Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 70
Chapter 70: I Won’t Let You Have Your Way
Eloise’s POV:
At this moment, I didn’t know how to reply to Atticus. However, I knew it wouldn’t end up well if I told the truth now.
He would never believe it.
But no matter what, his attitude had decided that I wouldn’t let him have a good time today. Of course, I didn’t want to argue with him, but his tone annoyed me.
“This has nothing to do with you.” I put on a bath towel. But he poked at it hard and refused to let me put it on. It was like I was being dragged away.
“Explain it clearly.” He lowered his voice. However, it was clear that he had to be wary of the crowd not far away. They were already staring at us.
“Does this have anything to do with you? Whether it’s a tattoo or a birthmark, that is my privacy.” I didn’t want to answer his question.
His expression seemed to worsen.
But I didn’t want to explain this to him at all. I had this growing on my body, but in his head, it was as if I had done something wrong.
“0f course, it’s your privacy, but what’s your purpose?” He grabbed my arm again, and it really hurt.
I frowned at him and tried to free my arm from his grasp, but it was no avail.
“1 already had this thing.” I used the calmest tone I could to reply to him.
But he didn’t believe this.
“No, you know what this means. You want to take over your sister’s position, don’t you?
‘What did you just say?” Now it was my turn to be surprised. Why would I want to replace her? Didn’t they like each other?
“Let me make myself clear. I found her because of this birthmark after she saved my life. So you can’t think I’ll mistakenly think that you saved me just because of this, right?”
I finally understood what he was talking about, and it also solved my doubts for many years. I’d wondered why he thought Lisa was so good even though she was just an unruly person.
However, the truth was not what he just said.
On the day Atticus got into the accident, I happened to pass by that place. So when I saw the fire on the mountain, I rushed over.
I saw him being pressed under the car. So, I walked over, pulled him out of there and waited for the rescue team to appear. But back then, I wore sunglasses to avoid trouble, so almost no one could recognize me.
After that incident, I didn’t care about it anymore. After all, I didn’t expect to get anything by helping him. I only felt that I did what I should have done.
The only thing I could remember about Lisa that day was her constant asking about what I was doing, and then she disappeared for a few days. When she came back, she was wearing clothes that could cover her arms.
However, I didn’t expect her to have the same pattern as my birthmark tattooed during that period.
I didn’t understand why she did that. I only thought it was her way to show that we were family. But now, I understood why she did that.
She had been eyeing Atticus from the very beginning.
But whatever. This had nothing to do with me anymore. The biggest impact was that I ended up becoming someone who seemed like she would use all means to get close to Atticus. However, this could be clarified by my birthmark.
Seeing that I didn’t answer, he laughed without warning and let go.
“You know what? Even my parents are urging me to marry you after knowing your identity.” His expression became even more contemplative.
I didn’t know why he said that, so I tried to prod.
“Do you want to marry me now.
“No, not only will I not marry you, I won’t cut off this connection immediately.” He looked as if I had done something to hurt him.
“I will give you what you want..”
