm?”
“Heavens!”
Tejano studied the information on the projection screen. “3,900 years to reach the Paramount realm? This guy’s got serious talent!”
Tejano, who lacked any real talent himself and had relied on external forces to become a cosmic and Origin lifeform, felt a pang of jealousy and envy as he read the news.
“I can’t believe it.” He sighed. “I was assigned to protect Earth, and that’s how I met Xu Jingming. How could this be a coincidence?”
“Tejano, you’re one lucky son of a gun when it comes to cosmic humans,” one of his companions quipped.
With so many talented individuals in the human race, two Paramounts appearing in succession was a big deal. And to make matters even more unbelievable, both of them were connected to Tejano in some way.
…
“He reached the Paramount realm?” Lunarstar was buried in research at the virtual headquarters of the Primordial Research Institute when he came across the breaking news. He muttered under his breath, feeling a deep sigh escape his lips.
A useless brother brought me nothing but misery, he grumbled, shaking his head slightly. But he wasn’t surprised by the news, not in the least. Xu Jingming had become a cosmic legend in just 1,800 short years and Lunarstar had always known it was possible. In fact, he was convinced that Xu Jingming was destined to reach high-dimensional lifeform status.
Now, it had finally happened, a little earlier than he anticipated.
But did it really make a difference?
Lunarstar felt invisible to other humans; no one wanted to interact with him.
If I become a cosmic legend, I believe Lord Wu Ming won’t hold it against me. With a newfound determination, Lunarstar settled back into his reading.
…
The transformation of Xu Jingming into a high-dimensional lifeform was a seismic shift that would change the course of human history. The ripple effects of his new form would spread throughout the world as he joined the ranks of the Paramounts, exerting an undeniable influence on the entire species.
There are so many congratulatory messages. As Xu Jingming and Li Miaomiao logged into their virtual world, the flood of messages from well-wishers was overwhelming.
“I’ll throw a small banquet for my closest friends.” Throughout his journey of growth, he had formed deep bonds with individuals like Redeye, Gu Shan, Moyu, Monina, and Senior Brothers Jane, Yijiu, and Sakar, as well as mentors like Master Liu Hai and Uncle Qi.
Li Miaomiao nodded. “Leave the planning to me.”
******
Xu Jingming was busy preparing for a lavish banquet to entertain his closest friends when the dean’s consciousness carrier sprang to life suddenly.
Xu Jingming quickly rushed to the chamber upon sensing it.
“Jingming,” the dean greeted with a warm smile, “we’re all thrilled to hear of your incredible breakthrough. The human race finally has a fifth high-dimensional lifeform.”
“I need you to come to Myriad Star Island,” the dean continued. “I believe that with your Heart Realm lineage’s abilities, you should be able to sense the true bodies of the other four high-dimensional lifeforms. We’ve been mentioning your name quite often.”
“I did.” Xu Jingming nodded.
These four were four high-dimensional human lifeforms.
He had a special bond with the dean and Senior Brother Redmond, and without even being told, he could sense the presence of the four powerful beings in a mysterious location far away.
“You should be able to descend upon us directly from this distance, right?” the dean asked.
“Yes, I should be able to,” Xu Jingming replied. “Even if it’s a bit far, I can use another long-distance teleportation.”
Since breaking through to become a high-dimensional lifeform of the Heart Realm lineage, Xu Jingming had discovered his unique ability to teleport remotely as long as he locked onto a location. The distance he could teleport was directly proportional to his strength, making him far superior to those from the Spacetime lineage, who could only travel in the Mother Stream.
“Alright, come over now,” the dean urged. “We’ll go over the details when you reach Myriad Star Island.”
