Alpha's Substitute Bride - Chapter 30
Chapter 30: Please Help Us
Eloise’s POV:
“How’s your chat going?” Soren walked in from the door. He looked at Atticus as if he had just eaten a fly. I swallowed the rest of the words I didn’t manage to say.
For an Alpha like Atticus, there weren’t many things that could hurt him, so this meant that someone must have carefully planned the attack.
This was too serious.
Fortunately, Soren did not pay much attention to me. He and Atticus spent the rest of the time checking information as if I didn’t exist. Finally, I sat down in boredom.
“Can you please leave for a moment, Eloise? We have something to discuss.” When I finally activated the electric sofa by accident, Soren turned around and looked at me. I nodded and left as quickly as I could.
The bodyguards standing there looked at me when I walked out. However, they soon lost interest. I sat on another chair and continued to look at the sky.
The weather was still as gloomy as when I left the house. It was freezing here. My clothes were already soaked, and I almost sneezed.
But unsurprisingly, no one was paying attention to me. I tried my best to shrink into a small ball and not fall asleep.
“Eloise?” I wasn’t sure when Jude appeared beside me. I felt a little warmer.
Jude put his coat on me, and I accepted it without any hesitation.
“I’m grateful to you,” I whispered.
“It’s nothing. Helping you… Is what I should do. You are my friend and our Luna,” he said with a smile. Before I could say anything, he quickly left.
However, at the very least, this incident made my impression of the Hil Pack less terrible. I initially thought that they were all bad people.
After an unknown time, their conversation finally ended. After that, I was allowed to enter Atticus’ ward again.
The smell of disinfectant was still very strong. I couldn’t help but sneeze, but I tried my best to hold it in. My eyes were red as if I had cried. Atticus looked at me.
“I need your help, Eloise.” He looked at me seriously.
“I don’t think you want to be involved in a dispute that shouldn’t exist, right? But now, this is just that dangerous.
Even though I hated his tone, I knew I had no other choice in this. Since Atticus got hurt after asking me out, the pack would not let me off no matter what. I was the Luna they didn’t like, so it was a great opportunity to get rid of me.
So I could only agree to his request.
I looked at him and nodded.
Then, he removed the bandage in front of me. Looking at that terrible wound, even I couldn’t help but frown.
Just as I imagined, the wound didn’t heal at all. Instead, it was still shining with a strange silver light. This was proof that a werewolf had been injured by something made of silver.
Growing up in the pack, I was all too familiar with treating such wounds. There was no worse way than that.
Even if we were no longer mates, we still belonged to the same pack. So I had no reason to reject him.
“We need your help to capture the person who hurt him. This is the only way to explain to the pack.” Soren sighed.
“This might be very dangerous. I think you need to know this in advance. However, we will provide you with protection regardless of whether you participate.”
“Sure, I’ll try my best to cooperate.” I nodded obediently.
Although I didn’t know where that person came from, I was sure he was a werewolf.
There were simply too many werewolves who felt the same way about Atticus.
“Thank you very much for your contribution to the pack. I will do my best to thank you.” Atticus looked at me sincerely.
“If you really want to thank me,” I quickly waved my hand.
“… you can reject me as soon as possible.”.
