Eloise’s POV:
“You’re finally awake.”
I opened my eyes and looked at Jude, sitting beside me.
Yes, I should have known. I shouldn’t have had any illusions about this. I sighed and tried to sit up. But the intense pain made me lie down again.
“This hurts so much.” Finally, I had no choice but to look at the ceiling.
This made me realize that I no longer existed in any of the rooms I was familiar with. This was likely the manor where they had said they would exile me.
“Your body hasn’t recovered yet. You should rest well.” His voice was gentle, but it was emotionless.
I almost couldn’t say anything. I opened my mouth but could only cough a few times with difficulty. I felt like my bones had been disassembled and then reassembled.
If it weren’t for the pleasant scent that appeared before I fainted, I would not have been able to hold on until now. Thinking about it, I felt my face become hot.
‘You care a lot about that person.’ The unfamiliar female voice rang in my mind again.
“No, this has nothing to do with you,” I shouted hoarsely.
“VVhat are you saying?” Jude looked at me in surprise. He quickly noticed my strange behavior.
“Do you need a doctor?”
“Yes, I do.” I closed my eyes in pain.
“There’s a voice in my head. I think I’m sick.
What I didn’t understand was why Jude seemed to be relieved. He just looked at me and handed me another glass of water.
“It’s not like that. You’ve awakened your wolf,” he said hesitantly.
“Please don’t tell anyone about this.”
I looked at him in shock.
He must be joking. How could I have a wolf? I was the descendant of a human and a werewolf. This identity meant I would never have a wolf, let alone transform into my wolf form.
But now it seemed that there was an accident.
“Alpha believes it is unsuitable for you to appear in his residence in your current situation,” Jude explained.
“This situation is too special. You should know how much trouble it will bring.”
Of course, I knew that. But compared to that, I was more inclined to believe that Atticus didn’t want to face the trouble I might cause.
He just hated me that much. Unless Lisa needed blood, he would never come to me.
After Jude left, I finally had the chance to see the message on my phone. One of my works had qualified to enter the exhibition that would be held in a week. As long as I could win an award in the exhibition, my life would be settled. I could hire my lawyer and escape from this pack.
I couldn’t wait for that moment.
‘He’s not a bad person, but he’s not a good person either.’ The female voice rang out in my mind again.
I was already able to adapt to its existence now. If it were my wolf, it would be the only thing I could rely on in the future.
“So you’re my wolf, right? I heard that after the wolf awakens in a werewolf, they will meet their mate. Do you know where mine is?” I calmly looked at the reflection of my face in the window. ‘Of course, and you’ve already met him. But I don’t think you want to see each other now.’ My wolf gave a very strange smile.
“VVhy would I not? This sounds very strange.” I rubbed the needle marks on the back of my hand.
No matter what, I would not have that kind of resistance to my mate. This came from my instinct as a werewolf.
My wolf refused to answer me, so I could only lie down and continue to rest. The pain was the only thing I could feel right now, and soon my vision started to blur.
I thought of Atticus again. Perhaps he was having afternoon tea with Lisa somewhere, but that had nothing to do with me.
There was a knock on the door. I pressed the bell to signal him to come in.
“This is what you asked for.” The maidservant placed the box by my desk and quickly left.
This was my only request before I moved here. I was sure that Atticus would send my things over to get me here. Now it seemed that he had indeed fulfilled his promise to me.
“So, I can start… “I mumbled as I turned on the computer.
But to my surprise, the documents that were initially on the table were all gone.
“What’s going on?” I flipped through the folder in surprise.
Even though I’d already submitted the most important works to the competition, it still made me very angry.
These designs were like my children..
