Cinderella Innocent and Boss Charming - Chapter 366
Chapter 366 This Intimate
When he returned home, Gu Nianbin returned to how he used to be. He had a cold face all day and did not talk much to Du Xiaoxian. But he would return home on time every day. When he was home, he would sit in the living room and read the newspaper. When Gu Niannian called him, he would respond curtly. Sometimes, he would talk to her, then head upstairs and stay there until it was time to eat.
The Gu family saw this and felt very anxious. There was no progress between these two at all. When could they hold a wedding?
Du Xiaoxian also felt very uneasy. When they were on the mountain, they could get along pretty well. Why was Gu Nianbin rejecting her again once they returned home?
She was hurt by his indifference and secretly shed tears several times. When Gu Niannian saw it, she ran to Fang Yaru and complained that her father was bullying her mother. In her opinion, her mother was very strong. But ever since her father appeared, her mother always cried, which made her feel very uncomfortable.
Fang Yaru sighed helplessly. She had persuaded Gu Nianbin countless times, but Gu Nianbin was stubborn and would not change his mind. Fang Yaru felt really helpless.
When Gu Nianbin woke up, he found that the weather outside was pretty good. He wanted to go outside for a walk.
When he went downstairs, the living room was silent. He was a little puzzled. Ever since Gu Niannian came, it was the first time the house was so quiet. He was unused to this. After a while, he remembered that Fang Yaru and Gu Shanshan had taken Gu Niannian out.
He walked to the door languidly and stared blankly at the statue of the woman below the balcony. The statue had her eyes lowered. She was looking at the jar in her hand. Her gentle face gave people the feeling of peace. The water flowed out from the mouth of the jar, and thin water mist sprayed out. It was crystal clear under the sunlight.
He remembered that when Du Xiaoxian first came, she was too embarrassed to look at it, but she slowly fell in love with it later on. She always sat amidst the bushes under the tree and looked at the statue in silence.
There were not many leaves on the ground, and they were all scattered. It could be seen that they had just been swept. Gu Nianbin looked around, but there was no sign of Du Xiaoxian.
He went down the steps and walked around the lawn. The autumn sun was cool. One would not feel hot. Gu Nianbin walked slowly and narrowed his eyes to look at the clouds in the sky. The clouds were moving very fast, rushing across the light blue sky. He thought that it was going to rain.
Hence, he went back into the house and went to the kitchen to get some drinks.
He didn’t expect Du Xiaoxian to be in the kitchen, so he was slightly stunned when he saw her there. However, Du Xiaoxian called out to him timidly as she looked at him with her clear eyes, “Gu Nianbin.”
She no longer called him ‘Young Master’, and he was too lazy to correct her. He ignored her, poured himself a glass of water, and then turned to leave.
“Gu Nianbin,” she called out again.
Gu Nianbin stopped and turned around to look at her. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I…” Du Xiaoxian carefully checked his expression.
He interrupted her. “Then why did you call me when there’s nothing wrong?” He was ready to leave.
“Actually, there’s something,” Du Xiaoxian said anxiously.
“What is it?” He frowned, looking a little impatient.
“I want to talk to you.” Du Xiaoxian wiped her hands and slowly walked over.
“What do you want to talk about?”
“Can we not act like this?” Du Xiaoxian gathered her courage and said, “This isn’t good for Niannian.”
Gu Nianbin took a sip of water and asked her, “What do you want?”
“Can we…” Du Xiaoxian blushed. “Be… Be more intimate?”
He smiled and casually placed the cup on the table. Then he took a step toward her. He was almost touching her. “This intimate?”
Du Xiaoxian’s heart skipped a beat. She instinctively retreated but was stopped by the man’s strong hand. “What are you afraid of? Isn’t this what you want?”
They were pressed against each other. He lowered his head and smiled. His smile seemed especially seductive. Du Xiaoxian felt her mind go blank. Blood rushed to her head, and she stammered, “W-What are you doing?”
“Doing what you want!” The man chuckled and lowered his head slowly.
Du Xiaoxian lifted her head slightly and quickly shut her eyes. She was so nervous that her heart almost leaped out of her chest.
She waited for a long time and could clearly feel the warmth of his face, but his burning lips refused to fall.
She slowly opened her eyes. His face was right in front of her, but there was a teasing smile in his eyes. She felt she was a fish being roasted on a fire. It was just unbearable. Her body trembled slightly. She obviously wanted to struggle away from him, but she also wanted to get closer. Her mind was blank. She did not know what she wanted to do at all.
“Do you like it or not?” His voice was low, and his hot breath wafted all over her face.
Du Xiaoxian did not dare to open her mouth because she was afraid that she would burst into tears. For some reason, she felt like crying.
“Hmm?” His lips seemed to have unintentionally brushed across her face. His voice was raspy but slightly heightened in pitch, bringing with it an irresistible temptation that caused her to tremble.
The sound of footsteps suddenly rang out from outside the door. Du Xiaoxian pretended not to hear it and just looked at Gu Nianbin dumbly.
Gu Nianbin raised his arms, hugged her, and turned around until they were hiding behind the door.
Her back was against the wall. His tall and muscular body was pressed firmly against her. His intense and hot breath enveloped her. She felt like she was about to be cooked by the heat. Her back was covered in sweat. She felt weak and dizzy. As she listened to the approaching footsteps, her legs finally gave way and she fell into Gu Nianbin’s arms.
Gu Nianbin’s face suddenly darkened. When the footsteps passed, he immediately distanced himself from her. Du Xiaoxian lost her balance and staggered to the floor.
Gu Nianbin clearly saw it, but he walked away indifferently.
On the other hand, Gu Shanshan, who had just walked past the door, heard the sound and turned around to look. When she saw Du Xiaoxian lying on the floor with a flushed face and her forehead covered in sweat, Gu Shanshan was shocked. She quickly went over to help Du Xiaoxian sit up. “What’s wrong, Xiaoxian? Are you sick?”
Du Xiaoxian’s throat was so dry that she could not speak. She just shook her head.
Gu Shanshan became even more anxious. Just as she was about to call out, she looked up and saw Gu Nianbin walking over. She hurriedly said, “Brother, Xiaoxian is not feeling well. Call the doctor.”
Gu Nianbin casually swept a glance at Du Xiaoxian and coldly said, “Why should we call a doctor? She won’t die.”
“Why are you like this?” Gu Shanshan glared at him. “She’s Niannian’s mother!”
Hearing the noise, Xiao Bonian and Ah Ling rushed over. They were shocked to see Du Xiaoxian on the floor. Xiao Bonian asked Ah Ling to call the doctor.
Du Xiaoxian took two deep breaths and felt better. She quickly stopped Ah Ling. “Sister Ah Ling, don’t call the doctor. I’m fine. I’ll be better after some rest,” she said as she stood up with some help from Gu Shanshan.
“Xiaoxian, why don’t we get a doctor to have a check on you?” Gu Shanshan looked at her worriedly. “Why did you faint for no reason?”
“I’m really fine,” Du Xiaoxian looked embarrassed. How was she going to explain that it was because of Gu Nianbin? She looked up and secretly glanced at him. The culprit stood there as if nothing had happened. He looked like he was watching a play.
Du Xiaoxian gritted her teeth. For the first time, she felt that Gu Nianbin could be hateful.
Gu Shanshan saw that Du Xiaoxian’s complexion was slowly getting better, and there was nothing else wrong, so she dragged Du Xiaoxian into the hall to sit. Gu Nianbin followed far behind. When they turned a corner, Du Xiaoxian looked back at him. The corners of his lips were slightly curved, looking like a slight smile.
Gu Niannian was showing Gu Guangxian a new toy in the living room. Seeing Du Xiaoxian coming in from the side door, she ran over with the big doll in her hand. “Mom, look. Grandma bought it for me!”
In fact, Gu Niannian already had a lot of dolls, but every time she got a new one, it was like her first time getting one. She was always so excited.
Du Xiaoxian took it and looked at it, saying, “It’s really beautiful, but don’t you already have a lot of dolls? Niannian, don’t ask Grandma to buy any more for you in the future, okay?”
“I didn’t ask Grandma to buy it,” Gu Niannian argued, “Grandma insisted on buying it for me.”
Fang Yaru smiled and said, “A doll is nothing. As long as Niannian is happy, it’s fine. It’s not something expensive anyway.”
Du Xiaoxian was used to being thrifty and did not like wastage or excessiveness. However, she could not say anything else after Fang Yaru spoke. She lowered her head and helped Gu Guangxian pour a glass of water.
Gu Shanshan pulled her to sit on the sofa. “Xiaoxian, you’re not feeling well. Sit down and rest for a while. The servants will do those things.”
Hearing that she was not feeling well, the two elders of the Gu family looked at her with concern. Gu Guangxian said, “Xiaoxian, if you’re not feeling well, why don’t we call a doctor to check on you?”
Gu Niannian reached out to touch her mother’s forehead like a little adult. “Mom, do you have a fever again?”
Du Xiaoxian lifted Gu Niannian to her lap and answered Gu Guangxian with a smile, “I’m really fine. There’s no need for the trouble.”
“Xiaoxian, you have to tell me if you’re unwell. Don’t try to bear it by yourself.” Knowing that Du Xiaoxian would endure suffering on her own, Fang Yaru reminded her once again.
“I think she must be pissed off with Brother!” Gu Shanshan complained about Gu Nianbin in front of her parents because she was still angry about what had happened just now.
Gu Guangxian’s face darkened. He raised his cane, looking like he was about to swing it at Gu Nianbin. However, he was stopped by Xiao Bonian. “Old Master, don’t be angry. Young Master has a sharp tongue but a soft heart. His words are unpleasant, but he’s been here the entire time. I think he’s quite worried.”
Gu Guangxian snorted angrily. “I think he won’t stop until he pisses me off!”
Of course, Gu Niannian was on her mother’s side. When she heard that her father was not nice to her mother, she did not want to stay with him anymore. She pulled Du Xiaoxian upstairs and said, “Mom, let’s go to my room. I’ll show you the new clothes Auntie bought for me.”
Du Xiaoxian felt a little uncomfortable being surrounded by everyone, so she quickly followed Gu Niannian upstairs.
Gu Nianbin knew that once Du Xiaoxian and her daughter left, his parents would definitely nag him. Hence, he slipped out to smoke.
The two elders of the Gu family and Gu Shanshan were left sitting there silently. They were speechless.
Gu Shanshan said, “Dad, Mom, Brother and Xiaoxian can’t go on like this. They’re going to break up sooner or later.”
“You’re right,” Fang Yaru said, “Niannian has complained to me. She says that Xiaoxian has secretly cried quite a few times already. One of them is stubborn and has a bad temper, while the other is weak and won’t take the initiative. We can’t do anything about this. I feel so anxious.”
“That’s right. Brother doesn’t talk much to Xiaoxian now. Xiaoxian is timid. It’s like she’s facing a tiger whenever she sees him. They don’t interact at all. How are they going to develop feelings for each other?”
Gu Guangxian pondered for a moment and said, “How about this? Let’s leave the house and leave all three of them here. We’ll bring all the servants with us as well and let them live together for some time. Let’s see if it’ll work.”
“This is a good idea.” Gu Shanshan’s eyes lit up as she smiled at Gu Guangxian. “You’re so scheming, Dad.”
“He’s scheming? Watch your language.” Fang Yaru glanced at her daughter sternly, and then she became melancholic again. “I can’t bear to leave Niannian here!”
“Me neither. I miss her so much whenever I don’t see her for a day.” Gu Guangxian sighed and said, “I’m afraid that Nianbin will bully Xiaoxian. When there’s a child with them, he might behave better. Niannian is smart and sensible. She’s the best person to bridge them together.”
“Alright, it’s settled, then,” Fang Yaru decided.
