Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 75
Chapter 75: Your Story
Eloise’s POV:
“Oh, of course. Our company’s performance last year was great. Furthermore, we welcome you with open arms.” Hanna walked over and handed a cup of coffee to Page.
She looked very relaxed.
“Thank you very much.” Page took the coffee cup and naturally leaned on my desk. I could see that many people seemed to be fascinated by her.
This seemed expected. After all, she had a perfect appearance, just like her brother.
“Do you want to take a look at your workplace? There’s someone here who can take you there.” Hanna waved at the people next to her. Soon, a few men came over like passionate golden hounds.
She seemed to want to say something more, but she couldn’t say anything under such a passionate approach and could only watch as Page was taken away. Seeing this, I heaved a sigh of relief. When she wasn’t around, I felt more relaxed.
“You both seemed awkward. Guess I’ll send her away first.” Hanna took a sip of the coffee in her hand.
“Did something happen between you before? Then, perhaps I can help you think of a solution. I mean, we’re more familiar with each other, right?”
I looked at her gratefully. I didn’t expect her to notice this.
“Yes, but it’S a very complicated story.”
I took a deep breath and told her the story between Page and me as briefly as possible. Her eyes widened in disbelief. She took a few minutes to absorb what she had just said and let out a long sigh.
“1 see. So, she has taken her mother’s surname. I had no idea that she came from that pack.” She pointed at Pages badge. It was not ‘Hil’, which was Atticus• surname. It was another surname, Black.
That was her biological mother’s last name, so I knew. However, when I first met her, that wasn’t her surname.
When she was around Atticus, she always looked proud and pitiful. As an Alpha’s daughter, she acted proudly in front of people like Chloe and me. With Atticus, she was very friendly.
However, Atticus had never liked her.
Alright, this didn’t change the fact that Atticus was a terrible person. Even though, back then, I thought that his behavior was proof of his wisdom.
“But wait a minute, you guys are… ? Right, I should have known. I’ve heard some rumors, but I didn’t think it was you.” She looked like she was about to choke.
This was my deepest secret, and I didn’t want her to know. I knew of her personality. It was very likely that she would tell others. However, I didn’t have a better way to deal with it now.
‘Yes, that’s right. That’s it. I had no choice but to leave the werewolf territory for this reason.” I sighed.
“0f course, I like my job here. This made me feel the meaning of my existence.”
She patted my shoulder worriedly.
“But if you put it that way, I think we should all pay more attention to her. After all, she has such a way of thinking.” In the end, Hanna sighed.
“1’m more worried that she plagiarizes. I only hope that she won’t do such a thing here. After all, that would affect our work.”
She had brought up the part that I was most worried about. After all, Page was so eager to prove that she was better than me. She had been like this a long time ago.
It was hard to guarantee that she wouldn’t do something like that again.
I initially believed she still had the pride of an Alpha’s daughter, but after that incident, these thoughts quickly disappeared like white smoke in a chimney.
“But I still want to know why she gave up so many things to come here. It doesn’t make sense no matter how you explain it.” I frowned and looked at Page chatting with her colleagues.
“I feel that it is very complicated.” Hanna stretched.
“But I think it might be the same reason you had? After all, you left all you had in your native pack”
‘I left more than just my home.’ I thought to myself.
After all, her relationship with Atticus was still tolerable on the surface, but Lisa and I had a broken relationship..
