Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 57
Chapter 57: I Have To Leave
Atticus’ POV:
“Don’t you want to say anything more about this?” my wolf asked curiously.
“What else can I say?” I started laughing instead.
“Will my defense still be effective in the face of such a fact?”
Should I be angry? I had no idea.
But because I’d already broken up with her, I was not in a position to do anything about this. I was still very shocked. How did these two get together? Could it be that what she said about liking me before was all fake?
I didn’t want to believe this, but it was probably the truth now.
That was the snack I brought back from my business trip just for her.
But of course, I had no use for it now.
I knew that the Cotton family adopted Soren. In fact, Eloise had not seen him for many years. I knew that. They probably wouldn’t even have the chance to contact each other for a year.
When did their relationship become so good?
If they ended up together…
I almost didn’t dare to imagine that.
My phone lit up. It was my father. He was still urging me to find a new Luna and hold the wedding as soon as possible.
I didn’t know why, but my pack wasn’t being threatened at all. So there was no need for a marriage alliance. I could only blame it on his strange ideas, but I didn’t want to care about them.
However, he was getting more and more annoying. I had to leave, or else I might go crazy.
“If they ask, just say I’m on a business trip.” I quickly sent a message to Jude.
“I don’t need you to follow me. I can do it myself.”
But I was not really going on a business trip. I was going to a place further away to relax. After I received his confirmation, I boarded the plane with peace of mind.
When I got off the plane, I suddenly realized that I seemed to be alone. I didn’t even have any luggage with me. The only thing I brought with me was that box of candy.
I opened it and threw a piece of candy into my mouth. I didn’t know where I should go, but I always felt happy when there was no news from my father.
“As long as you switch off your phone, they will never be able to find you.” My wolf sneered.
“I’ve never seen such a willful Alpha like you.”
“But this isn’t willfulness. It’s just because…” I suddenly stopped.
It was only because I’d also encountered a situation no one else had ever experienced.
Although I was now in the Alpha’s position, this pack was not under my direct control. My father still had great power.
This meant that I was just Alpha in the name unless I could find a way to remove all his authority.
But I didn’t have the eneAlphao care about this now. Since he wanted it, then I’d give it to him.
Eloise and I had been to a similar place before. Eloise liked to look at these buildings, while Lisa liked to travel. It was one of the rare times I brought the two of them out together.
She was standing there while I pushed Lisa’s wheelchair. I didn’t know what expression she had on her face. I only knew that Lisa was breathing hard due to the high temperature.
Now that I thought about it, I felt like I was a lunatic.
“You were too cruel back then, weren’t you?” My wolf sounded like it was mocking me.
“I’m happy you’ve finally realized this, even though it’s already too late.”
“You’ve been trying to make me feel guilty, but this might end up falling into her trap.” I tried to convince it.
“She’s smarter than you think. Trust me.”
“Just take it as this.” My wolf stopped talking.
Before I could answer it, my phone fell from my hand and into the fountain with a splash.
“Oh, Moon Goddess!” I couldn’t believe my eyes.
By the time I fished it out, the water had completely damaged it. Its interface was stuck on the communication interface. I tried to turn it off, but it wouldn’t budge.
And it had even made a call..
