Chapter 61: I Don’t Want To See Her

Eloise’s POV:

Lisa greeted me sincerely and happily. But now, I only felt that her expression was incomparably fake.

In fact, she didn’t look like she was in good condition. Her face was still ashen, and she needed people to support her.

But no matter what, she was here. So I only felt a little sad.

I didn’t want to see her anywhere else.

“Hello,” she said. I tried my best to smile naturally. But at the same time, I didn’t forget that she wanted my bone marrow just a few days ago.

“My necklace is missing, and you were just by my side. So it’s reasonable for me to suspect you… “She looked helpless and seemed like she would fall again at anytime.

“Yes, and look, she doesn’t seem like she can afford these things.”

The people who were talking non-stop were all Lisa’s friends. I knew them.

They were just like her, speaking in a tone that seemed to be full of grievances.

But why did they think I stole her necklace? Simply because I was standing next to her?

Soren stood by my side and stopped her.

“Ma’am, this needs to be investigated carefully. You can’t just slander others. Before we find any evidence, everyone will be detained here.” Soren looked at her and announced gently.

“The Cotton family will give you a satisfactory result.” Lisa looked at him in disbelief.

I suddenly remembered that Lisa did not know Soren.

She didn’t care about anyone other than Atticus. She could not even recognize Soren when he passed by. She must be very surprised now as to why someone from the Cotton family would want to help me.

“You still have some conflict with her, right?” Soren whispered to me as we walked to the side.
