Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 90
Chapter 90: I’m Not Afraid
Eloise’s POV:
When I got closer, I saw the scene I expected.
They cornered a human. His arms were shaking, and his face was full of fear.
He saw me, but he pretended not to see me at all.
Maybe he didn’t want me to be discovered by the vampires. But it was too late. A few vampires turned toward me and revealed their fangs.
“You should leave this to me.” I heard a voice in my head.
“You’ve never dealt with this kind of thing like a real werewolf. ”
I sighed and slowly gave control of my body to my wolf. I saw my vision gradually lower to the ground as I roared at the vampires. It was the roar of a wolf, and I felt like my chest lacked oxygen.
I couldn’t let them continue to harm humans. So I suddenly pounced at them.
The night was at its peak. During this time, vampires were more powerful than werewolves. I saw the vampire before me spread his bat-like wings and fly into the sky. The next second, he opened his mouth and charged at me.
The silver bullet grazed my ear. The vampire closest to me wailed. The other vampires abandoned him under the barrage of bullets and fled in a panic.
A thin figure was standing behind me. It was Soren’s younger brother , Bishop. The silver pistol in his hand was still smoking. He looked at me and quickly put it away.
“Oh, I was worried you would be afraid of it,” he said sincerely. “After all, aren’t you all…”
“I’m different.” I returned to my human form and shook my head.
“Yes,” he replied and then lowered his head. However , this time, he looked different from the last time. His eyes had a beast-like glow.
A few people ran from behind him. They stepped forward to check on the injuries of the unconscious man and dragged him into the car. He didn’t seem to be in a good state, but at least he was still alive.
‘Why did you come here?” I looked at Bishop in surprise.
He didn’t say much and just passed the phone to me.
“1 realized that someone here does have a special relationship with these vampires, so I thought of you.” Soren’s voice was heard from the phone.
“How’s the situation on your side?” I was looking at Bishop while I was talking. His courage and strength were truly worthy of respect.
“Alright, I have to say, it’s awful.” Soren sighed.
I could still hear the noise on the other side, even though he should be in some secluded corner by now.
Page was definitely following him around. I knew that even if he didn’t tell me. I felt a little guilty about this, but he didn’t seem to care about it. He just told me what happened over there.
Lisa showed up at the party to celebrate Page’s return, a rare sight. She even greeted Hugo, just like what we saw before.
This was really strange. This time, even Soren could feel it.
Atticus was also there, but he only appeared for about ten minutes before disappearing. Although I didn’t want to care about him, I felt inexplicably at ease when I heard this.
This must be the effect of the mate connection. I took a deep breath and tried to expel this thought from my mind.
“Is it possible, I say, that they might be the real couple?” My wolf was screaming.
“This does explain what’s happening right now, but if that’s the case, it’s scary.” I quickly denied that thought.
But in fact, I had such concerns. If they were together , why was she doing what she was doing before?
After all, it looked like she had acquiesced to Atticus’ liking for her.
“Let’s not talk about this first. I want to ask you for a favor,” Soren said. “1 hope you can protect our family from the vampires.”
“Even if you didn’t tell me, I would’ve done it,” I quickly answered him.
I had to drag the person who colluded with the vampires out of this family so my life won’t be affected.
