Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 69
Chapter 69: An Unexpected Visitor
Eloise’s POV:
“I think I should put on some sunscreen. The sun will burn my arm,” I muttered as I applied sunscreen cream on myself.
The sound of a child playing with a ball not far away caught my attention. I smiled at him and continued to immerse myself in my world.
Nothing was more comfortable than having a beach vacation, especially when one’s mood was at its lowest.
There was still a month before I regained my freedom, but I had nothing to do until then. For this reason, the company also gave me a two-week leave after I finished work. I sunbathed and drank cold juice.
I was already looking forward to my new life and believed it would be an excellent start. I would continue to work in this position. I swore I would draw the game scenes and characters that would be remembered forever.
At that moment, my wolf let out a low cry.
“This kind of life is perfect.” I greeted my wolf.
“You think so too, don’t you?”
“No, I didn’t make a sound to tell you that. I wanted to say… ” Before my wolf was done speaking, I heard footsteps approaching me, followed by a very familiar scent.
I held my breath. I was so familiar with this scent that I wanted to run away.
“What are you looking at?” A voice that I didn’t expect and hated said in my mind. But, to be precise, it wasn’t in my mind but behind my head.
I turned around and saw Atticus in his swimsuit.
He had a very good figure, and his honey colored skin seemed to glow under the sun. I almost couldn’t look away. Of course, the other people not far away thought the same, but their expressions were very explicit to me.
This made me feel a little irritated.
I tried my best to shake my head. This was too embarrassing. I was also possessive of him, which was a very bad thing in itself.
I widened my eyes and tightened the towel around my shoulders.
“Are you afraid that I’ll do something? If that’s the case, you’re overthinking.” He sneered.
“Or are you… ”
“I feel that your appearance here makes me feel very cold. It’s foreboding,” I quickly replied.
I didn’t want to know why he was here. I only wanted him to disappear from my sight as soon as possible, but it seemed impossible now. It was obvious that he was also here on vacation.
“If you’re asking why he’s here, Eloise, this is the beach furthest away from the city you live in. I think he was probably thinking the same thing,” my wolf said.
“But I don’t think it’s a good idea to ask him about this now.”
I swallowed my words, but wait a minute! A sea lion was rushing toward him.
“Be careful!” I quickly grabbed his arm and forced him to turn back to avoid the huge animal from ramming into him. Although it wouldn’t cause much damage to a werewolf, at least it would prevent him from crashing into other people and causing a larger scale of danger.
But no matter what, we were too close.
Atticus was staring at my arm. This was very rude. I wanted him to push it away, but he grabbed it.
Wait a minute!
I suddenly realized that I was wearing a swimsuit. And he happened to be able to see the birthmark on my arm.
I knew all too well what this meant, so I tried so hard to cover it up. I wanted to escape, but he grabbed my arm. I struggled desperately, but it was useless before an Alpha like him.
“Why do you have this?” It was obvious that he was angry.
“Why do you have this tattoo? Don’t you plan on explaining it to me?”
