Cosmic Professional Gladiator Novel - Chapter 642
642 Sanam’s Request
Xu Jingming examined every single one of the patterned stone pillars with great care, sensing the vast amount of knowledge contained within the different scenes depicting the monster’s figure. For instance, the scene of it consuming a high-dimensional celestial body contained a wealth of information about the Abyss, while the scene of it erupting and engulfing all flames depicted its body as resembling the Primordial Star, containing high-dimensional information from that lineage.
Xu Jingming absorbed and comprehended all of the different types of high-dimensional information. He spent over a day thoroughly studying the 36 patterned stone pillars twice.
So this is it. Standing in front of the patterned stone pillar, Xu Jingming was unaffected by the terrifying heat and repulsive force.
Its strength stems from two sources: the Abyss lineage and the Primordial Star lineage. Through his exposure to and absorption of a large amount of high-dimensional information, Xu Jingming had gained a deep understanding of the behemoth’s evolutionary path.
It used the Devour ability of the Abyss lineage to consume high-dimensional celestial bodies, enemies, and all types of energy, assimilating them into its own body. The reason its body could withstand such powerful energy was that it was in the process of transforming into a Primordial Star.
!!
But no matter how much energy it had, it was still far from enough to complete the transformation into the Primordial Star.
Xu Jingming was amazed by this discovery.
The Abyss and the Primordial Star are two major paths in high-dimensional space, but this monster somehow managed to perfectly combine them. After receiving so much high-dimensional information, Xu Jingming realized that the creature’s path was truly extraordinary.
The Red Lotus Fire was known to have originated from Master of the Abyssal Void, and upon cultivation to its limits, one could be said to be approaching the third realm. However, the monster’s path had allowed it to cultivate its body to an unimaginable level, possibly even rivaling the Red Lotus Fire.
Xu Jingming sensed that this was likely the case.
Such a powerful being had ultimately met its demise. Xu Jingming continued walking forward, undeterred by the 36 patterned stone pillars.
In front of him stood a towering palace, with two high-dimensional fruit trees at its entrance.
These fruit trees were 1.8 light-years tall, each with a single black fruit on it. A huge snake was coiled around the trunk of each one.
Buzz! Buzz!
Two snakes wrapped around a tree trunk opened their cold, narrowed eyes and fixed them on Xu Jingming.
“What a powerful aura,” Xu Jingming remarked in awe.
“Those who covet the fruits deserve death,” one of the snakes spoke in a hoarse voice. Xu Jingming could sense its intentions from its odd voice.
Whoosh.
Suddenly, the other snake burst onto the scene.
Its body was so long that it could wrap around a tree trunk and was believed to be over one light-year in length. When it burst out, the area around Xu Jingming was completely frozen.
The enormous snake’s body swept toward him.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
As the snake moved its body, Xu Jingming exclaimed in surprise. Nine had mentioned that the strength of a cosmic spirit is inferior to that of a true cosmic legend, but this snake is strong enough to suppress ordinary cosmic legends.
A body over one light-year long was larger than any celestial body in the universe, and it would be difficult for cosmic legends to resist even a single sweep. However, the phantom-like Xu Jingming was unharmed.
Huh? The other snake—which had been wrapped around the high-dimensional fruit tree—also raised its upper body and stared at Xu Jingming seriously.
I can’t touch him. The attacking snake raised itself as well and became extremely solemn.
Hu! Hu!
As the two serpents opened their jaws in unison, a blast of icy air spewed forth. This frigid aura swept through the entire area, even impacting more than half of the ornately carved stone pillars.
But this cold energy couldn’t harm Xu Jingming in the slightest.
“You can’t affect a body formed by Heart Realm Force.” Xu Jingming chuckled, continuing on his way.
Although these snakes were powerful enough to overpower most cosmic legends, Xu Jingming was no ordinary cosmic legend. Having grasped third-realm high-dimensional powers, their attacks meant nothing to him.
With ease, he strode through the icy air and reached the palace in two steps, stepping inside with ease.
The two snakes stared at each other in confusion.
“I’ll entertain this young friend. You two snakes can return to your slumber,” a voice called out from within the palace.
“Yes, Lord Emissary,” the snakes replied, bowing their heads in respect before coiling around the fruit tree and becoming still.
…
Xu Jingming stepped into the palace, which stood a towering three light-years tall. The entire palace spanned a massive area larger than the solar system.
As he walked in, he was confronted with a sitting behemoth.
“Hello,” the behemoth said gently, smiling at Xu Jingming.
But Xu Jingming’s expression turned serious as he felt a sense of threat for the first time since he had mastered the Heart Realm Force.
How can a cosmic spirit be this strong? Xu Jingming thought to himself. I’m not sure if I can defeat it even if I try my best.
But Xu Jingming didn’t have to worry about his own life because this was just his clone.
Xu Jingming studied the behemoth in front of him.
The creature was around 1.5 light-years tall, though it looked shorter while sitting there. Its body was covered in thick white fur, and its eyes seemed tired.
“Don’t be nervous,” the behemoth said. “I don’t want to harm you.”
Xu Jingming stared at the behemoth, confused. “Are you a cosmic spirit?”
The behemoth smiled. “My master has 3,000 Emissaries, and I am one of them. You could say I’m a cosmic spirit. Do you wonder why a cosmic spirit like me is so strong?”
Xu Jingming nodded.
The three humans at the Paramount realm had told him that cosmic spirits couldn’t be stronger than ordinary cosmic legends.
“The strength of a cosmic spirit depends on their inner universe,” the behemoth explained. “My master’s inner universe has consumed several real universes and even more high-dimensional celestial bodies. Thus, the cosmic spirits born in that inner universe are extraordinary. For example, the two snakes outside the palace are cosmic spirits born in the inner universe.”
Xu Jingming was shocked by this. Consumed real universes?
“The 3,000 Emissaries are pretty special,” the giant said. “We used to be low-dimensional lifeforms, but our Master saw value in us. He gave us a drop of his blood and made us his spawn, transferring us to the inner universe and turning us into 3,000 cosmic spirits.”
“Becoming a spawn before becoming a cosmic spirit?” Xu Jingming asked, confused.
“Our Master’s path is unique. His internal universe is massive, and he needs strong cosmic spirits to keep it all together,” the giant explained with a smile. “Once we became Master’s spawn, we could borrow his strength and become comparable to high-dimensional Firstborn lifeforms. As cosmic spirits, we reached the peak of high-dimensional Firstborn lifeforms and even had the ability to be revived in the internal universe after death.”
Xu Jingming was stunned. The peak of a high-dimensional Firstborn realm lifeform? Revivable after death?
“Even a high-dimensional Eternal lifeform would have a tough time fighting against a group of us,” the giant said with a grin. “But that’s all in the past now.
“Master is gone, so we can’t borrow his strength anymore.” The behemoth said, “And the inner universe has shattered, so we don’t have a power source anymore. It’s hard for this weak auxiliary universe to keep me alive.”
“In another half an Abyssal Era, this auxiliary universe will probably collapse, and I’ll really die,” the giant said with a smile. “However, at least I get to see the birth of a new high-dimensional lifeform before I go.”
“The birth of a high-dimensional lifeform?” Xu Jingming looked at the other party.
“You are very young—no more than 2,000 years old,” the behemoth said. “It won’t be surprising if you become a high-dimensional lifeform.”
Xu Jingming looked at him, realizing that this Emissary had been very kind and friendly since they met as if he had a request.
“I do need your help with something,” the behemoth began.
“Please speak.” Xu Jingming looked at him.
“My name is Sanam, and I am one of the countless lifeforms protected by my master, Monhado Xiong E. It was a high-dimensional being who roamed the universe and made many friends, but it had seen too many fights among other high-dimensional lifeforms.
“Master didn’t care for those wicked souls. It preferred those who were kind and orderly.
“Master protected the vulnerable and desired for countless beings to live in harmony. I am one of those countless beings that Master protected. My strength became so great that it reached the level of a cosmic legend! When I was near death, Master chose me and gave me a drop of its blood, making me one of its spawn.
“I was later selected to become one of the 3,000 cosmic spirits. From that moment on, as long as Master didn’t die, I became immortal.”
The behemoth reminisced. “I followed Master and upheld the order it established, fighting against enemies from higher dimensions.
“The years I spent with it were so long and beautiful.
“Master was benevolent and guarded the weak.
“In fact, many universes even exist because of Master,” Sanam said, reflecting on the past. “But Master ultimately died because it was too kind. If it had been a little more selfish, it would’ve been impossible for it to die, given its strength.
“It protected so many friends and subordinates, but it still died in the end.” Sanam gazed at Xu Jingming. “I would’ve gladly given my life in exchange for Master’s.”
“Master’s name was Monhado Xiong E,” Sanam told Xu Jingming. “Please remember its name and try your best to spread it throughout high-dimensional space. That is my only request.”
“I may die in half an Abyssal Era,” Sanam said. “But I hope… I hope that Master can return from death. This is also the shared hope of countless beings in the Monhado Territory.”
Xu Jingming whispered, “Spread his name—Monhado Xiong E?”
“As long as more high-dimensional beings know his name, it will be enough,” Sanam said. “I am willing to give you everything I have accumulated over the years from following Master. I just need your help.”
Sanam extended its hand, and a mirror flew out of its palm toward Xu Jingming.
“All of my wealth is hidden within this mirror,” Sanam said. “Please accept it.”
