Chapter 68: Happy Breakup

Atticus’ POV:

“Why are you here?” Eloise didn’t answer my question. Instead, she simply scanned me vigilantly.

For a moment, I didn’t know how to answer her. That was right. Why was I here? I didn’t even know why.

I was passing by their company when I thought she should still be there, so I walked straight over. However, this was not a reason at all. It was only an excuse.

Even in the most serious of negotiations, I had never lost my confidence like this.

“Alright, but of course, I’m willing to have a good chat with you about this matter. We only have to go somewhere else.” She didn’t seem to want to continue talking about this.

I saw her colleagues not far away. They were already looking in our direction. After all, she was my ex-wife in name, so it was still surprising.

Of course, I had something to discuss with her.

After my father found out about Eloise’s identity yesterday, he urged me to find Eloise and remarry her. Of course, I didn’t want to do that, so my only choice was to cut off my mate connection with Eloise as soon as possible.

The ceremony to sever a werewolf mate connection was very formal, even more complicated than a divorce. We had to recite the marital vow together and change the ending.

The process was extremely painful. It would be as if the soul was about to be torn apart, so it had to be held at the hospital. After that, we would be admitted into the ICU. Regardless, we had finalized all the details this afternoon. It would be held in a month.

I felt that this was finally coming to an end.

I felt extremely relaxed when I left the Cotton Corporation headquarters because everything was no longer pressing down on me like a rock.

“You’re okay with that?” My wolf suddenly spoke.

“What? Of course! I can’t feel any better now.” After all, I’d already solved the biggest problem.

“But you look very sad.’

“Then, it must be because there’s too much work to do,” I quickly replied.

“Alright, I hope that’s what you really think.”

Then, my wolf stopped talking.

“You’re acting like I should feel guilty.” I couldn’t help but ridicule it.

Of course, I helped her deal with some gossipmongers, but that was because she was still in contact with me. However, these things would soon have nothing to do with me.

I raised my head and looked at the building. My mood was completely different from before. When I realized that a portion of the property here belonged to Eloise, I suddenly felt that her image in my heart had changed.

However, wait a moment, I suddenly realized a problem. The relationship between Soren and Eloise was not what I thought.

Before this, I had always thought there was some special relationship between them, but it was not like that. They were more like brother and sister than lovers.

So they knew about this from the start?

Before, I kept thinking that they had an affair.

“Do you regret it?” My wolf asked.
