Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 85
Chapter 85: I Don’t Want Anything Related To Him
Eloise’s POV:
The employees quickly rushed over to us.
They first apologized to us, then checked the decorations. It seemed that every single one of them was extremely sturdy.
Except for the mirror.
“That’s strange. The joint here has been weakened by something,” one of them said in surprise. Then, he turned to me.
“It was supposed to be a piece of solid steel, but someone sawed it off.”
“This isn’t a good sign.” My wolf sighed.
Atticus was approaching me. He seemed to want me to lean on his shoulder because he was reaching out with his hand. However, I didn’t want to do that. Showing my weakness was unnecessary, so I waved dismissively at him.
“I’m going to check the surveillance cameras,” I said as I looked at him.
He had also noticed this because he was looking at the camera on the wall.
We quickly went to the monitor room downstairs. After understanding why we were there, the staff member quickly opened the door and provided us with a video recording of a certain time frame.
At first, everything was normal, until a few hours later, the part behind the mirror was completely broken by something. That was why the vibration from our feet would trigger the mirror to fall when we passed by.
We saw a small wing in the surveillance. Unfortunately, it was not the kind of wings with feathers that looked fluffy and cute, but the bare ones, which meant that it might be the wings of a bat.
I already knew the answer.
“This is their revenge. This is normal, but I will not let them off so easily. That is not my style of doing things.” Atticus looked at me.
“0f course, you’re the best at taking revenge,” I said with a bitter smile.
I couldn’t forget what he had done to me back then. It seemed that he had also thought of this, so he stopped talking. Before he could speak, I left.
Moon Goddess, I shouldn’t have answered him. I only hope that I wouldn’t see him at work tomorrow. I closed the door and tried to calm myself down. The following day, everything went smoothly until I heard a sound from behind me.
“Look, who’s here!” Hanna lowered her voice and shook the back of my chair. I raised my head and saw the car downstairs.
Atticus? What was he doing here?
Whatever it was, his sister was here now, so his appearance made sense. I was forced to listen to their meeting. They did say that they wanted to cooperate with our department and had set up a special competition to train related talents.
This was not surprising at all.
I sat in my seat and drank my coffee, pretending I didn’t know this person and wasn’t curious about it.
However, the truth was that I couldn’t shift my attention away from it. I still turned my head around whenever they mentioned it out of curiosity.
“He must have done it to please someone. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have any reason to come here, right?” I heard my colleagues say.
“1 heard that Page came from that pack?”
‘Yes, of course, I am. And he’s my brother,” Page quickly replied.
“He must have done it for me.”
However, I felt this might only be the case on the surface. At the very least, it provided a reason for him to be here. Apart from that, he could also be dealing with the vampires with the Cotton family.
This was a very regular practice. However, the others were not aware of this. They were still looking at the Page with envy.
However, even though I ignored them, she looked at me. Then, she leaned over again.
“I hope you won’t misunderstand that he’s doing this for your good. As far as I know, Lisa is in contact with Atticus?” Page blinked and spoke nonchalantly. Hadn’t they always been together? Oh, that was not right. It might not be based on what happened that day.
But why did she think of bringing this up to me now?
I only felt that she was still as dumb as before. No wonder Atticus didn’t like her.
“I don’t know what you are trying to say to me. However, if you’re trying to show off your family background, I don’t think this will help you at work.” I looked at her with a smile and told her slowly. ‘ISO, have you finished the work I gave you?
I saw her expression change..
