Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 83
Chapter 83: A Broken Heart
Soren’s POV:
When I found her in Bishop, she was drinking like crazy in a bar.
“To be honest, I can understand why she’s so sad. Anyone who’s been hurt by the person they like would act this way.” That was what Bishop told me over the phone. However, he sounded a little frightened.
“But I can’t get close to her. I can’t even use the bodyguards you lent me.”
I had no choice but to drive to the address he gave me.
I received a text message from Eloise before I arranged everything. There, she briefly explained the current situation and hoped I could get her some help.
She wanted me to help her find Chloe, and she thought that Chloe should be in one of the bars near her apartment.
First, I contacted the vampire hunters as quickly as possible. Although they did not have a good relationship with the werewolves, they still went there as soon as they learned that vampires were hurting humans.
I did arrange for a female bodyguard to help Bishop find Chloe, but it sounded like the bodyguard didn’t have a good relationship with Chloe.
She would push away the bodyguards close to her and say, “Eloise, you should go back. You shouldn’t be here.” It seemed that she had mistaken the female bodyguard for Eloise.
By the time I arrived, the situation had already become even worse.
She was already a little tired and was even talking nonsense. We had to help her home. She screamed and said she didn’t want Eloise to see her in this state because Eloise’s life was already bad enough.
She looked like she was utterly heartbroken.
Soon, Eloise arrived as well. Her eyes were a little red as if she had just cried. I wasn’t sure who hurt her, but she looked so heartbroken.
“How is she now?” She was panting heavily , and it looked like she had run a long distance.
“She just said that she doesn’t want to see you.” I could only tell Eloise this. “She even pushed away the girl with the same hairstyle as you.”
“0f course, I know that. That’s why I rushed over after dealing with Atticus.” Eloise walked to the bedroom and hugged Chloe helplessly.
“1 didn’t want her to be upset because she was stuck with me, so I could only inform you.
“After all, she’s our employee. So we won’t neglect her again,” I looked at her and replied seriously.
‘Yes, of course, I know that. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have felt good letting you take care of her,” Eloise said with a bitter smile.
“She’s my best friend.”
She was different from before. It seemed like she would never trust anyone again. This was all because of the life she had with Atticus.
She should not get close to him anymore.
“1’m thinking that perhaps you should move out of that hotel, ” I told her seriously.
‘You’ve already encountered many things that didn’t go your way.”
This made her sad. I didn’t want her to live like this. Be it as a member of her family or as just a friend.
“No, I don’t think it’s necessary,” she retorted.
“1 don’t care about anything related to him anymore. This will cost something, but I don’t think spending that money is necessary.”
Even though she sounded firm, I was sure her body language was strange when she mentioned Atticus. I didn’t know where this feeling came from, but she didn’t seem to be in a very good state. It was completely different from what she claimed.
“1’11 stay here.”
She looked like she was doing something in a fit of pique. It was just that I couldn’t remind her of it.
Perhaps Atticus had done something to her. Otherwise, she wouldn’t act like this.
“Alright, we need to go now. We’ll be downstairs if you need us… ”
I hoped she would ask for my help if there was a need. At least she didn’t have to do everything by herself.
“I understand.” She nodded. Only now did I feel that her expression had softened. However, I could still see the sadness in her eyes.
“Thank you, but I want to be more independent.. ”
