Chapter 80: The Person Who Shouldn’t Be There
Eloise’s POV:
After seeing Atticus yesterday, I’d been thinking about this. Why was Atticus here?
But now, it didn’t matter anymore. The vampires would be dealt with by the Cotton family or by Atticus. It was none of my business, anyway.
Due to the vampires’ appearance, I had to move back to the Cotton family’s residence. This meant that I’d be meeting everyone in that family in advance. This was very difficult to deal with.
It was obvious that none of the people here had ever seen a werewolf. So when they saw me, they were all very surprised. But I didn’t think it was a bad thing. At least, they were still friendly.
However, there was a boy who seemed to be avoiding me.
In other words, it wasn’t a boy. He just looked very young. Just from his appearance, he looked very outstanding. However, he had been avoiding the people here as if he had some secret to hide.
“That’s Hugo. He’s adopted but he lived in the werewolfs territory for a long time before that. I think he met us before, but we’ve never seen him before, ” Soren said with a frown as he stood beside me. I didn’t know when he appeared, but he made me feel at ease.
“In short, he’s not easy to get along with. Perhaps you’ve heard of the recent rumor that many people suspect he has a werewolf girlfriend, but there’s no way to ask him about it.”
Soren shook his head and waved at Bishop, who had helped us crack the code.
I didn’t feel lonely at all. Even if they both had things to do for me, they couldn’t take care of me all the time.
Someone walked past me. I looked at her face in surprise, almost unable to make a sound.
It was Lisa!
This was not normal. Why was she here? Had she recovered? I thought of countless possibilities, but the sweet smile on her face disappeared when she saw me.
She walked up to me and sized me up. Then, a warm smile bloomed on her face.
“My dear sister, I didn’t expect you to be here.” She looked very surprised.
It was obvious that she didn’t know why I was there. I noticed someone beside her who wanted to remind her but quickly retracted his hand.
That was the boy who avoided me just now, Hugo.
I quickly found an excuse to leave and sent a message to Jude. He replied to me almost immediately. I looked around before picking up his call.
“1s he not by your side now?
‘Yes, Atticus hasn’t been in pack recently. He has work to do and needs to leave.’
Perhaps this was just an excuse for Atticus. But as Beta, I think he was very competent.
I opened the door to my room and entered as fast as possible. What he was going to say next could not be heard by others.
“Alright, that’s exactly what I want. I wanted to tell you something. I saw Lisa at the Cotton family’s gathering today. It was very strange. ”
“She was in the hospital for a long time, so she probably didn’t know you would appear. Otherwise, I think she would have avoided you.”
It was obvious that Jude was thinking.
“If her body allows it, she can go on a trip. Perhaps she was invited to the party… But I don’t understand why she was invited.”
I agreed with that.
Unless she was someone significant to the family, but that didn’t make sense. She had never had human friends before.
“But I’ll find a way to tell Atticus about this. It’s really strange. I’ll try to hide the source of this information. Thank you very much, Eloise.” He quickly hung up the phone.
I slumped into the chair as if I had lost all my strength.
It was not easy to live in such a house. I’d known this for a long time. I’d still move out after the situation had stabilized.
Perhaps staying in a hotel for now would be better..
