Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 81
Chapter 81: That Woman Who Shouldn’t Be There
Atticus’ POV:
“What did you just say?” I almost couldn’t believe my ears.
“Yes, that’s what I know now.” Jude was very calm.
“Lisa appeared at the banquet held by the Cotton family, and she seemed very familiar with the family.”
It seemed that he had known about this for quite some time. He had only told me after he had sorted out the information.
So, who told him this?
Someone appeared in my mind, but I didn’t think she would be so kind. I shook my head and tried to dismiss this from my mind.
I couldn’t believe Lisa would do such a thing. However, I believed that Jude would not lie to me.
Jude told me about Lisa’s appearance at the human family gathering. This was very abnormal. Although I knew she had been recovering well recently…
I never knew whom she had such a good relationship with.
This was strange.
I suddenly realized that she seemed different from the poor and kind girl I knew. Of course, she had her life, and I should be happy about that. But I didn’t understand why I couldn’t feel happy for her.
“I don’t think she’s that simple. But, it’s not just that,” my wolf added.
I agreed with its view, but Moon Goddess, what was wrong? I believed there was a problem, but I couldn’t find it. This troubled me, but I could only choose to ignore it temporarily.
I was worried that someone would have a bad influence on her. After all, she was someone who had little contact with the outside world because of her illness.
“But there’s one more thing…” Jude sounded hesitant.
“WThat’s wrong?” I asked subconsciously.
“At this moment, all abnormal situations must be carefully monitored, so I will always pay attention to her. But Atticus, I think you’re worrying too much about her. ”
How could it be considered overly worried? After all, Lisa had saved my life.
I didn’t reply, and the computer was silent for a long time. I only heard the sound of typing. It seemed that someone had entered the room and then left.
I felt nervous for some reason.
“Who is next to you?
“1t’s Sir and Madam, Alpha. I think they might have already begun to doubt your story. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have come here. So perhaps I should stop communicating with you for the time being. It’ll be slightly safer that way,” he quickly replied.
“Of course, I don’t want to have any contact with them, at least for now.” I agreed with his opinion. I couldn’t let those two know that I was here.
‘Then, I’ll leave everything that happens in the pack to you.” I hung up.
As long as I stayed here, I’d be absolutely free. This was a real vacation.
I had been looking forward to this moment, but for some reason, I was hesitating.
I stretched my back and got up from the computer. This might be a rare moment of leisure time for me. Only then did I feel a little hungry.
I’d been in contact with Jude since I woke up but didn’t have time to eat anything.
I opened the door and was about to look for a restaurant. But, to my surprise, Eloise was standing outside my door.
She looked at me in surprise and almost dropped her luggage.
Why was she here? Could it be that she was here for me? I shouldn’t feel any positive feelings for this woman.
However, she only looked at me in confusion before returning to normal. The hotel staff quickly picked up her bag and apologized to me.
However , he had also said that she was a new resident here.
What? Could she afford to live here? Oh, right. She was no longer that simple woman. She was one of the heirs of that family.
My chest felt a little tight. I thought of what my father and mother had told me.
Moon Goddess!
“If you don’t mind, I want to return to my room.” She pointed to the door next to her, her expression as cold as it could be.
It looked as if she didn’t know that I lived here.
“Of course.” It was only then that I noticed that she was staying in the suite opposite me, closest to the jewelry display at the end of the corridor.
Those shiny gemstones were her favorite. So I wasn’t surprised at all as she walked toward those things.
This made me even more uncomfortable than before.
“As expected, you are bothered by her ignoring you and not paying attention to you.” My wolf almost laughed. I wanted to refute it, but I could not say anvthine..
