Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 51
Chapter 51: What I Want
Lisa’s POV:
I lay on the bed and watched the doctors busy around me.
My parents were not far away. They looked at me through the window, their faces full of worry and a trace of admiration.
I turned to look at the doctor beside me. He looked young and upright, but I needed his help.
“So, can I ask my sister to donate her bone marrow to me now?”
I tried my best to speak to him pitifully.
“This medicine is too painful to take. I can’t take it. If it weren’t for this, I wouldn’t want to trouble my sister…”
I almost couldn’t breathe because of my sobs.
“But you don’t need that much… “I glared at the doctor.
Fortunately, the other doctor was smarter than him and stopped him.
“Don’t worry. We’ll get your sister to come here as soon as possible to donate it to you,” the doctor said with a smile.
“Thank you very much, but I hope to respect her opinion. She’s my sister, after all.” I sighed and acted as if this hurt me.
I knew Eloise went to that mysterious pack, and Atticus was with her this time. However, he never thought of telling me about it.
Although I didn’t think that Atticus still liked her, as long as their mate connection was not broken, this kind of relationship was possible. I couldn’t allow such a mistake to exist.
So, I took a cold shower when I heard the news. Unsurprisingly, my body temperature rose rapidly after a few minutes, and my vision became blurry. When I woke up again, I was lying in this hospital.
That was right. I was the one who planned this illness.
I knew I was sick, but my illness had always been within a controllable range. I wouldn’t risk my life.
Atticus went to look for the medicine. I knew it would be mine, but I wanted to be sure. It would be best if Eloise were injured now, and it would be best if she died. This way, both Atticus and his pack would be mine in the future.
In my dream, I could vaguely feel Atticus’ presence. He’d definitely come. I was very sure of this.
However, I didn’t know when he would come or what he would say when he came. Based on this, I was very glad that he was here now.
“How’s she doing now?” His voice was filled with worry.
“We’ve already done our best to treat her. We’ve used all the means we can. However, these things are not enough.”
I heard the doctor say in my sleep.
“Sir, we still need to…”
Yes, that was right. That was what he said. I hope Eloise would give me more. I almost couldn’t hold back my smile.
“I can’t help her. As long as she doesn’t want to, I can’t help Lisa.” I heard Atticus say that.
“But I will tell Eloise about this.”
Why would he think this way? I almost couldn’t believe his words.
This must be Eloise’s fault. If it weren’t for her, Atticus would have gone along with my wishes.
I desperately persevered until he was completely gone. Only then did I dare to wake up and take a breath. Pretending to be sick was indeed more tiring than being sick.
My mother called me, and I told her everything that happened here.
I didn’t understand why he was still thinking about her. Shouldn’t he care more about me?
“You don’t have to care so much about Eloise. Look, even though she married Atticus, she was still abandoned because of you.’
Now, I felt that what my mother said made sense.
“You’re right. We still have time, but she might not.’
I looked at the screen in deep thought.
To her, her current job was probably the most important thing in her life.
So, why was she so close to losing her job?
I suddenly regretted it. I would’ve been fine if I had asked for her bone marrow or some other organ. There would not be such a problem to deal with now..
