Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Not Here For You
Eloise’s POV:
Why was Atticus here? This shouldn’t have happened!
I rubbed my eyes, unable to believe what I was seeing.
After all, he was a pack’s Alpha. He should continue with his work. Why was he here with artists like me?
But I just wanted to pretend I didn’t see him because I didn’t want to be entangled with him anymore.
He was sitting there, and he annoyed me. I couldn’t shift my attention away from him.
It was obvious that Hanna did not know who Atticus was. She glanced at Atticus and continued to take photos.
It was at this moment that our guide appeared. Before this, we knew her name was Pearl, so there was no problem communicating with her.
After she explained what she needed to know, she stood there and looked at Atticus, then at me.
“Do you guys know each other? Maybe you should go and have a chat,” Pearl suggested.
“Because that person has been watching you for a long time.”
Atticus even waved at me when Pearl said that.
Of course, he was! He was Atticus! I gritted my teeth and looked at him, but he looked at me very calmly.
“If you don’t like him, you can reject him.” Hanna finally noticed.
“Ah, that’s not the reason. In fact, I know him.” I shook my head.
I had no choice but to approach him to get this over with. I picked up my drink and slowly walked toward Atticus.
This was truly terrible.
“I’m really surprised that we would meet here.” He raised his hand and greeted me.
“How did you guys handle the incident at the birthday party?” I responded as naturally as I could.
I didn’t want to cause any more trouble for Hanna or Pearl.
But I was still very concerned about what happened at the birthday party. After all, no one would let him off easily if something went wrong on such an important occasion.
“Apologize and make amends, and then it’s over.” Atticus’ answer was simple. He didn’t seem to be uncomfortable with my question.
“I didn’t want to be involved, and they could see it. Unfortunately, the attacker wasn’t caught, so they just left it at that.”
“Alright, I know that.” He definitely wouldn’t tell me the details. I shouldn’t be struggling like this.
The sparkling water in my hand suddenly tasted like nothing. In front of him, everything would become tasteless.
This was because of the mate connection. If I didn’t force myself to focus, I would’ve leaned over subconsciously.
“We’ll go upstairs first! Remember to come over later!” Hanna waved at me.
I responded before turning slowly to look at Atticus. He was wearing gloves on his hands, which were covering the wound. Unfortunately, this meant that his injuries had yet to recover.
So why was he here now?
“Why are you here?”
“You can’t be thinking that I’m here to make you uncomfortable, right? I have some matters to attend to.” He looked at me in surprise.
“You know there’s a very famous pack here, right?”
I could barely speak. I knew he was right. The attraction of that pack was enough for him to
come here.
Fine, so I was just overthinking it.
“I’m going to find my tour guide. Goodbye.” I couldn’t stay here any longer. Atticus stood up and followed me. We walked toward Pearl’s building.
“What are you… ?” I looked at him in surprise.
“Aren’t you going to find the tour guide? She’s also my tour guide,” he answered seriously.
“So, you will be with me for the entire month?” I looked at him in horror. “After all, the tour guide would lead the same group of people for a month.” “In theory, yes.” He pondered.
“Can I refuse to be in the same group?” I wanted to stay away from him.
“You don’t have enough money.” He seemed to have thought of something and sounded even a little happy.
Oh, Moon Goddess, money could do everything!
If it weren’t for these irresistible reasons, I would want to leave this place.
I didn’t want to see him again.
However, since the company made these arrangements, I couldn’t decline it.
As long as he could endure it, he would be fine after this period..
