Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 56
Chapter 56: Not An Accident
Eloise’s POV:
“These things have nothing to do with you. If I remember correctly, we’re already divorced.”
Seeing Atticus standing here made me even angrier.
The box he was holding couldn’t be more obvious. He had either just gotten off work or was on his way to deliver something to Lisa.
So, what gave him the courage to continue to care about me? This was incomprehensible.
“Yes, we’re already divorced. But… “He looked furious but still maintained his composure as an Alpha.
He looked like a volcano that was about to erupt. I was already prepared to quarrel with him. However, he turned around and left almost immediately.
However, I could tell from his body language that he wasn’t in a much better mood than I was.
I didn’t care about that. Our relationship couldn’t be worse anyway.
I was more concerned about Soren than that. He seemed to have something to say to me since just now. I was really curious.
“I noticed that you were about to say something. You can tell me now. Atticus has left.” I turned around and looked at him thoughtfully.
He seemed to hesitate, but soon, he pulled me into a coffee shop.
He must have something important to say. I was still looking forward to this.
We sat there facing each other.
I suddenly felt slightly nervous when I heard the rain outside the window. Looking at the stack of documents in his hand, I had an ominous feeling in my heart.
My intuition told me that it might not be what I wanted to see and might bring about terrible results.
“There’s no one else here, so I think I can tell you directly.” He flipped open the document.
“Are these very dangerous?” I sized him up.
“No, we just found some other information. I think I need to tell you this.” Soren seemed very conflicted.
“But since Atticus has appeared, I can’t give it to you,” he replied softly.
“So that’s why you were so embarrassed just now.” I seemed to have suddenly understood something.
“You don’t want him to know about this.”
This truth must be related to Atticus. Otherwise, he could have told me in front of Atticus. This was because all of these were related to his favorite person, Lisa.
But I started to feel a little sad when I thought of this. So I quickly read the document in his hand.
It was an accident report that had been sealed for many years. Nevertheless, I kept looking through the pictures and found some familiar content.
At that time, a car crashed into the car my parents were in. The car had a very obvious family emblem on it. This belonged to the Atticus family, and it belonged to someone with high status and power.
Due to the fact that this had happened so long ago, I thought I didn’t care about it anymore. However, I still felt sad when I found out the truth.
My parents died in a car accident. I’d known about this for a long time and never really ruled it as a murder.
It was a winding mountain road, and I had always thought it was an accident. So that was why I’d never thought about investigating it.
Of course, I didn’t have the right to do so either. I was just a poor adopted daughter living in the Alpha’s house. No one listened to my command.
It was just that I didn’t expect the car to be from Atticus’ pack. And that was his parents.
I was willing to believe this was an accident, but this photo proved that it was just a beautiful fantasy. The tire tracks did not look like it was an accident.
“Don’t be like this, Eloise. This might not be related to him in that way, but so far, it’s the truth.” Soren tried his best to explain.
I didn’t like him anymore, but I couldn’t accept this either. I felt as if my heart was being torn apart.
I’d never thought that all the pain in my life was related to him..
