Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 71
Chapter 71: Maybe It’s Different From What You Know
Atticus’ POV:
I looked at Eloise and felt extremely angry.
I initially wanted to go and see her. I knew that she would want to go to a place that was the furthest away from the city we were in. Perhaps she’d be even calmer when she was on vacation, but I didn’t expect her to give me such a shock.
I’d never imagined her to be too bad. But this time, I was really disappointed.
At the very least, she should not have done such a thing.
A few years ago, I was in a very serious car accident. I almost died. A girl sent me to the hospital, and I was lucky enough to survive. After that, I’d been looking for her for a few years, but I’d never heard from her.
It wasn’t until I met Lisa at a party one day and saw the tattoo on her arm that I was sure it was her. This light-colored tattoo was extraordinary. It had been in my mind for so long, but I could recognize her immediately when the owner appeared.
Eloise was obviously trying to confuse me. She wanted to pretend to be the person who saved my life and win my sympathy.
But unfortunately, I’d exposed her plot.
I could never forgive this kind of thing.
After leaving the beach, I quickly contacted my Beta and told him I wanted to cancel the rejection ceremony. Of course, I didn’t intend to tell him the reason, but under his constant questioning, I had no choice but tell him.
Then, after a few seconds, he answered me. “If that’s what you’re talking about, you can take a closer look. Tattoos and birthmarks have some differences.”
“Perhaps you’ve carefully compared the differences on their arms? I can send you the signs to look out for.”
“Are you trying to say that Lisa is the one with the birthmark?” I said impatiently.
“You don’t have to be so vague.”
“Because they’re sisters, no matter who got a tattoo, they have a reasonable reason. So you don’t have to be so worried, but I think you should know the truth more than this,” he explained calmly.
However, that was a few years ago, and there was no point in finding the truth now. Moreover, back then, everyone was sure that Lisa was the one who saved
That shouldn’t make any difference.
“What are you trying to say?” But as an Alpha, I needed to know the truth.
“1 found some new clues. Perhaps what happened back then wasn’t how Lisa explained it, ” Jude answered hesitantly.
“Even if everyone is certain, that could still be wrong. However , this still needs to be verified.”
I understood now. This was why he said that. However, I would not believe him unless he could give me a good reason. I would only think that he was helping Eloise.
He went to investigate the death of Eloise’s parents. I wanted to clear my name, so I’d been investigating it. Today, it seemed like there was finally some progress.
“There was a special control device in the car, and the radio receiver was found in the pack,” he explained simply.
“1’ve found evidence for all of this, but I haven’t been able to match it to the right user yet.”
If it was within the pack, the most likely candidates were the other heirs competing for the position. The most probable candidate was Lisa’s father. I was very sure of that.
No matter what, he had to be the most appropriate suspect before the results were out.
“However, it’s irresponsible of us to suspect them with such little information. It might even worsen the relationship between the two packs,” I quickly replied.
‘More importantly, we found something similar when you were in the accident,” he added.
This meant that this incident was related to their pack.
But could this be related to Lisa? I didnrt think so. I didn’t think I’d ever want these things to hurt her.
“Alright, I want all the results of your investigation the day after tomorrow. You better give me a definite answer,” I said.
“And I hope the result will be objective enough .”
