Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 42
Chapter 42: I Can Do It To
Eloise’s POV:
“You look very… ” Atticus finally noticed my unusual behavior.
“Did something make you unhappy?”
“Of course I am. Don’t tell me you think that it’s a little…” I couldn’t hold it in anymore.
I could tolerate him needing my help, but not this. I didn’t think I could help him so selflessly.
Especially when I’d already lost so much blood for him.
“You don’t think that I helped her get all these, do you? I didn’t. I promise you as Alpha!”
Thanks to the blessing of the Moon Goddess, he finally understood what I was talking about.
But why should I believe what he said? His current action made all of this look very pale.
He didn’t need to prove himself unless he had a guilty conscience.
“So the only way to get rid of this misunderstanding is for me to clear it up right now. Isn’t that right?” He looked at me.
“If I didn’t have it, you wouldn’t think this way.”
I didn’t know how he understood this, but I felt threatened by what he said.
But since we were still here, I could only try my best to remain calm.
“You came here for this, so you should have it,” I replied.
“But I can’t possibly think you’re doing all this for me.”
He looked very dejected and could only ask me to leave the room. I couldn’t ask for more.
I returned to my room and continued to sort out the photos. I thought that it was enough for us to draw a beautiful scene.
However, this was not enough. We had to make it more exquisite. I sighed and lay down on the bed.
“I wonder how Hanna and the others are doing. Have they left the forest?” I fiddled with the ornaments on the bed.
“Perhaps people from the Cotton Corporation will come to help them if they don’t return successfully,” my wolf said.
“But compared to that, the more important thing now is how you’re going to leave.” “This is indeed very difficult.” I turned around to look at the scenery outside the window.
The longer I stayed here, the higher the probability of me being forgotten.
And this was all because of Atticus.
“It’s my turn to play this time!” It was extremely noisy outside the window. So I went over and saw Atticus playing football with a group of kids.
It seemed that Beta’s medicine was very effective. So seeing that he was completely healthy, I didn’t think there was a need for me to continue staying here with him.
I was very surprised that the children were willing to play with him. Before this, I thought these little guys should hate him, at least.
After all, no child would like cruel people.
I turned away before he saw me. I didn’t want to have anything to do with him anymore.
But he inspired me.
If he could pay this price for Lisa’s sake and obtain this medicinal herb, I could do the same.
‘If I can get it, I’ll be protected when I reject Atticus. I won’t be in a bad situation.’ This way, I could free myself from this terrible relationship.
I walked out of the house, found the Beta, and quickly explained my situation to him.
“Do you think there’s a possibility that he might have prepared this for you?” He stopped me. “Those things are too harmful to the werewolfs body. I don’t want you to go there.”
“Maybe, but I don’t think he has such good intentions.” I thought about everything that Atticus had done to me.
Even though there were still scars on my arm, the needle hole would probably never disappear.
“And I also thank you for your concern.”
“Fine, if you insist, I’ll tell you how to get there, but you must take these things with you.” The Beta sighed.
“It’s too dangerous. We won’t take risks for that.”
