Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 59
Chapter 59: A Fair Deal
Eloise’s POV:
It sounded like there was no sound from the other side, which made me feel very pleased.
‘Atticus must be angry. He can’t accept this.’ So, at the very least, I wouldn’t be hearing anything from Atticus for the next few days.
This might be the only thing I was satisfied with these few days.
I felt a little helpless with him continuing to bug me like this. Could it be that he didn’t know what had happened to me, so he was behaving like this? He was the Alpha, after all, and he must have a better understanding of human relationships than I did, so he was doing this on purpose.
I felt breathless and almost cried out. Why was he still unwilling to let me go even now? I didn’t think I’d done anything against our marriage.
But at least he was in the same unhappy state as I was. From this perspective, what I did was worth it. It was because he could feel my emotions.
“But I’ll still help you make this call. I’ve already informed Jude. Wait at the café. He’ll send someone over to look for you soon,” I quickly answered him and hung up before he could speak.
After sending the message to Jude, I closed the chat window. I didn’t want to see anyone related to Atticus’ pack.
Although what I was doing now made him sad, how could he not hurt my heart?
He drew my blood and made me look like I was almost dead. Then, he told me that I had asked for this.
Of course, I brought this upon myself. I shouldn’t have liked him. But, I’d already learned my lesson.
When I saw him, I attributed his blushing face and heartbeat to the natural reaction of fertility, just like how my heart would accelerate on a roller coaster.
I tried my best to separate my feelings from his. As long as I pass the test, I’d be cut off from him. I couldn’t wait any longer.
I continued to browse the web. Compared to these, I wanted to find a restaurant and have my favorite food, then forget about this matter completely.
I saw information about Atticus’ pack in the recommended blog posts of various shops.
The amusement park was still under construction and looked like it would be completed soon. So now, if Lisa wanted to go out to have fun, she would not need to go so far.
Of course, when she came out of the hospital, perhaps all of this would be done and dusted.
I was still envious of his perfect life. ‘Unlike me, I have nothing.’
“Don’t lose hope.” My wolf consoled me.
“Of course, I won’t give up.” I sighed and quickly refreshed the page.
I’d persisted in surviving until now. Wasn’t it all for living well?
A message from Soren suddenly popped up. Although I didn’t intend to reply immediately, I noticed that. So I opened the conversation window and found it was just a greeting.
Normally, I didn’t believe he was the kind of person who would only send a ‘hello’ to others out of boredom.
Did he have something to say to me but didn’t dare to? I didn’t understand what could make him so cautious.
“Is there anything else you want to tell me? You can tell me now.” I looked at Soren’s profile picture warily.
“This might sound a little strange to you, but please don’t be in a hurry to reject me. Mr. And Mrs. Cotton hope you can attend the family dinner that will be held in the next few days… “He sounded a little embarrassed.
I wanted to reject them because I had nothing to do with their family in my previous life. It would only make me feel uneasy if I were to join them.
However, I only felt a little scared after he told me about this in advance.
I was very curious as to what made them so anxious to invite me to join. That sounded too much like a conspiracy.
“I think it’s better to tell you these things in person.” He sent an apologetic emoji.
“I’ll tell you about this officially tomorrow..”
