Chapter 74: A Misunderstanding
Eloise’s POV:
I only came here to check if something was going on between Alvin and the other woman. Now it seemed as if I was stalking Atticus.
I looked up. It was only then that I noticed that the shop was his favorite dessert shop. So it was expected for him to be here.
When I first met him, he was still studying. I would try my best to come to these shops to buy food for him. But unfortunately, I was all too familiar with this.
I only saw this shop from the corner of my eye and found it familiar, so I turned in. Of course, I didn’t expect to meet him here.
And to think that he could recognize me now. After all, I was wearing a pair of huge-framed glasses and a completely different style of clothes.
“You look very mysterious. I don’t know what you are trying to do.” Atticus sized me up.
“But I don’t think you’re up to any good.”
While I was talking to Atticus, I took a few photos. They were all selfies, and Atticus was not in them. Only the two figures in the background.
“I’m just working. Just like this. I’m working.” When I said this, I sounded unsure. However, he didn’t say anything and made way for me. “I hope you will continue to work hard, ” Atticus said strangely.
As he said that, I walked away from him.
I thought he must think of me as an unreasonable lunatic.
However, I didn’t mind this. I was more concerned about Chloe’s love life. When I got home, she was already asleep. So I didn’t wake her up. After all, I still didn’t know how to break this to her.
The next day, my vacation ended. I returned to the office. When I walked through the door, my supervisor stopped me.
‘There will be an intern coming in today. I need you guys to guide her,” she told
I nodded and greeted Hanna before continuing with my work.
However, the moment I saw the new intern, I fell silent.
I recognized this person, and we were even familiar with each other for some time.
‘ISO, you’re the new intern?
Why her?
“0f course. Eloise. I think you should recognize me.” Page tidied up her hair and smiled at me.
I tried my best to suppress my conflicted emotions and let a warm smile bloom on my face.
We were colleagues now, so our relationship should be better. I should not have this terrible attitude.
“When did you return?” I tried my best to smile.
‘Just a few days ago. I tried to send my resume to you, but I didn’t expect it to go through. After all, this is the best gaming company in the area. So how could I miss it?” She looked pleased.
However, I saw a hint of slyness in her eyes.
That was right. She studied the same major as me for some reason. How could I forget this?
I didn’t expect our reunion to be this soon.
Strictly speaking, she wasn’t Atticus’ biological sister but half-sister. She had been studying abroad for a long time, so she didn’t have a good relationship with Atticus.
Even in my residence, I rarely saw her, even less so for Atticus.
More importantly, compared to these trivial matters, she used to like Soren so fanatically.
When I was on very good terms with Soren, she treated me as a thorn in her flesh. This was the reason she had gone abroad to study. Back then, their Alpha could no longer accept her madness.
But now, it seemed she didn’t care about these. She even came to this company for an internship.
“I guess, welcome then,” I said as sincerely as I could.
But I could feel a storm brewing..
