Chapter 112 The Outburst
Hearing Gu Qiang’s words, Fu Ling felt she suddenly understood something. But after a second thought, the only thing left in her mind was still the obsession she always had – as long as she performed well, she could get anything she wanted, including the position of her master’s wife. This was every woman’s goal in the Yaomeng Pavilion.
“What do you know? If Master didn’t pick you, do you really believe I would be willing to be your maid?” Fu Ling said after thinking for a few seconds.
Gu Qiang sneered. Even though this woman was somewhat competent, that was only in martial arts. If all that man wanted was to prove violence was more powerful than intelligence, Gu Qiang would show him that he was wrong.
“You don’t want to be my maid? Then get lost!” Gu Qiang then yelled toward the living room, “Ting Feng, Chui Xue, drive Fu Ling away from our mansion.”
Hearing their master’s words, Ting Feng and Chui Xue immediately dropped everything at hand and rushed inside with a hoe. They cultivated herbs and flowers in the yard but never got the chance to use the hoe. They didn’t expect the hoe would be put into use on such an occasion, which was a bit embarrassing but also ridiculous.
Ting Feng, who was taller, stood in front of Chui Xue, pointed the hoe at Fu Ling, and said, “Get lost right now, or we will beat you till you leave. Make your choice!”
Fu Ling stared at these two weak women and snorted, “Look at you. You want to drive me out like this? I didn’t mean to harm you, but since you’ve asked for it, I won’t go easy on you!”
Fu Ling suddenly rushed up, pulled out a blade from her back, and held it in front of her chest. The gleam of the blade flashed into Gu Qiang’s eyes, and she subconsciously reached out to cover her eyes.
Although Ting Feng and Chui Xue were two of the most experienced maids in the mansion, they rarely saw fights with real weapons. Seeing Fu Ling’s blade, they started to get flustered.
Noticing their nervousness, Fu Ling chuckled, “You apparently know what you are. Let’s start.”
Then Fu Ling rushed toward the two maids whose faces were already pale, holding the blade in front. She couldn’t freely move in the small bedroom, and in a blink, she swept all the furniture on the ground. In the terrifying noise, Gu Qiang sat on the bed and held everything given by Shen Qianshan in her arms. Before, Fu Ling still tried to keep up with her naive and kind image, but after she saw Gu Qiang’s staff, she revealed her true colors at once.
After making sure her book was well protected, Gu Qiang lifted a chair lying next to her and smashed it at Fu Ling’s back.
Gu Qiang used all her strength in this hit, which was not expected by Fu Ling at all. She thought a weak girl like Gu Qiang wouldn’t dare to stealth attack her and only focused on the two maids in front of her.
Feeling the pain from her back, Fu Ling fell on the ground with her face looking down. She covered her back, tried to struggle up, but was pressed down by Gu Qiang with the same chair.
Gu Qiang was surprisingly strong. Fu Ling struggled for a while but couldn’t get up, and then she wielded the blade back toward Gu Qiang.
The sharp weapon almost touched Gu Qiang, but she didn’t step back at all.
“Get off from me, you crazy woman! I’ll stab you!” in anger, Fu Ling lost her mind and yelled at Gu Qiang while waving her limbs like an octopus pressed on a cutting board.
Gu Qiang chuckled as Ting Feng and Chui Xue froze on their spots, holding the hoe in their hand. Their master, a weak lady, totally defeated the woman who claimed she was powerful in martial arts, which shocked them. If their master was so strong, what’s the use of them? All they could do was just watching her while standing still.
“What are you waiting for? Find a rope and tie her up, or we can just kill her. This woman is outrageous. We should teach her a good lesson.” Gu Qiang pressed Fu Ling on the ground harder.
Fu Ling was still trying to struggle, but after seeing the stern look on Gu Qiang’s face, she realized it was not a joke.
“Come on, what are you doing? I was just kidding with you. Can’t you see? Can you please let me go? I swear I will protect you.” Fu Ling’s eyes even turned red in fear, and she pretended to act very obediently all of a sudden. Gu Qiang stared at her silently as if she was watching an animal in the zoo. Did this woman really think she would believe her? So naive!
“I don’t need your protection. I’m telling you right now that I can protect myself well. It’s even less safe for me with you around.”
“Aren’t you afraid that my master will take your life if you kill me?” Fu Ling sensed Gu Qiang’s murderous intention and became more nervous. She couldn’t die like this because she hadn’t finished anything yet. If she couldn’t get her job done, her master would probably kill her too.
“Even if I don’t kill you, do you think your master will just let me go?” While talking, Gu Qiang put more strength on the chair. Before Fu Ling had time to react, she suddenly lifted the chair and smashed it on her head. Fu Ling rolled her eyes and passed out without even making a sound.
Her movement was so smooth that Ting Feng and Chui Xue were totally stunned. Why could their master always surprise them?
“Can you tie her up now?” Gu Qiang threw the chair on Fu Ling’s body and patted her hand with a calm look on her face as if she just did a thing that couldn’t be more normal. She didn’t care about it at all.
Ting Feng and Chui Xue rushed up and tied Fu Ling up tightly like wrapping a rice dumpling.
After cleaning up the room, they threw Fu Ling in the back storage room.
After Ting Feng returned, she walked up to Gu Qiang and acted hesitantly as if she tried to say something but didn’t dare to.
Gu Qiang turned her head and said, “Just say it if you have any questions. I’m less comfortable seeing you acting like this.”
Then Ting Feng hurriedly asked, “My lady, I just want to ask why you brought Fu Ling here while knowing she’s not a kind one? Were you trying to offer her another chance?”
“No. I just wanted to escape from a place called the Yaomeng Pavilion. If I didn’t bring her with me, they wouldn’t let me leave,” Gu Qiang said in a flat tone.
After hearing her words, Ting Feng left her room soon since she had already got the answer she wanted. Knowing the lady could protect herself well was a big relief for her. All she needed to do was to fully support her.
It was a beautiful night as everything was bathed in pure moonlight. Gu Qiang’s room door was shut close. It was quiet inside, and only the crackling sound made by an oil lamp could be heard.
She took out the notebook from her chest pocket. According to Shen Qianshan, all of her secrets were recorded in the notebook. She opened it and saw many things written down messily as if the writer was in a hurry. While reading, a cold shiver was sent down her spine – if everything in the notebook was true, the burden on her felt even heavier. She asked that man called Shen Qianshan to help herself keep this notebook before she lost her memories, which meant he was indeed someone important to her.
But if the old her knew he was with another woman right now, would she be disappointed?
She closed the notebook, her eyes feeling a bit uncomfortable, but she could still bear with it.
Suddenly, Ting Feng rushed inside with a long face, “Ye and Gu Zhihua are here. Do you want me to tell them that you already fell asleep, my lady?”
Gu Qiang shook her head. Before she had time to say anything, the noise had already come over from the living room, particularly annoying on this quiet night.
Gu Qiang frowned, feeling annoyed, but she still got up from her bed and walked to the living room.
Her yard was not big. All of a sudden, these people seemed to fill every inch of space here.
Seeing Gu Qiang walking out, Ye hurriedly stood up and put down an exquisite box on the table. She said to Gu Qiang beamingly, “Qiang, I heard you have recovered? I’m so happy for you. There have been many things that happened in our family, and we do need to hear some good news.” Then Ye opened the box and showed her the herb inside wrapped by a piece of red cloth. Gu Qiang had no idea what it was. Although Gu Huaian had been interested in medicine, she never liked it.
Gu Qiang’s eyes met Ye’s, and she gave Ye a smile.
Ye and Gu Zhihua looked at each other, feeling a bit nervous. Qu Qiang lost her memories, but she was not retarded. They were not sure if she could recognize the herb. This time, the herb they brought her was called Frosty Lotus. If it was mixed with the drug that made Gu Qiang lose her memories, it would cause disfunction of her internal organs. They spent a lot of effort, consulted some famous physicians, and then came up with this place. But the problem was, Gu Qiang never ate any food or medicine given by Ye. Last time they had to violently feed her the drug.
Gu Qiang closed the box and smiled at Ye, “Thank you, Mother. It is pretty late now. I’m surprised that you brought a young man to my yard at such a late time without even considering I could be sleeping. Who is this man?”
The strange man had a plain appearance and didn’t look like a good-hearted one. He seemed young but exuded an aura of bad temper. Gu Qiang didn’t recall or feel anything when seeing him.
“This is your younger brother, the young master of our family, Gu Huaihuai,” Ye explained in a soft voice, not irritated by her seemingly rude question. She played her role of a good mother well this time.
“Why do you bring him here? You should know it’s inappropriate for a young man to enter a lady’s yard this late,” said Gu Qiang while drinking her tea.
All these people in her tiny living room were in silence. The atmosphere was quite intense, but Gu Qiang acted like usual, as calm as a still lake.
The calmer she was, the more confident she looked, which irritated Ye a lot. Whether it was before or after losing her memories, Gu Qiang had always been annoying for Ye.
Ye initially planned to use this opportunity of Gu Qiang’s amnesia to get along with her so that they could use her later. However, Gu Qiang didn’t even seem any different than before.
“So, why did you bring him over?” Gu Qiang asked her again.
Ye didn’t want to tell Gu Qiang her intention so soon, but she didn’t have any other choice now.
“Huaihuai didn’t pass the exam this time. As the Prime Minister’s son, if Huaihuai didn’t have a proper job, it would be too shameful for our family.” Ye lowered her head and chuckled in embarrassment while holding her hands.
Gu Qiang understood Ye’s intention immediately but didn’t utter a word.
