Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 50
Chapter 50: She’s More Important
Eloise’s POV:
“In fact, Eloise. This is somewhat related to you.” Jude looked very hesitant.
“Or rather, it’s related to Lisa.”
The moment I heard that name, I felt everything turn dark.
I didn’t want to have anything to do with Lisa anymore, but reality didn’t seem to grant me my wish.
According to Jude, Lisa’s condition continued to worsen even though the doctors in the pack tried their best to treat her. She was now in the ICU, and the expensive medical equipment sustained her life.
According to her character, it was difficult for such a situation not to occur. Her illness needed the most cultivation of a calm mood.
“This time, he doesn’t need your blood but your bone marrow. But according to them, the amount may… ”
Jude looked at me apologetically.
“I suggest you run, but they’ll catch you. Therefore, I can only leave this to you.”
When I heard the news, I felt pain in my arm. This time, they were going to extract my bone marrow, but I was already very weak. How could I withstand such a degree of injury? I wanted to refuse, but I didn’t have any reason to. Instead, it seemed to have become a reason for me to continue living here.
Oh, Moon Goddess! I would be extremely grateful if someone could save me from this life.
I thought of Atticus again. The drugs in Atticus’ possession might be the turning point in this situation. If it was true, what was recorded in the mystery pack, those drugs could alleviate Lisa’s current condition.
She was sick because she had inherited the special werewolf bloodline from her father. This bloodline might make her stronger, but it could also turn out like this.
And because we had the same bloodline, I could also transfuse blood to her.
Therefore, these medicines, the so-called method to relieve the werewolf s weak state, must still be given to her.
“Where’s the thing that Atticus brought from that the pack? I’ll give them to Lisa. Perhaps this could save her.” I stopped Jude.
“That is the easiest method. I don’t want to give you any more trouble.”
“Didn’t you want to leave Atticus?” Jude looked a little surprised.
“If he left these things to you, you could indeed leave and never see him again.”
“But I can’t take what others like,” I replied cheerfully.
“And I’m sure you guys care more about Lisa. So I’m also saving myself by doing this.”
Jude’s expression worsened.
“Do you think that all of this is for her?”
“That’s indeed the case.” I thought about it and answered seriously.
“I can’t think of any other choice.”
“Trust me. The mate connection is much stronger than you think…” Jude replied hesitantly.
“But okay, I’ll pass on the message to Atticus.”
I didn’t believe what he said. In fact, I didn’t think he believed what he said. If Atticus cared so much about this mate connection, why would he do all these? He had hurt me until I almost died. There was no love at all.
Out of courtesy, I didn’t refute him. Instead, I simply looked at him and smiled.
It wasn’t until he left my ward for some reason that I felt like I could breathe.
I could finally live the life I wanted.
“She can only live, right? Letting her live in the shadow you’ve been through will make you happier than letting her leave now.” My wolf laughed in my mind.
“This is indeed a direction worth considering, ” I answered in surprise.
I wouldn’t let them treat me like that forever. I should fight back.
“Yes, that’s right. You should do that. Running away would not solve the problem.” My wolf sounded relieved.
“And on top of that, you have to live a happier life.”
I looked at Soren again.
He was looking at his phone and seemed to be quite busy. I couldn’t be sure if he wanted to help me or if he was monitoring me.
If they could give me the status of a family member, my future would be foreseeably smooth, at least on the surface.
Whether it was the mate connection or Lisa, I didn’t mind at all..
